Thank you! I felt like I was the only one that couldn't stand that. This really hurts the immersion factor for me.

I am cool with this premise and think this will lay a great commentary foundation going forward but I just think people have been burned by the infamous "give it time" statements concerning next-gen Madden too much. It's understandable considering next-gen Madden has yet to flesh out a single touted NFL feature to the point of being solid, imo. However, modes like MUT (from what a hear) and online ranked seem very well done and managed.

I think it is a disservice to encourage people to expect any more from Madden 13 than they actually can experience and verify for themselves because at the end of the day, it is what is. If people are disappointed at this point, let them be disappointed but feel free provide your POV on it.
I don't disagree, but I do feel people need to wait till June 4th as the EA Sound Designer did admit that was an old build and to stay tuned in the future.

By E3, then it should be it is what it is. Not saying that the video commentary posted will have a big huge overhaul, but one should reasonably expect commentary to be tuned and tweaked.

As stated earlier, I understand people's frustrations and we live in a society of wanting it now, but I feel laying the foundation and building on it is better than rushing it out with bugs in place, ie pro-tak, the Extra Point and then removing it altogether.

If this game had any history of doing this I would agree, but it doesn't. In the past 7-8 years of current madden, I don't know a single feature that was implemented in Madden the first year, added to year two and finely polished year 3 the way you are describing.

I agree with giving them til E3 of this year tho.

But you do agree that things were rushed out with bugs, don't you? The part you didn't bold.

I agree and that is why I stated what you didn't bold, pro-tak, the Extra Point, etc......, but I'm also giving the doubling of the game play team and Cam Weber and company the benefit of the doubt, and yeah, you can come back and say Ortiz and Ian over and over and I still feel different than those years, but we'll see.

Don't you agree that things can change?

Things can definitely change and I hope they do, but if they actually do that remains to be seen.

Not impressed.

The dumervil sack was a joke and Line play seemed as bad as ever. No "riding" The DE around the QB at all, means no pocket.

Same crappy Audible animations, defense players look like statues Pre Snap.

Same "Instant Stop" celebrations by teammates, everyone does there own thing, no one "Crowds" the dude the made the play like in real life.

Just bad IMO.

nothin pleases you does it .. least its 10 times better than last years and previous years versions.. looked fine to me..

That's all I'm trying to say.

Most def things were rushed out with bugs, online franchise was also added in with the devs stating their intention of doing what you are describing only to see it go completely ignored for years 2 and 3.

I honestly don't get a very different feeling with Cam than Ian or David. It feels very similar so far. We are waiting for a monumental back of the box new feature to be revealed June 4th that will total change Madden forever, just like online communities last year and gameplanning the year before and pro-tak/online franchise the year before....

Well, first of all, the game play team has doubled in size, so, that is different. Secondly, I don't think the word monumental has been used before that will change Madden forever. Third, all of us knew about pro-tak, game planning before E3.

Those are the differences.

I'd guess I'd rather be a glass half full person vs always looking at history to predict the future.

And I'm just referring to the new sound technology, nothing else that has been announced.

We'll see soon enough.

I actually like game planning. Keeps me from using plays to often that work to often and makes the game more challenging but yet keeps things not to random. I like having to execute a play that I am given instead of a play that I know will work. Also I don't miss the time spent in cycling through formations and plays. I thought game planning was a cool feature. I still use it so it changed how I play Madden.

I was watching the Pats Steelers game on youtube the other day and Nantz or Simms said "What a great defensive play by 56 Lamarr Woodley". I am not expecting a major improvement in the commentary compared to what we heard in the podcast, I expect it to have some minor tweaks and probably sound a little smoother. If last year's commentary was a 3/10 I would say this years will probably be a 7-7.5/10
One thought that just entered my mind about names being in the game is franchise mode. It made me think about playing franchise last year and how once you got some years in every teams player intro speech was the same and brought back bad memories of Gus Johnson referring to everyone by number.

I wonder if when you're in season 10 if pretty much everyone will be referred to as 'he' and hopefully they'll have more than a couple generic team intros for Nantz and Simms to schpeal on about.

I feel like it might be a matter of preference for M13 because some people pickup on things audibly different than others. However, unless the devs surprise us with a Spectator mode for M13, I will be playing, not watching the games so the generics probably will not bother me much.

Hopefully for those gamers that are more audibly attentive and/or watch games, M13 will have plenty of accompanying player specific visual overlays and camera zooms to help the generic audio seem more personalized.
Yeah, "he" rather than numbers is definitely by far the lesser of two evils. So much to the point that it's not even really an evil. And I agree that I think they've got a good foundation to build on now and I think we'll see Nantz and Simms for much longer than we saw Hammond or Gus. The only reason I mentioned the player intro scenes is because when I'm playing franchise I'd be less likely to skip them on my side at least if I was getting something a little bit different each game. June 4th's almost here though so lots of questions should be answered then!
