I hope that playing on ball defense is not only fun, as they say, but rewarded as well.

I'm actually ok with this..

For players who developed muscle reflexes for the Shot Stick, getting used to the Control Stick is going to require an adjustment period. In my short time with the game, I was still accidentally making a dribbling move instead of hoisting up the rock when I saw an opportunity to shoot. Visual Concepts producer Rob Jones says that after playing a handful of games you should get the hang of it.

he's right...it will take probably just a few games to get used to it and the demo will be just for that! Holding down the L-trigger is already hardwired to you anyway thanks to the isomotion...you just need to adjust it from shooting instead of dribbling

Wow this is a huge upgrade. I was surprised that the first developer insight already focused on gameplay. Props to 2K devs!

Very very happy to see this, this might be the year I actually start winning!

player models look toned down which is a plus, but the uniforms look extra baggy. I love the implement of defensive stance control. So happy they put some effort into the defensive side especially on ball.

Wasn't Mike Wang the last guy to help put out NBA Live 2010?

Tbh that's one of the things that I like with NBA 2K. Getting used to new stuff practice and learn. Especially if it's an improvement just like the post game last year for example.

Back to button shooting I go lol .

I can't lie -- I don't jump on anybody's hype train but that ish just got me excited. My heart probably skipped a beat.

Virtual ankles shall be put on notice. #IsomotionAchieved

Looks good so far...

I like the shot stick so I'm hoping they didn't completely throw it out. But looks promising to say the least.

# 32 Bootzilla @ 08/10/12 10:34 AM
Sounds promising. I'm hoping floor spacing, fastbreak logic, and speed thresholds (i.e. centers being able to run with and get in front of fast guards) is better represented. Also, I'd like to see far less guards and non post players possess Olajuwon like post moves. That really rankled me last year. Nothing worse than Jodie Meeks on the break come to a dead stop and dream-shaking into a layup.

I'm digging the controls, defensive shading, bounce pass on demand, collision detection and physics.

With a fun regular season, great playoffs, olympics, trades et al. The NBA is in full swing. Can't wait!

Do I understand that the player wonīt change the ball if I donīt flip the right stick?

That would be amazing, as now you have to adapt your dribble to your defender yourself.

What I really hope regarding defense is that they at least put in the game a hardcore difficult level in which you are forced to play on ball D or your computer controlled defenders will do nothing but follow you around, like in other games as fifa.

Other difficult "I'monlyhereforthedunks levels, can let you skip defense, but hardcore gamers would really appreciate this.

Right Stick for dribbling and also for shooting (with a modifier I guess) is music to my ears...

Cheers! ;-)

This looks ****ing phenomenal.

I never would have guessed they would have changed so much with the defense.

Props to 2k. That's really, really, really, smart decision making.

You got extra baggy out of that? The uniforms definitely seem less baggy than they were last year and previously. Maybe not as tight as some guys wear their stuff, but definitely didn't get any worse than last year and don't look the same either.

I'm pretty pumped after reading this, but I also aware that I need to try this out first. I need to see and feel this in action for myself.

Minor video nitpick. WTF with those accessories 2K. Another year of no home/away colors? C'mon son.

It's looking good. Cant to see more.

Shot stick was overrated anyway. It worked alright from mid range, but when attacking the basket it didn't seem to matter which way I flicked or pushed the stick, I had a 50/50 chance of doing a layup with a hand far, far, far closer to the defenders than the free spaces near the basket. Found I often got better results from pressing square.

And I hope passes into the paint can be bounce passes or lobs over the top. It isn't just players not being able to non-icon pass to the person they want, it's the pass selection and that sometimes the D reacts to the pass the moment you press the pass button leading to psychic defenders deflecting passes they shouldn't even see coming.

Anywho. Looking REAL good. Real time physics? It's like you guys actually pay attention to me! Can't wait to see that in action and see if it measures up to the hype.

I disagree. In my view the problem with the lag is going to be the same as using a button/trigger is way quicker than the release of the shot with the right stick, besides I suppose you still will have X button as an alternative...

Definitely sepparating dribbling from movement is the way to go in the future in my oppinion, it may open a new world for creativity where your skill can make more of a difference, we will see.

Cheers!

Cant wait for 2k13, I believe with this new control scheme, dribble moves will be easier to do.
