Surprisingly boring. I mean he scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery after a huge sack at least sound somewhat excited. Wow. Snoozer fest. That's just too bad

Like I said it's a WIP, that video is from a very old build and not only that but you can't hear the new crowd audio at all there compared to what we heard yesterday in the webcast. I don't have to hear Nantz going nuts like Gus Johnson on a TD if the crowd is.

I'm hopin' they bring this kind of excitement to the table

The new kick off camera view is annoying. Go back to the way it was in 11. Madden just wants to take us even farther away from the field. Who cares about tv angles, I am not watching a game, I am playing one.

Um, there's a big icon on the kick meter that says "Classic View" which does switch back to that angle. It was the same way last year.

Just posting these tweets I saw today, these are from Scott O' Gallagher a bigtime Madden critic who was at Community Day #2. Talking about the commentary this year. He is not a EA Gamechanger. Says he hated Madden 12. When they say a lot of complaints about Phil Simms not talking in the webcast, they are referring to him not talking on screen in the pre-game.

Scott O'Gallagher ‏ @ScottOGallagher
@SimFBallCritic I hear ya fam. Not only that, it's the most authentic group you could have!Buck/Aikman only other duo ppl could want

Sim ‏ @SimFBallCritic
@ScottOGallagher I agree with that all the way. In terms of Chemistry Nantz/Simms and Buck/Aikman do a great job.

28m Scott O'Gallagher ‏ @ScottOGallagher
@SimFBallCritic it's way better than what I expected. Anything that authentic is great.

Sim ‏ @SimFBallCritic
A lot of complaints about Phil Simms not talking in the webcast, but is that really a big deal?

Scott O'Gallagher ‏ @ScottOGallagher
@SimFBallCritic there shouldn't be. It's the best commentary we've had in Madden football since Madden&Michaels period.sounds great.

MAN this forum is annoying with the constant shutting down of threads.

Why do some teams have such huge numbers on the jersey??

Sounds alright just hope they improve the crowd a lot.

Since you mentioned that, here's a tweet I got from another game changer today.

Josh Davis ‏ @jpdavis1982
@markusfrieske @Steve_OS Cool glad to hear that, how did the crowd sound to you?

30m Markus Frieske ‏ @markusfrieske
@jpdavis1982 @Steve_OS I absolutely loved my screen shaking and the crowd going bonkers after a home score.

I really wish they would bring back the camera shake at the line a la NCAA 2005. It was awesome playing on the road and the controller would start to rumble. Then you look at your play play pre-snap and all your receivers routes are shaking violently. The best part was when you made a big play right after that and the controller vibration would tone down and the routes would become less shaky. It was awesome.

Preaching to the choir. Home field advantage -- or the lack thereof -- has been a missed opportunity for the Madden team IMO.

I've read from the Madden team over the years that they feel there is no home-field advantage, but rather just some intangibles from playing on the road (fatigue, change of routine, etc). So they've hesitated in bringing HFA to the NFL game. So I've stopped asking for it.

Even though some may think it's cheesy, I thought HFA was well done in the NCAA games this generation.

Agreed, home field advantage is huge in the NFL and any sport for that matter.

I believe I read that in one of those articles where the dev team was kicking it with John Madden. But it could've very well been somewhere else.

I'd just like to have that feeling in my franchise when I say, "Oh gosh, I gotta go play in Pittsburgh in week 13, ugh!" The enhanced crowd audio will help in M13, but I'd like something additional to create the hostile road environment such as the inability to hot route & call audibles as featured in NCAA.

Another example of a nice feature that should have stayed , but was removed for the next feature. What makes MLB the show successful is the fact that they pile on feature after feature, so this brings in the new and keeps the veterans happy. It even at times bring that welcome change for the veterans, but the point is features always stay. They never get rid of it.

It makes the gameplay much more customizable, which is very important to the gamer.

Hopefully Madden will take this approach and apply it to the future of Madden and NCAA.

Especially when you have the momentum. It deflates the visiting team making it very tough to come back.

The commentary still sounds canned to me.

Despite its other shortcomings, the MLB 2K series has had spectacular commentary for the past several seasons. Most other sports games fall spectacularly short in their commentary. In my opinion, the problem is that you're trying to get non-actors to pretend that they're calling an actual game. Somehow it worked on MLB 2K because they were able to find commentators who have the ability to recreate themselves in a false setting. It's either that the commentators aren't skilled enough or the director isn't skilled enough to tell when something sounds canned.

The commentary in NFL 2K5 was so good because they were actors who were able to pretend they were somewhere else. Unfortunately, I don't think most commentators are skilled enough to fake it.
