I don't know if anyone has had this but the CPU actually cut back into a hole opposite of the way the play was designed for a big run. Was so nice to see the AI improvement there. The CPU was LSU btw, they were getting some big runs and with this being on varsity, that only means good things for higher difficulties.

I'm up 17-14 with 2 seconds left
Baylor has the ball at their 40 and no timeouts. They run the ball???

Kind of a killer if that type of thing happens in retail version.
It worries me because the basic logic should be there to tell them they have to go deep.

Otherwise it was an enjoyable game and I like the feel of the cpu defense.

Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this - the crowd should be louder when the home team is on defense, not on offense (in a general way, that is). The reactions to big plays is good but I was playing at home on defense and had the opponent 3rd and goal and was tapping the "waive arms in air" button over and over and the crowd was dead.

I wish there was a way to ask EA about stuff like this - if it's just a bug with the demo then there shouldn't be a problem in clarifying that.

Just to illustrate - here is what the crowd sounds like on NCAA '08 - skip ahead to the 3:40 mark. It's not the greatest recording but it shows just how pathetic the crowd sounds now when you're on defense.

This has happened to me in every game so far where the CPU has come out in a hail mary look, but instead chose to run a draw with the game on the line.

Exactly what I noticed. I had a ton of noise when I was in the redzone about to score and eventually when I broke a run to score a TD, great noise and sounded pretty good. Same situation but on defense and it was dead, no matter how much I tried pumping them up.

When I hop on and do some more demo testing later I'll try and pay more attention to it on both ends.

Never getting the ball in a second OT ftw! lol gotta love demo glitches.
That's extremely unfortunate seeing how many people complained about the same thing last year. You'd think EA would have fixed it.

Baylor ran a fake punt on 4 and 7 in the second quarter. The FB right ran up the gut for a 44 yard TD lol.

I think the effort was there, just a business decision by Cam Weber. Not good for gamers, though.

I usually say that it feels like the same game, but this really really feels like the same game.

There are some minor presentation tweeks and a better camera for replays. Other than that, it looks and plays the exact same.

I'm usually pumped for the release but I might not even buy it.

Noticed a really cool new play in Alabama's book. A play action screen to the TE out of Ace Slot Flex. It isn't a full play action, it has the same look as the Zone to the weak side but the QB pulls up and dumps it off.

Also saw that you can now switch the speed option direction in shotgun in all formations. Especially cool in the formations you can motion the HB from one side of the QB to the other.

Unfortunately, I also witnessed the CPU pinned at the 2 yard line, the QB dropping to pass and dropping right through the back of the endzone for a safety.

What's my impression of NCAA? If you've played one you've played them all!

I've noticed some slightly different ball physics. The ball seems to have a little more bounce to it this year.

Try to punt the ball away from the returner on NCAA 13 and watch how differently it reacts to the ground than it did in NCAA 12. It seems a little more realistic this year. I wonder if we'll actually see some punts bounce backwards this year?

You should ask Dewiel, he's the community manager for EA -- he may be able to help

I finally got around to downloading the demo...

I can see some of the differences. I'm kinda indifferent towards it all. I've never felt like the gameplay was terrible. Did it need tweaks? Sure. I think in a lot of regards it got it. I felt like I was able to make throws I hadn't been able to in the past (in a realistic way). The new catch animations were helpful and seemed to make the receivers more intelligent at times.

My favorite difference? I could run the option with Oregon. It wasn't always successful (thank gosh), but it was sped up enough to be able to hit the edge and be a threat.

Truthfully though, I liked the demo last year and wasn't too pleased with the game. I almost felt like it went backwards. Maybe it's just me. One thing that I am coming to is that the game might play the best on Varsity level. In other words, it's more realistic. If somebody came up with the right set of varsity sliders to make it competitive then it could be the best level to play on.

I downloaded the demo last night on PS3 and, all in all, I liked it. I didn't buy last year's game (because I was satisfied with NCAA '11) but I thought the demo played a decent game of football. Game felt smoother, more realistic. I really liked the new QB drops, WR catches, and animations that were not present in NCAA '11.

One thing I really liked is that the interceptions on both ends seemed "fair." If you make a bad pass, you pay for it....same goes for the AI.

I was on the fence about buying but probably will pull the trigger now. I'm more of a Madden guy but can see myself putting some time in with this game as well this fall.

Played a few games on the demo and I'm unimpressed so far. Seen some improvements but nothing makes me wanna run out and get this game. Its just decent... Plus after seeing Madden buying NCAA is a waste of money. I know I want touch it again after playing Madden because its a huge step back in presentation, gameplay, equipment, graphics, you name it. The NCAA team did little to improve this game and added only fluff.

Playing USC (me) vs Oregon (CPU)

The CPU QB has scrambled 5 times in first half with 1 run for a TD. Also what got them down the field was a long pass to a WR that was wide open, but it was overthrown and the WR dove and caught it! looked REAL good.

I loved the demo, it completely solidified my decision in buying the game.

The gameplay and animations were much more natural and fluid.
Passing was a lot better, I just found it a little too easy.
