Resorting to internet cursing with asterisks? Really? Surely, this is not the type "moderation" Operation Sports is espousing? What a mature message your sending there sparky.
Well, tough guy. Its really none of your business so please stop flexing your anonymous internet muscle. I am not impressed.
If someone offers to share something to those of us who want to see it thats their business, not yours. If no one offers anything, thats also their business, not yours.

As for the rest, it's not ****ing rocket science. This is a FIFA impressions thread; it is for impressions of the FIFA12 demo. I was rather clear where I stand on comparisons. This thread is not the place.
The tensions are getting a little too high now. I think everyone can agree the insults and the like can just stop because that doesn't accomplish anything but make whoever says it look bad. It doesn't add anything to the conversation.
I believe OS inadvertently got this ball rolling by not including PES in the demo roundtable to discuss both games and not just one. Yes, I know that they simply made a choice of what to cover and write about and since this is their site I have absolutely no issue with that and would not want to deal with the things they have to on a daily basis. But looking at it from another perspective it is easy for them to do a roundtable on Madden, NCAA, NHL, NBA 2K, and PGA considering there are currently no competitors for those games. But there is an established alternative for soccer with PES. I would have liked to see a pros and cons debate from the OS writers on the 2 games and even if they all said FIFA was better at least they would have offered their views for everyone to debate in an appropriate manner.
Wow the thread sure gets a lot better when you add some people to your ignore list. Some peope really have an agenda when it comes to this game and it shows. Glad the moderators are not putting up with it.
Anyways still really enjoying the demo and can't wait for 09-27. The gameplay feels very organic and I am seeing a ton of variety. I saw the other thread regarding the funny things going on with the impact engine but I am glad to report I have not seen any of that and I have put a lot of time on the demo so I am not concerned at all. At least the framerate doesn't glitch every other second like another demo I have recently played.

I think what you fail to understand, is that the message QB is trying to get across to you is: "Stop with the PES crap on a FIFA forum". Every post I read from you inevitably includes some sort of "PES does this better..." sort of deal. This is a FIFA forum, and this thread is for FIFA impressions. Come over to the PES forum and tell us all how great that game is this year.

I don't know that it was the roundtable that got it rolling, this ball has been in motion for a long time, and it will continue to roll.
It's gonna happen when you have people who come to these forums that aren't the most knowledgeable about the sport. Because of this, I believe there are a good number of people who have some sort of brand loyalty towards one of the games. I imagine that those who love the sport itself see what each game brings to the table, and where each game is different. Everyone is generally in the same "camp", as it were. There might be disagreement, but there is no belligerence.
I personally know people who think FIFA is a fun game because it's FIFA, not because it's soccer. And while that's totally fine, it breeds a sense of conflict between the two games.
It's sad, but it is what it is. Some people might be able to handle it, but everyone will not be able to have a civil discussion on two opposing products, be it politics, religion, or videogames. This thread has taught me that. Also, I won't call it out, but there is some serious hypocrisy in this thread; that's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. Blind hate towards one game or the other.
Played a bit more today. I like the fact that the D pressures less on offense and actually gives you time to set up, I hated the ultra pressure last year.
I cannot get over the fact that the CPU is virtually flawless w/ its passing and crossing on offense - playing on World Class BTW. Thankfully there are sliders this year so hopefully it can be remedied somewhat.
Tensions run high any time people are giving opinions on anything, especially when two things are compared.
But, when moderators fail to moderate for whatever reason, blind loyalty to a game they feel love but feel is being attacked, a perceived attack on a company they don't want to anger for personal gain, or just good old immaturity, tensions grow even higher.
When that happens, its the failure of the moderator, who, in this case, inflamed things by losing his cool and cursing. Certainly not very mature.
Funny thing is that the conversion had already moved to a more tame tone before he acted. Then, off the back of the moderators comment, another immature person feels emblazoned to speak negatively also , merely showing his immaturity.
All of this would have been avoided by a skilled moderator.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, give us a place to compare both games - because there just isn't such a place right now. There's a place to discuss each game individually, but not comparatively (in a civil manner). Until that happens, this problem will continue to arise.
Both threads contain talk of the other game. That can't be avoided, especially since there is no dedicated comparison thread.
When threads go 100% talking about only one product, then this site will fail because people read impression threads for comparisons.
But, that's not the point. The point is that I have a ton of room in my pm box and a more mature moderator, one without an agenda, would have merely pm'd me.

I'm just asking to ask, can you turn on/off the impact engine in the retail version? If there are sliders I think one way to solve a few problems are increasing the likelihood of fouling. Based on the demo I would also decrease ai passing accuracy.
Took time off from the PES demo to actually devote some play-time to Fifa.
I had a decent game today (despite the short halves, grrr). 1-1 draw between City and the Gunners. Goalies are definitely great in Fifa and the ball interactions with the goalies are spot-on.
One thing that I still get annoyed with is the CPU trying to walking in every stinking goal, but overall the game feels VERY smooth this year and looks great to boot.
I hope that Fifa does more with the intros this year because I love the way that Konami did their intros to the game (both last year and this year) by showing the stadium and grounds crew -- a very TV production look. PES has the best atmosphere with their stadium shots, stat overlays and player walk out. I'd like to see Fifa do something similar as well because with EA's graphics, it would be such an amazing addition to the presentation.
I don't really notice the impact engine as much as I thought I would, but perhaps thats a good thing.
It's tough, honestly, to really want to play the Fifa demo because of the shortened halves because I feel rushed to score goals and not play my style so much.

Does anyone have info on Fifa sliders this year?
We have a thread here in this forum for FIFA sliders this year. I was hoping for foul sliders this year, but no dice.

One thing FIFA did right was change those terrible substitution cut scenes. I gave the FIFA demo more play tonight. Downloaded the EU PC demo and downloaded the patch that extends the time but I must say that nothing really changes, however it does give me more insight on the game, but I see room for improvement in the AI department. However, I will say this, scoring does feel more satisfying than it ever has been in the FIFA series.
I slotted a nice goal in the back of the net in which I found Carlos Tevez cutting in from the left and to go one-on-one with the GK to score a low curling shot pass him. It looked really beautiful and it gave me that PES pump your fist feeling.
Anyone else notice the driven shot (R1 / RB) being insanely effective? I figured I'd try it out more last game and got three goals with that type of shot alone. Theo's was from close range, so I don't fault the keeper for that, but I scored goals with Wilshire and Song from outside the box that seemed like the keeper say it the whole way and just broke really late on it.
Also, Marseille worked a beauty of a goal on me. They played the ball into their striker around the spot, who turned his back to TV5 and the goal, waited for his oncoming midfielder to make a run, and then played it back to him, the CM kicked if first time for a belter of a goal about 22 yards out. The opposing team will definitely shoot from outside. I would upload it, but I got onto my PS3 today without installing the new firmware update, so no PSN right now.
@RomilyBroad V5G 4X1, Senior community dude for the EA SPORTS FIFA series tweeted:
"Should be a lot less weird Impact Engine moments in the final game, for sure. Better ref calls, too."
