I'll give this year a try cuz it's been about 3 years since I last played a Madden or NCAA. Not all that hyped for it, I'm afraid. But like someone said, the way players run is just built into the engine. No sense fretting over it anymore cuz they can't change it anymore than they ahve.
I'll wait to see more details. I'm sure there'll be something I can cling to going forward.

Things could be better and should be better but if this a stepping stone to the future you can't help but to be excited. People have been clambering for gameplay focus well it seems like they are. Maybe ol/dl wasn't something they could do this year but if this is a piece of the puzzle then I'm happy, if it turns out not to be, I'll be disappointed.

I have MLB 12 the Show and play every game of my franchise so I will gladly (and easily) be able to pass on this if it sucks. I also passed on the 11 version because I was not pleased with it.
However you are correct, nothing will change unless people stop buying it. Even better is when/(if?) the exclusive contract comes up and 2kSports is allowed to make games again. Competition breeds better results.

this engine is horrible...the drop back animations looks terrible, hopefully next gens engine will be a lot better and theyre already working on it

Last year, I was furious. Never traded NCAA in so early.

Do you think animations would look better if they were slowed down a little bit? OL/DL play seems just way too fast.
The animations still look off, at least the running animations. While they did add some good improve ments, it just doesn't look fluid enough, still to robotic if you ask me.. Oh well same Ole EA Sports games..

Still not convinced but I like the addition of the catching animations and the shot of the corner and receiver running stride for stride looked cool but overall it seems like much of the same. If there is one thing ive learned over the years it's that EA knows how to make a good trailer, but when it comes down to it the game always pails in comparison. Just last year that Eli manning madden trailer got me all pumped up it looked amazing but the game wasn't even close( they even added fake commentary to that trailer)
If you watch this trailer again notice the part where the QB throws the ball to the supposedly looking receiver, that part looks exactly like 12, the rest of the shots are all close up camera angles that look pretty but they don't represent what the game will be like when you are playing. you could plug in ncaa 12 right now and make a trailer similar to this using those camera angles in instant replay and no one would really know the difference; remember everything always looks better in slow motion.
Until I hear about people actually feeling a considerable difference between this in 12 im not gonna bother.

I like what i see. This year the focus was the passing game, so i expect the big focus will be line play, as i'm sure the old code and logic would have to be completely rewritten, so i'm not going to harp on it outside of requesting that the DT isn't overpowering anymore.
I wanted to focus on the Alabama cb and the LSU wr for a moment. Sure, it looked great with the db looking at the ball before swatting it away. But my question is this- is that really awareness or just a new head turning animation cosmeticly inserted on the psychic db to give the illusion of awareness. Does that make sense? Not really a read and react system, but a cosmetic fix to the psychic db complaint. I'll know more when i see some out routes and hook routes.

Negatives:Ugly player models (football equipment), Terrible running forms of the players
Positives:430+ catching animations, 20 passing trajectories (lob passes, touch passes and bullets), New DB IQ (no psychic dbs), new tacking animations to where you can time the tackle to seperate the reciever from the ball, animations shift over to how the db swats the ball, no more superman linebackers, screen play drop backs, bubble screen dropbacks making it possible to run bubble screens, fixed special teams punt and kickoff lanes#sounds pretty good for a work in progress (if not i guess you'll be playin that funny lookin' 2k game)

Some people on this site crack me up. You complain about stuff EA should do like, passing trajectories and WR's needing to see the ball to catch it, then complain that those things should have already been in the game. If you go watch the webcast and still think this game will be terrible then I don't know how you can be pleased with anything. I have really enjoyed the past two games and 13 looks to be better than either just based on what I've seen. I'm all for giving an opinion but, it seems like some just hate EA and can't even be objective.
