Really no point in posting this, over 1,000 replies..

Pros:
Tackling is awesome.
Presentation AMAZING!!
Graphics were good.
Just feels GOOD playin the game, much better than Madden 11.

cons:
Feels like there isn't much weight to the players..weird.
Punt returning was a pain, no blocking at all

2 Questions:

1) Seems whenever I try to hit-stick someone, my defender misses and 'whifs'. For the hit-stick to work does the defender's trait for big hit's have to be YES?

2) Like I said, I don't feel the weight...When I run w/ hester its the same as running w/ forte. What threshold do u guys use? I use 25 on the 'slow' setting

Gave the Demo another go, and the demo has pushed me further away unfortunately.

Again I do not like the results when tackles take place. The over feel of the game feels wrong to me.

I'm not going to go into details, because with so many things being said. Im sure what I feel is wrong has been mentioned, or maybe not and that's ok anyway.

even with how the demo has made me feel I will still give the retail version a try. I will just barrow a copy first, or buy the EA season ticket. Madden isn't the only game I want to demo before purchasing, so maybe the ticket would be a better decision.

Anyways what has also pushed me further away is after playing the demo. I jumped on to playing NCAA 12, and NCAA 12 felt much better. I actaully starting appreciating NCAA 12 a lot more after playing the Madden demo.

Hey, bud how is it going.

The demo had the opposite affect on me. Pushed me closer to Madden. I think it's because I know college is buggy and waiting for a patch.

I just downloaded the demo...played one game. How do you perform swim moves/power moves with the d-line. I could not figure this out, and I couldnt find it in the controls?

Um hit the Right Stick (left/right) for a swim/rip move left or right. That's the only move's I know, don't do bull rushes..

I believe you flick the right stick down for a bull rush or move it left or right for swim moves.

Best demo of Madden I've played in a long time. Got some quirks, those clipping issues really need to be fixed, they are blatently bad. But overall, game has a nice feel. And the graphics aside from the zombie eyes, this game looks incredible. Looking forward to final product. 8 out of 10 for demo.

I think the demo is same old thing. Shiny new paint, same busted engine.
One thing though, please excuse me if this is a "dumb" question, but why is 35 the perfect threshhold speed number? If you want the greatest distance between speed players, wouldnt zero be the best number? Truthfully I dont even think the thing works, just my opinion though.

And also, when the hell are we gonna get pro bowl helmets? Not just the A or N for the confrences? Jeez PS@ had that in 2001!!

I think guys here expect EA and other sports titles to cater to sim players, when their number one goal is to make the best game that will bring the most sales.
You're right, and that's what amazes me about how so many people love 2K5. I love it too but it's still surprising how it's so widely seen as great. I don't think that will happen with Madden any time soon as it comes with the rep it does.

After playing a few 2 player games today I really think this is the best Madden game I've ever played, maybe the best football game too. There are obviously issues with it that need addressing but I'm actually hoping it doesn't change too much from the demo because when you have two humans playing sim style it's actually really good and plays out realistically.

Don't know if any1 has done this yet, but when you are lining up for a FG, you can pause the game, go to replay, then go back and resume game and the camera switches to behind the FG post(like on tv). I don't know about you guys, but I wish this was the camera angle for FGs.

Hey man was up nice to hear from you

Yes we both have a different reaction to the Madden demo for sure, and nothing is wrong with that. In my eyes we are both right for what we like in our games.

I will still give the retail version a shot. I have a strong feeling that this demo is not the retail version at all.

No way it's close to the retail, it's an earlier build than E3 so I assume some of the linebackers-morphing-thru-the-QB and other glitches to be fixed

And you are correct. AJ confirmed that the long ball has been fixed, running QB's fixed and one other thing that I can't recall fixed.

So, it's all good.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this as a bug, but the skill level changes to rookie during the game.

Started off at All Pro, went into the menus during the game and it was on Rookie. This happened both times I played the demo. I made a big completion right before each time I checked difficulty, so I don't think it's cosmetic.

# 838 Yeah...THAT Guy @ 08/13/11 12:33 AM
Is it just me or does it take longer to throw the ball this year? I'm noticing that I get sacked a lot more because the QB's windups are so slow.

# 839 spit_bubble @ 08/13/11 12:57 AM
Reeeaally really liking this game up to this point. Seeing a lot of variety overall, which helps with the immersion into the game.

I've moved up to All-Pro for the last five games or so, default sliders, with the speed set to slow. The slower speed seems to give the players a heavier feel, which I like a lot better than the default.

I think they did a good job with the stagger animations. When a ball carrier gets hit and knocked off balance, you really get a sense that he is fighting for yardage.

The AI not lining up over slot receivers is a serious black eye on the game so far. Last game I was driving with the Bears inside the last minute of the half, and the Packers come out with one safety deep with no one lined up over my guy in the slot. Needless to say he ends up being wide open for a 30 yard pick up.

Another thing I'm not liking is the inputs for pre-snap adjustments. Way too complicated, especially on defense. That system needs a big time overhaul.

I can get use to using adjustments on offense without pressing RS.
But defense is way to compliticated and takes too much time. Especially, with CPU quick snap
