Ok. So I played two games so far. I will try out the Heisman mode tonight.
PS3 player.
Pros:
Passing is vastly improved - I caught a few new animations, over the shoulder, leading the WR worked well, trajectories work fairly well thus far. I look forward to really playing with the QB's and see all the different throwing styles, throwing on the run etc.
Tackling looks tuned - I saw some beautiful clean up tackles where the ball carrier was wrapped at his feet and another defender came in and cleaned up. Very cool to see that more often now.
Crowd Noise - Vastly improved from 12. The crowd swells, and reacts much better.
ESPN Ticker/Studio Cut Aways - This addition is major for me. I feel much more immersed in a lving breathing dynasty now. Rece sounds bad by higher standards of other sports games, however it is good enough for now. It does not irk me that much. I am glad they have gotten this in the game. The ESPN ticker is awesome and such a big thing for me. Now it looks much more like a Saturday broadcast on ESPN. I love reading the scores between plays, etc. I am not going to rush through games with the ticker. I can see getting immersed a lot more on NCAA 13.
Cons:
Play by Play - It's a demo, so I am not judging this till retail. But on the demo..it's the same ol same ol. Nothing really new.
Really that is about it. It is meeting my expectations in that I really loved 11 and 12 (despite some bugs) and this to me feels and looks like a near fully polished version of those two games. I did not expect a new game. We are what 5 titles in now this cycle? I would like many have liked the new RTP Madden is getting, but I will keep my pre-order and play this game a ton.
This will be my last NCAA purchase for years as well as Madden. This gen has been pushed to the limit it seems. And i will not go next gen for at least 3 years. So this is it. I think with the new presentation touches, the much improved passing tuning and read and react defense tuning the game will be a winner.

This isn't fast that is for damn sure. I played on fast before and this isn't it. This looks more like normal, 0 speed threshold.

For everyone that says it plays like 12, when was the last time you played 12? I've been playing it nonstop since it came out. Its been the third longest game played on my 360.
I played about 10-15 games of the demo so far and went back to 12 last night and there's a HUGE difference in gameplay.

PS3:
Graphics- Horrible. Field is dark. Crowds don't move. The graphics on cutscenes are nice.
Gameplay- Horrible. The game moves way too slow. The passing is great. Love the trajectory. Running is good. Holes open up. But the game moves way too slow as if it's in slow motion. And I'm not talking about motion blur. The game crawls.
Presentation- Good. Replays are great and frequent. Don't like the cut to other scores so frequently. Crowd is the same as prior versions which was a drop off from older titles. But overall I feel the presentation is good.
Commentary- Horrible. Same as the past.
Not sure what they were trying to do with the game. The Heisman mode is confusing. Why slow the game down for "legends"?
EA should really have considered not releasing this game for another year or at least until the next consoles come out.

I remember in last year's demo I was struck by the different feel of running the ball. I get that feeling from throwing the ball. Defensively, I tried making the switch from controlling a D-lineman, something I've done since swim moves were added to Madden in the late 90s, to linebacker, and the defense feels slightly tighter.
Slight is the key word. The gameplay feels slightly better, and I think that might be enough for me since you can't control or play every team's games in Madden because of Connected Careers.
It did feel a bit slow, as someone just wrote, but I attributed that more to the difficulty level. Especially with NCAA, I rather it be slower than faster because the game would look more jagged.
I'm on PS3, and I thought the lighting made up for the graphical hinderances others were talking about. I thought it looked great in the sun at USC. The grass still looked pasted from some angles. Also, the collisions look much better. I know the "infinity engine" isn't in this, but it looked and felt like everything I've been hearing about in Madden's infinity engine. That might have something to do with the reaction change on defense. I have a feeling that's having a bigger impact than this so-called new engine in Madden that I'm not seeing in videos.
Anyway, I'll stop there before I get off topic.

And since you're so concerned with profit, take a look at Electronic Arts' stock price over the last 52 weeks.

Perhaps because it doens't sell nearly as well being it's basktball. IMO live hasn't been good since before 2000. That's a lot of years of crap.

Probably even more since they sold 700k+ copies in less than 2 weeks of release.
