Anyway all of the old camera views from last year are still in the game. In addition even though the camera is further away the pitch speeds is consistent. It's an optically illusion that you think you would have more time to react but in reality it's the same for the classic and the new camera view.
I thought I read somewhere that you guys lowered the default pitch speed. I might be wrong though.

I think he just meant that the pitch speed is consistent regardless of view.

As for default pitch speed being lowered, you are right...it was Russell himself who posted that default pitch speed was lowered a bit:

This is funny that someone said this is not a Q & A thread yet that is all anyone on here is doing. I asked a question about stats on page 25 or around there and I was told that this is not for questions. Almost everyone on here is getting theirs answered but I dont get squat. Thanks guys. Remember that this is not a Q & A thread.

Always wanted to pull a trigger on picking up a PS3 strictly for The Show...bluffed on it a few times, guess what...come March, I'm doing it.

This game sounds absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to play it...screw the haters.

Keep on doing what you're doing Russell, thanks for everything.

I usually don't post on topic pages but I'm a huge baseball can so I can't wait for this game to hit shelves! As for all the complaining about almost everything! Really guys? I've played almost every baseball game created. From "Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball" on Playstation to All-Star Baseball on Nintendo 64 and this is by far the best baseball game I've played! Hell, I purchased a PS3 just to play "MLB 11: The Show". They can't get the game perfect! It's impossible. You want the perfect MLB experience u really need get invited to the MLB draft and play some real ball. Yes there are somethings from '11 that can be fixed but let the devs work on what they can, make a glitch list for the game so they can read it and seriously quit complaining. Go play 2K12 if it's that bad enough for you. But as for me, I'm gonna play '11 until '12 comes out then I'm gonna destroy your team and watch my Angels beat up your squad and win that World Series! Grow up guys goodness!

By the way: Thanks, Russell for spending time answering quesions all the time (although you haven't answered mine yet ;-) It's definitely unusual for game developers speaking about a product and replying to questions that hasn't even been released yet. Nice work! Can't wait till March!

This issue/bug only happends when the automatic replay is shown right after the play has just happend. If you do a manual replay it shows the currect picture/stats/info on the jumbotron.

Infact I found a video from a pre release build of MLB 11 The Show and this issue/bug is not in that version. It's strange why it ended up in the final release build.

Goto around 6:40 in this video and you can see that the issue/bug is not happening in this version of the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJdCP...eature=related

Its been reported in the bug theards so hopfully it will be fixed.

I also should offer a warning, as someone who's become a junkie (any suggestion for a rehab facility...?). I didn't even buy a PS3 for the Show (and games in general) and it has pretty much become a dedicated machine for it by now.

At first the Show may be very challenging (too challenging for some) but this game gets better and better as you get better and appreciate how much details are in the game to make this baseball video gaming so eerily close to the real one in the excitement level.

If you really like baseball, you are in it for a real treat... that's for sure.

One of the funniest incidents last year was someone complaining that a player's stance was wrong, but the player actually was there and was scanned for his stance lol.

Also re: rainouts etc, we had more than a few conversations about this last time I was there, and it's very evident that they do want to handle that if they can the right way to do so.

I agree...I have had a ps3 for about 3 years now and its amazing...the show has been the must buy game for me...that and uncharted. As for the difficulty, as others have said its challenging at first...but once you get into that groove you will love it to death man. Knights and co are the beat rosters period on the market across the board so accompany them with this game and it really is MLB in your living room.

I'm a huge fan of this game, and I am excited about everything I am seeing...however, one small gripe I have (and yes, I know it is nit-picking) is STILL the lack of any real licensed equipment such as seen in the NBA2k, Madden, Fifa, etc.
Personally, I can't stand those ugly freaking shin guards that STILL don't even fit properly on a player's leg (see Adrian Gonzalez screenshots).

In fact, now that I am thinking about it...one of my main hopes for next year's game is to see an overhaul of however SCEA manages their uniform and equipment design. In the sports gaming industry, they are well behind the curve in this regard. All the other sports games have had licensed equipment for 5+ years. To be fair, though, they did nail the most important aspect of a sports game: gameplay. The game is great, but improvements can be made.

Not to delve too much into it.

It is all legal and licensing. If you notice the loss of Rawlings.

It is much more complicated (expensive) with the MLB unions, licensing.

Literally the only reason I play video games at all is because of The Show. Of course I play other games now, but I definitely would never consider spending money on a console if it weren't for this amazing baseball game.

All those other games with licensed equipment. Madden you can see the Nike symbol, but NBA 2k I cant even make out the shoes unless its zoom in shot.

I prefer gameplay over licensed equipment. We have Louisville Slugger still, dont we..
