Right?! It's crazy! Chalmers tried to lay it in, but I stopped him with Butler, then we ended up tipping the ball for like 3x before I got the rebound. Looked really cool.

Is anyone else finding it nearly impossible to pass out of a shot? I've tried like 20 times and only got it to work once

Final was smoother to me and more responsive especially on defense. This build feels a tad sluggish to me.
Wow, I would pay $60 for it now.

Thanks for the info.

Still not a fan of the delay between when I press pass, and when they actually pass. I hope this is fixed in the retail version, because that was the cause of every single last on of my turnovers in 2k11. On my career, I averaged 5 turnovers per game with my pg(with 15 assists per game), so clearly I'm a great PG, but the passing delay messes me up from time to time. Other than that, I looooove the demo, I can't wait for the game to come out!!!!!

I really hope it's just me and that it isn't present in the final build - I don't see any charges at all, can't draw none and even when heavily attacking the paint - only blocking fouls

Anybody see monster blocks like sending the ball to the stands type of block?

# 887 Eman5805 @ 09/21/11 02:49 PM
Grrr. What am I doing wrong? I can't foul Rudy Fernandez out no matter how many times I mash R3, even when I'm right on the ball handler.

Edit: New ball physics make a world of difference. I just fouled LeBron on a dunk attempt and he missed on the front of the iron and the ball went FLYING down the other end of the court. And not with some flutter on it. Uh uh. Ball looked shot outta a canon. Also, long rebounds on missed 3s are possible now. For a guy that loves to rebound with guards, that makes it a little easier on me rather than constantly having to go amongst the trees.

Drew tons of charges in the paint already.

Also seeing/playing with "cyber" Dirk is insane. It's the closet I've seen a videogame athlete compare to his real life counterpart.

Great job !

The CPU did an alley-oop off the backboard against me. That never, ever happened in 2K11, and I played it all year long.

-The shooting fouls off pump fakes look much better. The majority seem to be new animations! Makes me wonder if the got the "Durant" in there!

-Love that dunks were toned down some. They now flow within context of the game. Back to being highlights, not ho-hum.

-Shot block animations/logic much better, very noticable!

-Boxing out is executed way better than 2k11. Still didnt feel quite 100% responsive to me though.

-Bigtime learning curve for on-ball defense. Hopefully, it shines when it is second nature.

-Fastbreak logic improved!!! Thank you 2k!!!!

-A few coloring nitpicks (ps3). Seemed pale, some player faces lighter than body (Haslem and Butler noticably). Some tats seemed a bit too dark, charcoal-like. Shoes still look bit out of focus. Perhaps will all look better in final build.

-Regarding the demo, wish it offered Lakers/Celtics 80's option to play a quarter. Also wish for a rematch/quick restart option. And, perhaps a bit longer obviously.

-Very pleased overall. The improvements show, and will shine. Great job 2k!!!

-Signature enhancements stand out.

-As for demo, they had offered Lakers/Celts 80's as bonus playable quarter, and wish there was quick rematch/restart option.

-Few graphical nitpicks. Coloring looked a bit pale (ps3). Some faces seemed lighter than body (Butler and Haslem notably), some tats seemed almost too dark, charcoal-like. Could be improvrd in final build. Shoes still look out of focus.

-Gonna be a great game! Appear to have made noted improvements.

This is really good news to me, hated that each drive on me on 2K11 was a blocking foul, made defending layups a headache

# 893 CX1329 @ 09/21/11 02:58 PM
The referee just called an off-ball illegal screen. I don't recall those being called in 2K11.

Sorry for redundant comments on my previous post...typed it on my phone. Couldnt scroll to bottom to edit. My bad.

Another huge improvement: passing to the corners now works correctly. No longer will the passer slam the ball off the backboard or pass into a defender when attempting to pass to someone in the opposite corner, instead, he will either bounce it or throw a straight pass.

I've had a couple times where they still hit the backboard when passing that way, but maybe I was too deep.

Well I felt obligated to get an account on here to give my run-down on the demo. I have been playing 2k11 every day for months, so I am well aware of all of the cheese that can occur.

When I heard Czar and others say you will not be able to play 2k11 after playing 2k12, I kinda brushed it off thinking it was hyperbole, but I can truly say that even after playing the 4 minute demo, I am done with 2k11.

There were times where my jaw dropped and I laughed like a giddy school girl, do not buy into the "this is just an updated 2k11" I could see how you would see this at first, but the more I played this demo, (and I have played it about 75 times) the more I realized just how many new aspects there are. So here's my laundry list of amazingness that I have seen so far:

-The way the ball goes into the rim and net is amazing. When Dirk shoots, the net splashes the exact same way it did in the finals.

-The blending of animations makes it appear like every shot with a player is different, LeBron's jumpshot form changes by the shot (kinda like real life)

-Momemtum Jumpers are sweet! I totally forgot this used to be in the game, it works perfectly with the new turbo/fastbreak system.

-The "flick flick" controls are definitely tighter and cannot be cheesed like they could in 2k11.

-Triangle Post-Up is second nature to me already, it makes me wonder "why hasn't this been the control the entire time?" Super Effective and easy to get in and out.

-CPU passing and fakes are top notch, LeBron cuts it up just like in real life, some of the passes from the waist catch you totally off guard! Pistol Pete Maravich is going to shine with this addition.

-One of the coolest things that I saw was Dwyane Wade goes up for the dunk and gets partially rejected by Chandler, Wade still tries to stuff the dunk, but the ball front-rims and the spring of the snap-down rim launches the ball into the air really quickly! I was in denial when I saw this it was the coolest thing I have seen in a while.

-Some of the And-1's that LeBron was drawing were so life-like. If only they would complain and cry to the refs like in real life.

-Definitely more alley oops off the backboard, I hope this gets toned down a tad-bit, but in 2k11 they were too rare.

-Contact animations driving to the hoop, I saw hundreds of new slop shots.

-The putback garbage points were non-existent in 2k11, I cant tell you how many hundreds of times I saw the same animation of the ball sitting atop the rim and slowly roll off the side of the rim. In 2k12 there finally seems to be more easy put backs.

-I feel like FINALLY the right shots go in and the wrong shots miss!

I am going bold: 2k12 Will Be the Greatest Sports Game of All Time!

The 2k Crew is the most legit developing team of all time. If only other companies would follow their model rather than maintaining the status quo and releasing their lightly updated annual products, the world would be a better place!
