Totally agree!

While I myself like having most of the items on screen and would never turn them off. There should be an option to toggle on/off every single item on screen! For me the only time I maybe would toggle most screen items off is when I do CPU VS CPU.

I would vote to make a rookie mode for all new comers to the game, this would be appealing to all your "focus people" and wouldnt jeopardise the realism and difficulty of the game.

Also adding some icons onscreen is ok, but please dont add any more, as I am speaking for the hardcore audience.

After reading all the posts, the score bug is located in the only place it could be. The clutter should have an option to toggle, (it isnt in this year, hopefully next year) or a rookie mode as someone else suggested. Otherwise it looks well polished. Keep it going.
EA did this with their Madden series by dumbing the A.I. down so that those who really don't go out and purchase their game is able to sitdown and be competitive.

Wonder how that went?

Do you guys really think Sony would make MLB The Show too easy?

Not a chance in hell

I think what they are trying do is make the "hard modes" harder and the "easy modes" easier!

I can speak for this myself as I find even the easy modes still hard in this game. There really is no easy mode in MLB 11 The Show as far as I am concerned! Even on the easiest level Rookie I still have a hard time scoring runs and winning games! I would trully welcome a true "Easy" mode where I can actually score a lot of runs and win games with ease!

I really do not think you guys have anything to worry about Sony's goal will always be to make MLB The Show the best true simulation of baseball they can!

And why do some of you threaten to not buy the game if so and so is not changed or added? MLB The Show improves every single year. There are things that I keep asking and wishing for and don't seem to get added but I still buy the game every year! Why? becasue quite simple it's the best baseball game experience I can get from a video game! And if by chance they don't change or add a feature that I really really want then there is always hope for next year

For example while I am happy to see that Sony made the Scorebar at the top smaller and a little sharper looking. I still have some issues with it. Like I think it could be even smaller and use dots for the pitch count and outs. But I will not threaten to not buy the game because something I wanted did not make it into the game.

I will just keep adding these things to the "wishlist thread" And hope someday my wishes are will be added to the game!

And one last thing lets all try and be a liittle nicer to Russell. He is such a nice guy for sharing all this info with us well before the game ships to stores. We are very lucky to have him here!

Thank you Russell and Happy New Year!!!

I touched on this is a different thread a few days ago...

I am FAIRLY CERTAIN (not yelling, just emphasizing that I'm not 100% positive) that pitch speed IS slower by default as difficulty level drops. It may not be as noticable as you're suggesting, but I do believe it is still the case.

And please, let's stop with the praise of the community managers that post on this site. They get free feedback from very dedicated gamers. If they can't take a little criticism along the way from some anonymous shmoe on teh intranet then they need to go find a new job. I mean, they should know what they are getting into by now, and be able to navigate the trolls without much trouble.
Give me a break. We are not discussing major issues here or as you put it "flaws." We are discussing personal wants and desires.

As for your second paragraph, this won't fly here as long as I am a mod. If some "anonymous shmoe" thinks this way, they will eventually have to find another site to post on and lose the privilege of direct access everyone here enjoys.

If you don't think we openly discuss flaws and issues then you're COMPLETELY oblivious as to what this board has done for this game the past few years. And I can't say I am surprised as every year a small group of the community find a few points to bitch and complain about ad nauseam to the point where they become white noise.

This is not one of those "flaws."

People have made some good points here about true broadcast, OSD's and options. In fact I have personally been vouching for this lately. But no - you can't just leave the point alone - but rather post about it over and over and run the damn thing into the ground. You end up doing more harm than good

....actually what you refer to as "the inner circle" is EXACTLY where YOUR voice gets heard. Every one of the guys going to CD has a list directly from right here on O.S. right from your posts. Mine is usually 10 pages long printed directly from the threads.

Agreed. I think last year I had 30 something pages printed. Had 2 labtops going (yours and Brett's) plus tapatalk on my iPhone. Going back as forth in Shawn's office, Gil's and Lorne's. Just to tweak what stadium and uniform things we could. Lots of back and forth with the community and developers. Lots of logging into the style guide network and flicker/google shots.

And you guys going over roster and franchise items and testing over and over and over and over. Sometimes working on the same item for hours (don't know how you do it Knight).

I got maybe what? One to two solid games in with everyone?

Trust us guys. We bust our asses there from the moment we step off the plane, till we depart. 15 plus hours a day, non-stop in the studio.

And it is so worth it. And we do not regret a single moment. We are the communities voice, and we cover as much as we can for everyone here and ourselves.

This is something I also want to know. Was there a cut-off date on that thread when you stopped with the requests? Just wondering if my name will make it in.

By the way, sorry for everyone's nitpickiness. You guys do a great job, and it's amazing to see you guys actually communicating with your fans on forums like this one. I personally can't wait for MLB 12.

As far as the brave thing. One of the funny moments was Braves fans seeing a Cyber photo of Jason Heyward in one of the screenshots and worried there would be no real photo for him, then later Russ dropped a phot with smile like he swallowed a piano pointing at a screengrab of the J-hey kid with his stock photo, with a caption like 'gotcha' or something to that effect.
Ahh even after 1,049 hours working on the Show, he can still let loose and have fun with us.

he's been cool in my book ever since that one.
Yeah. We all had a good time with that in the office. Taking bets on what was going on with Brave's fans while we left them sweating bullets.

Then when the newest update came down the pipe (which happens almost every hour), I snapped a picture of Ramone straight cheesin' and made a thread.

We don't normally do that. But sometimes we have to have a little fun. And those fanatical Brave's fans made it all too easy!

They hear you. They are just saying "not this year more than likely", because they are in the bug and polish phase.

