Well thanks for your time, you been very helpful.. Hopefully you don't get any heat from answering general game play related questions.

Let me give a example

NBA2k11 had some fantastic user created trailers where it blurred the lines of TV like presentation and looking exactly like game on TV. It blurred the lines of realism. The same can be done for MLB The Show.

These games started off with the most basic of principles that matter. Movement is HUGE for immersion and it looking realistic. While the EA football games have continued to lack realistic movement, it is also compounded by fundamental issues with the gameplay. These other two games have a much smaller list of this key issues to the gameplay.
I get that but in order to do this EA would have to take control out of a lot of the game...believe me I would like for it to move like a p f but there bread and butter is control ....they would lose a lot more then they would gain ....

I'll include it in my notes from today.

Likely because routes are mostly straight lines and a real person would travel on an more elliptical path it just strikes me as odd.
Great! Thanks for investigating that for us. If you can, I would love an update if you have time/are allowed to do so.

Thanks again for taking the time to update & post!

I don't follow.

If by taking 'control' out, you mean unrealistic control that doesn't happen in real life then that is a good thing.

What do you mean by they would be sacrificing control?

3 things I would have loved to hear about*
1. O line v D line improvements.
* * ** *I didnt really notice anything "new"
2. Running game improvements
* * * * Yes football is getting a little pass happy however there are teams out there that do a good job running the ball.*
3. Tackles Improvements*
* * * *I'd just like new tackle animations … something like the 430 new catch animations*
4. With all the new pass features did the change throwing the ball away*
* * * *I'd live to throw it in the dirt (that's all)*
None the less I can't wait to throw that back shoulder ball that A Rod throws all game & in dynasty getting that 6'7 wr and throwing a killer fade to him. I wonder if there will be more PIs in the game now*

Not impressed. Fix the bugs/glitches/can't play a freaking user national championship game in Online dynasty/transfer failed error.

I will be more impressed with that than some stupid catching animations and 3,5,7 step drops. That stuff means nothing when the game had so many bugs.

So instead of a whole new passing system, revamped coverage AI, hundreds of new catch animations, and being able to disguise coverages you'd be happy if they just said "Hey, NCAA 13 plays and looks the exact same as last years but ALL THE BUGS ARE FIXED!!!"

May 7th is when we get all the news on franchise.

Hey does anyone know what that new "zig" hot route is?

I don't think people realize how much EA has changed this year in terms of SIM gameplay. I cant wait to here the casual gamers complain about the drop back system, the whole light up icon/"looking for the pass" system, lead passing being too hard, etc.

95% of the gameplay improvements have been geared toward SIM players, which we all know are in the minority of Madden players. I give credit to EA for taking the risk this year to make people like us, "the community", happy.

how about getting USC's fight song right for a change. Fight On is what should be played when they score.

O.K. sir, I was finally to get some video on what I was talking about, lol. If you look at 6:15 of this video, they talk about turning and out-route into a corner route based on how the QB "leads" the receiver. I hate this. If that route isn't open against that defense, then you need to continue your progression and find someone else to throw to. In real life it is physically impossible for the Tight End to change his route that quickly on a pass like that. The Tight End should continue running his out-route, and the pass should be behind him and incomplete. I don't like how good defense gets punished in situations like this. This is the kind of stuff we have been complaining about for years, yet EA seems to be trying to turn it into a "feature". The Tight End instantly changes the direction he is running in as soon as the pass button gets pressed, which is physically impossible. I am not down with this at all.

If you guys keep scrolling down the main forum page you'll see an area for these type of questions. Someone may have asked it in the past. By the way, I'm sure if you check on Youtube you'll get your answer sooner than waiting for it on a forum.

@Illustrator -- Yeah, that TE shifting looked terrible. I'll keep saying it until someone listens -- perfect locomotion. Seriously, NFL2k5 (and I'm not a 2k5 fanboy) had players "planting" way back when and we can't even get this stuff fixed nowadays. My mind is blown everytime I see these "ice skater" player movements. Maybe, just maybe, this is still NCAA '12 showing off the new passing system, something I highly doubt.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Its not uncommon for players to modify their route if they know the route they are supposed to run is well covered and they see an open area in the defense. You hear it every game "finding the soft spot in the zone". That is all that this is supposed to simulate.

This game does not yet have the AI where the receivers will do that on their own, so they give the user the ability to make it happen. I just hope in the future they tie this into a rating like route running or awareness to make it more balanced for the defense and more of a risk for the QB.

I dont have a problem with it.

My problem with the video is everyone abandoning their zones in the middle and leaving the FB wide open. Hopefully it is just a blown coverage and not a common thing.

yes that's the way I was thinking it worked trying to let you find the soft spot......
