Anyone able to consistently use the backboard on fadeaways from the post? I can do it on pull-up jumpers, but any time I try to do it in the post it just turns into an up-and-under.

Also, I haven't tried it yet, but can you come down the court and pull-up on a dime but then turn that into an up-and-under basically like one of the flick flick shots from last year?

And do we still do flick-flicks holding LT like we did last year? I don't remember, but I don't have the time to test all this stuff out right now because I gotta get running off to my next class.

The fact the you all love this demo so much makes me wonder how many of you are going to die of pure enjoyment when this hits stores.

It's so sluggish to me.

The key to that is not to flick the stick in the opposite direction before the shot is initiated. You have to wait until you're in the air. Right before you release the ball flick the stick in the opposite direction.

Did Ronnie and his #HypeMachine put you up to this? Can't wait for October 4th.

I agree, especially with the on ball defenders. They are so slow in comparison to the offensive players moves. And yes I have tried and used the triggers together for a speeded up defensive stance but then you skate on the floor and cant stop. Im hoping this has to do with it not being on simulation all star mode and some of that is fixed. It seems like there is less suction like madden and contact only takes place when contact is made which is how it should be but in madden they balanced this with the tackle button. I think with a overpowered offense and a plethora of moves on the offensive side there needs to be a counter balance for the defense otherwise we will have off ball defense galore online. The defense does feel sluggish to me. Just my opinion guys...

I love most all other things in the game but this. I think they made the post easier for the masses as well, but I loved the controls and post game from last year personally. Ive played some 50 odd games so my impressions of these and the new controls are from trial and error.

We only have 2k11 to compare to and a a few videos, but I like what you said. I take it you mean sluggish in terms of control? Even more control .... Yes please!

Ah, so instead of releasing the shot stick at the perfect timing, we move the stick to the opposite side at the perfect timing to make the shot off the glass?

Exactly. It might take a while to get the hang of but that is exactly what you have to do. Just practice till you get the timing down.

I intentionally fouled out Jason Kidd to get a feel for J.J. Barea, and I like how the smaller point guards are faster without being arcadely quick. That was the beef I had with 2K11. Players like John Wall could change directions on a dime without regards to momentum. This year, it seems that faster point guards still have the advantage of being more agile but still within the realms of momentum. It was fun penetrating with Barea and trying to finish in traffic.

I felt the exact same way. Noticeably sluggish. Almost thought I was imagining it. LOL. Can't even play the demo is def not the final to me anyway.

Great, as if my grades weren't bad enough as is. Once my copy of 2K12 arrives here, I might as well say goodbye to life as I know it.

No such thing as a slightly late free throw release. Small problem, but still.

Some thoughts:

Post game looks so much nicer. My MyPlayer last year was a PF and I came to master the post, so I was really looking forward to seeing what they did with it. What I like about this version is how much more fluid it all is. Faster entry. Can take the post left or right. Nice. Will have to relearn all the controls, unfortunately, but I see that as a good thing: more challenge = more replayability. Biggest change? You have to hold your post shots until release. You can't just be in the post, flick, and be done with it. Takes some getting used to.

Since when did Lebron James become such a crazy 3-point shooter? Seriously, he's scoring most of his points against me in the demo from the perimeter. It's annoying. On a related note, it's sad to see the ridiculous run-out-to-the-3-point-line-quickly-turn-around-fade-shot is not only back, but hits with disappointing consistency. This is all the more annoying when it happens about 6 feet beyond the arc. When it happens, I'm like, "sweet, what a terrible shot." But then it goes in. URGH!

Am I the only one here who thinks that, despite all the significant advancements made "under the hood" and to gameplay in general, (of which there are many. don't get me wrong it plays awesome, and without doubt it seems like a MASSIVE upgrade from 2k11) that it actually looks and feels a bit more video-gamey than 2k11? I can't quite put my finger on what it is...Perhaps the players are too big?? I dunno. Definitely I think it plays a bit fast, and will likely use a slider to bring that down a touch.

New Isomotion = pure gold. Pure. Gold.

Final thoughts: I can't believe, overall, the difference in the look and feel of this game compared to 2k11. Mostly what I can't believe is that all these changes were made in a year. Puts to shame other annualized games. 2k12 vs. 2k11 is much greater leap than was 2k11 vs. 2k10, despite how good 2k11 was. Amazing.
