The Madden NFL 12 demo is available now. Please play a few games and post your impressions here. For now, just search under "M" in the demos section or games section. It weights in at 1.53 GB.
I can get use to using adjustments on offense without pressing RS.
But defense is way to compliticated and takes too much time. Especially, with CPU quick snap
Yeah on defense I can pretty much get one adjustment in, if I think about it beforehand. What I'll usually do is just try to choose something that has relevance, like shifting LBs against what I think will be a run, etc.
This brings up another impression...
On one play I used pre-snap adjustments to send an outside LB in on a blitz... This left a guy wide open and Cutler found him for a pretty big gain. I watched the replay and it looked very realistic... The receiver (a TE I think) was running a short quick route, and the blitz just didn't quite get there in time to disrupt things. It was good to see the AI make the recognition.
Reeeaally really liking this game up to this point. Seeing a lot of variety overall, which helps with the immersion into the game.
I've moved up to All-Pro for the last five games or so, default sliders, with the speed set to slow. The slower speed seems to give the players a heavier feel, which I like a lot better than the default.
I think they did a good job with the stagger animations. When a ball carrier gets hit and knocked off balance, you really get a sense that he is fighting for yardage.
That's the way to go IMO...
Itching to start tweaking this years game after the demo experience i enjoyed.
I really like the way the player speed threshold slider works this year it seems to matter a lot more than it did last year.
I can't say enough good things about the demo,I am absolutely having a blast with it. The lack of suction really brings a whole new dimension,as well as the tackles I've seen.
Not once have I witnessed any "super lb's" or "psychic corners",but instead am having a blast throwing OVER Urlachers head and dropping it in behind him.
I had a play earlier where the Bears lb's got confused on a crossing play and both followed the same receiver, while my other receiver ran under neath for an easy completion.
I'm currently playing on All-Pro with very slow gamespeed and threshold at 50.
The only thing I don't really care for is the replays are cut short in the 360 version, while the PS3 shows the whole play.

Really excited to play with your slider set in this game..have you played around with the different difficulty levels yet to see which one you like better? and what speed threshold do you use in the demo?

The AI not lining up over slot receivers is a serious black eye on the game so far. Last game I was driving with the Bears inside the last minute of the half, and the Packers come out with one safety deep with no one lined up over my guy in the slot. Needless to say he ends up being wide open for a 30 yard pick up.
Another thing I'm not liking is the inputs for pre-snap adjustments. Way too complicated, especially on defense. That system needs a big time overhaul.
One of the things people who have played the recent build told me was that the recent builds feel like the players have more weight to them than they do in the demo. They also said the speed of the game, especially the qb speed, doesn't feel too fast like it does on the demo.

Replays are longer in the recent build videos I have seen, they were 360 videos.
And before i hear "you can change speed in the menus" I know that but I only play online ranked games and you won't be able to tune any of those settings!! Also I think your forced to use strat pad online but I can't remember that?
I feel the same way. I know that extensive slider tuning can fix the game to suit me if I wanted to play offline, but I play 100% online so sliders don't mean jack to me. I just hope that the retail version allows me to have more time to make pre-snap adjustments on defense and that the qb scrambling for big yardage will be toned down.
I don't like the camera angle.
I hope the retail version allows you to skip all the cut scenes.
Pre play menu should not have been tampered with. last years was fine.
CPU stll quick snaps.
Pass arch still needs work, lots of work. Too many knocked down passes by lbs.
Tackling is way better.
Playing on very slow is much better for me.
Pass rush seems improved.
Overall I think they should have just made the game play improvements and left everything else the same. Especially when you are on defense, I hate that new look. Its very annoying having to wait till the camera angle changes every time.
WOW I just played my 25th game of the demo... I can't even play NCAA anymore; I would play the demo all day if I had 4 teams to choose from for real. I can't remember when passing the ball to any rout you wanted was ok to do. Play action works for me causing some blown coverage, pass rush is unreal I had 3 sacks with one player without needing to use a nano blitz all user. I played on all pro I didn't change anything and hope EA WONT TOUCH ANYTHING.
Do not patch things that don't allow you to not do things the game. NCAA patched the catch button a feature they put in the game they took out because someone used it to much "What the Frigg" The game is fun and amazing. I feel like I was playing on the Xbox pure fun. I been playing 2k all pro football and thought if madden didn't change I would still have that, but I can tell you Madden will get its *** played off if they don't change anything from the Demo.
I heard some say the demo is not as good as the retail copy if this is the case holy smokes it’s going to be a great year for me.
Come on EA leave the game AS IS let the people adjust their game with sliders for personal use not YOU CAN ‘T BE EVERY THING TO EVERYONE
just downloaded on my ps3. still no in-game save. uninstalled after playing a quarter.
this year I won't buy madden. I'm tired of not having this feature
Not true. I've had Devin Hester drop everything I've thrown to him whether he's hit or not and in multiple games. In one, he dropped a potential 60 yard completion and then another one in the end zone.
Why is Clay Matthews able to keep up with Devin Hester in the open field? I threw a ball to Hester and Matthews was in zone coverage. Hester was about 5 yards ahead of him and never got any separation over a 50 yard run to the end zone.

Annoying as hell..^^ Try putting speed threshold to 0, only way to help it
