I'll give this year a try cuz it's been about 3 years since I last played a Madden or NCAA. Not all that hyped for it, I'm afraid. But like someone said, the way players run is just built into the engine. No sense fretting over it anymore cuz they can't change it anymore than they ahve.

I'll wait to see more details. I'm sure there'll be something I can cling to going forward.

Things could be better and should be better but if this a stepping stone to the future you can't help but to be excited. People have been clambering for gameplay focus well it seems like they are. Maybe ol/dl wasn't something they could do this year but if this is a piece of the puzzle then I'm happy, if it turns out not to be, I'll be disappointed.

For those complaining about the 3,5,7 drops... shouldn't you be a little happy that they're actually in the game?
The thing that impressed me most was after the RB came off the block and the QB threw the shovel pass that will be a huge addition. But my biggest concern is the screen pass. I still want to see if the new trajectories will get it fixed. But all in all I'm very impressed I can't wait for more details and July 10 cant come soon enough.
Dumbest thing I've ever read. Your eyes must be lying to you to even compare that game play to anything 2k does.

I understand the sentiment, but if all this stuff they are implementing works, hopefully we can look towards the future instead of looking in the rear view mirror all the time.
Well, that falls on EA, not us. EA has continually promised features and they fell flat. I, for one, hope each of these new features work to their fullest extent. But their track record in the past 3-4 years has been anything but sparkling and we have every right to look in the rearview mirror at their mistakes and question why things haven't been fixed while they add meaningless new modes and not upgrade the OL/DL, WR/DB interactions.

This trailer did little to inspire me to plop down $60.

Well, since this is my first year saying that...I'll let you know how it goes. I've never bought a game I've never wanted though, sooo...

I have MLB 12 the Show and play every game of my franchise so I will gladly (and easily) be able to pass on this if it sucks. I also passed on the 11 version because I was not pleased with it.

However you are correct, nothing will change unless people stop buying it. Even better is when/(if?) the exclusive contract comes up and 2kSports is allowed to make games again. Competition breeds better results.

this engine is horrible...the drop back animations looks terrible, hopefully next gens engine will be a lot better and theyre already working on it

I never said it didn't fall on EA, but it's a too premature to call out these features as not working until the demo drops in our laps.

Last year, I was furious. Never traded NCAA in so early.

Do you think animations would look better if they were slowed down a little bit? OL/DL play seems just way too fast.

# 71 Gmen56 @ 04/17/12 10:45 PM
The animations still look off, at least the running animations. While they did add some good improve ments, it just doesn't look fluid enough, still to robotic if you ask me.. Oh well same Ole EA Sports games..

# 72 jagsrock95 @ 04/17/12 11:06 PM
Still not convinced but I like the addition of the catching animations and the shot of the corner and receiver running stride for stride looked cool but overall it seems like much of the same. If there is one thing ive learned over the years it's that EA knows how to make a good trailer, but when it comes down to it the game always pails in comparison. Just last year that Eli manning madden trailer got me all pumped up it looked amazing but the game wasn't even close( they even added fake commentary to that trailer)

If you watch this trailer again notice the part where the QB throws the ball to the supposedly looking receiver, that part looks exactly like 12, the rest of the shots are all close up camera angles that look pretty but they don't represent what the game will be like when you are playing. you could plug in ncaa 12 right now and make a trailer similar to this using those camera angles in instant replay and no one would really know the difference; remember everything always looks better in slow motion.

Until I hear about people actually feeling a considerable difference between this in 12 im not gonna bother.

I like what i see. This year the focus was the passing game, so i expect the big focus will be line play, as i'm sure the old code and logic would have to be completely rewritten, so i'm not going to harp on it outside of requesting that the DT isn't overpowering anymore.

I wanted to focus on the Alabama cb and the LSU wr for a moment. Sure, it looked great with the db looking at the ball before swatting it away. But my question is this- is that really awareness or just a new head turning animation cosmeticly inserted on the psychic db to give the illusion of awareness. Does that make sense? Not really a read and react system, but a cosmetic fix to the psychic db complaint. I'll know more when i see some out routes and hook routes.

I am only 14 min in, but honestly it is still very very underwelming. Quite honestly, most of these improvements truly look like they could of been patch improvements.
well for me it's more than I even expected. I didn't even want to buy the game this year but I must say that no more psychic dbs and 430 plus catching animations sounds promising. I used to play football and I see that the game definitely isn't perfect but this seems like a major step to me. Although I was looking for this years ago it still feels good that they see at least 50 percent of how the fans see it now. *throughout the video they keep saying it's a work in progres* but I don't know. i just wanna play a football game. 2k is fun and all but we've just been anticipating a breakout football game.

Just wanted to say that the receiver on the left was was looking when the ball was thrown to him. They were highlighting the fact that the icon wasn't there yet, but once it continues, the Y icon is available shortly after.

Negatives:Ugly player models (football equipment), Terrible running forms of the players
Positives:430+ catching animations, 20 passing trajectories (lob passes, touch passes and bullets), New DB IQ (no psychic dbs), new tacking animations to where you can time the tackle to seperate the reciever from the ball, animations shift over to how the db swats the ball, no more superman linebackers, screen play drop backs, bubble screen dropbacks making it possible to run bubble screens, fixed special teams punt and kickoff lanes#sounds pretty good for a work in progress (if not i guess you'll be playin that funny lookin' 2k game)

Some people on this site crack me up. You complain about stuff EA should do like, passing trajectories and WR's needing to see the ball to catch it, then complain that those things should have already been in the game. If you go watch the webcast and still think this game will be terrible then I don't know how you can be pleased with anything. I have really enjoyed the past two games and 13 looks to be better than either just based on what I've seen. I'm all for giving an opinion but, it seems like some just hate EA and can't even be objective.