I don't know if they added names this year or not....and I don't know if they had an actual cut-off date. That thread was kind of a "can't hurt" to compile it if they could get Matt the time to do it.

I have been reading some of these posts. This thread is an attention grabber. Some of the things that you guys called your opinion is rudeness and I perceived that way. I mean you guys are going out the way to say your not buying the game. That is your preference, but it won't matter the Show still has a million of us that will. So go check out MLB 2K products and I am sure you already have. It very nice game. It reminds you that you are watching ESPN Baseball Tonight. I take Tarzan(the Show) over Jane(MLB 2k) anyday....

# 232 RedK @ 01/01/12 12:04 PM
The 2K baseball games are terrible. I gotta see some gameplay for the show before i change my mind from a wait for the price to go down to a day one buy. So far there hasn't been enough for me to change yet.

Sure there are things that I would think would be cool if added, but to say it needs MASSIVE changes is false. I know alot of people were on board for a WHOLE new franchise mode. That scares me!! We know what we have now. When you make wholesale changes to anything and a problem arises there are many many many more variables to find the cause.

Saying nothing new was added last year....Trust me, some new things were added last year. I love the achievements section in franchise mode and I believe that is a start to bigger things.(I have no inside info) I thought trading was improved. More trades happened closer to deadline and many fewer earlier in the season.

Room to improve? Sure, but come on how can anyone program for human decisions? We talk all the time about certain players should never be traded or play for another team. I always counter with Griffey and A-Rod being traded. Pujols just left...etc. I like that it is in the game.

I hope that when I get to CD that I get a chance to, like I do every launch with the game, just sim and tinker with franchise mode until my eyes hurt. and I know they want to iron out the bugs and I am sure that most of them already have been.

I have been satisfied with the game last year and even with some workarounds it never detracted from my enjoyment.

And from reading here I see some new features that excite me with the Vita and the Show.

I trust in the direction that the Show has gone and honestly who can ever say they have not gotten their monies worth?
All I really want to be fixed in franchise is two thing. 1) Teams need to not go broke after 5 years because all these arbitration eligible players with ZERO major league service time making 5+ million dollars resulting in Felix Hernandez being a free agent in 2015 with no teams able to afford him. 2) the trade logic is unsatisfactory. I dont care that "Arod" or "Griffey" get traded, i am concerend with what they are traded for and the frequency with which trades take place. The Show 09 had it right.

Any word on those specific areas being worked on? Thanks.

The one request on this site that I have read all too often is the one where people ask for more batting glove options, more hairstyles, more jewelery, more shoes, different bats, socks, glasses, signature gear, face paint,,,,,the list goes on and on. To all those people I say this, send me your address and I will send you all my daughters old barbie dolls. Lets fix baseball issues in the game and quit playing dress up.

# 236 Knight165 @ 01/01/12 12:38 PM
Since I'm more of a MoM player, most of the OSD's in the form you see in the pics don't apply to my mode of play so I'm just asking...

Can't you....
-turn of the baserunning windows
-have no feedback on the swing analysis
-shut off the strike zone and h/c zones
-guess pitch off(is there a no feedback on this one too?)

Wouldn't that just leave the pitch selection screen and the swing choice option on display?

If people want to dress up the players with all kinds of accessories what's so wrong with that?

Everybody likes different things. And no matter what people keep requesting all the "baseball issues" what ever they may be do get worked on every year!

One has nothing to do with the other!

# 238 Blzer @ 01/01/12 12:58 PM
As far as the new batting camera goes, I'll give it a whirl, but chances are I will try and recreate my MLB 11 camera angle. I do wish we could change the depth of field ourselves, but as Russell put it, it's not as easy as just "adding in the option." Hopefully there are a couple of more presets that bring us even closer to the action (pitcher and rest of the field is closer in a smaller field of vision) that I would probably work with.

Are you implying that your daughter would play MLB The Show if these customization options were in the game?

Why does every info thread turn into a Q and A thread and people complaining about what wasnt mentioned or what hasnt changed? There are threads for that here, more so than most games. Respond to the features that are being discussed and released.

And to say that you're just tired of other people defending the game blindly...a lot of it is people using these threads properly and discussing or stating wheather they like a feature or not that has just been released ..its not letting other "flaws" slip by. but maybe it's because some crazy fan has already beaten it to death in every other info thread that turned in to a rant on whats wrong and/or hijacking it to go on about what features arent included before even half the features are released yet, all under the guise of informing people because it yet again was over looked.

Honestly, maybe Russel can say, how many things were over looked or fell through the cracks that wasnt brought up in the bug threads in proper manner and was truly fixed because a "fan" repeated their buying habits and ultimatums and dire concerns for something so simple that surely it could be fixed?

I personally dont like the idea of a pitcher to be farther away. Thats part of the intimidation of a 6'7+ pitcher on a mound he is close and towering, if you need more time to react guess better or slow the pitch down..but we have custom camera angles.

Also I like the idea of less displays but also like the fewer button presses/menu screens..I do wish for a pitch counter tho, sportsnet on rogers doesnt and Im always wondering what it is..I spend a lot of time looking at pitch counts so i can work starters.

Yes. That (for me, at least) is part of the frustration as there are options to turn some, but not all of it off.

I won't speak for anyone else, but for me, I've asked in the past for an option to turn off all of it (including pitch selection and swing choice). So when I saw there was actually more added to the screen while still not having the option to turn certain things off, I was a bit disappointed.

Now to clarify (since a lot of liberties are being taken in response to those who have pointed out such things) I am not saying this is a huge deal, not threatening to not buy the game, nor am I harping on it. I am simply responding to Knight's question and explaining that it's not a new request for me.
