I know there are exceptions to this but in general that's the case and I thought if I lowered this then that difference would be more exaggerated.

However, there are the times where you might have a speedy CB who should catch a RB or WR but doesn't. I just wondered what the people who lower the threshold tend to find, does it make for more offense or better defense?
For me, I have very slow as my speed (I know, not the most popular speed) and 19 as my thres.

Its amazing, not for everyone but it makes the game 1000% better.

When I had it on 50, I'm not kidding Urlacher caught up to Grant on a 50 yard run...

Yeah, I know that kind of thing's not realistic but it helps to keep the score down and that's my main aim with Madden. I'm not too obsessive with everyone having the correct speeds as long as the game stays defensive. On a lower threshold Grant would have taken that to the house I'm guessing and I'd rather have him get caught even if it is unrealistic.

Basically, when the game's 0-0 I'm still interested as to what might happen, when it's 21-0 I get bored of playing and if it's 30-30 I just lose immersion as it seems ridiculous even though I know that kind of thing happens sometimes.

Well I'm a HUGE football fan and a HUGE sim player so I want the stats and the ratings to matter, I DON'T want an 80 speed LB catching up to a 90 speed HB...

Get what I'm saying? I see your approach, as I love defense as well, but come on the whole game gets out of whack when you've got Rodgers catching a Bears CB on a potential pick 6.

For me, stats/ratings> defensive game any day of the week.

I saw Rogers lay in Atlanta and his passes are not short . That is trash EA and not what I see on Sunday. Slants are almost automatic. I like the running game . The hits on the quarterback are unrealistic. No QB can take that much punishment. I think its better than Madden 11. First day purchase? NCAA 12 has scared me so I cant trust it
Try slow, a lot less psychic DB's and LB's on slow/very slow

ok, got to play a few games over the week end.
Really like what I'm seeing, feels much better and more realistic.

I'm playing on all pro & very slow which feels the best.

everything seems pretty good but CPU hasn't got a chance in the run game against me for some reason, I guess sliders will have to fix that (which is annoying in a way).

Two things I did NOT like:

why can't EA fix the kicking sound at kick offs? the sound of the boot hitting the ball is always delayed..terrible

atmosphere is a bit too silent when the away team makes a play or scores..

anyway, can't wait for the game

Anyone knows if the release version will has the "in-game save" ?
I will buy madden only with this feature present. I have no time to play a full game, even with 5 min. quarters. can play only 20-25 min. twice a day!
really need the in-game save!
P.S. ncaa 12 has it?

Would like to say I WISH I NEVER LISTENED TO PEOPLE, instead of just trying the game out properly myself.

fsr i believed that playing on slow/very slow was the way to go. Was getting smashed easily on all madden (yes i know its hard but it was crazy).

Last night played on the default settings on all madden (normal speed and 50 speed).

Wow what a game. 14-14 head into overtime.

Really enjoyable.

Roll on the full game.

Had to move this, because the Youtube user temporarily deleted this video.

Just in case you're worried the game hasn't improved since the demo. Part of this video I got from K0ACHK a few minutes ago is from E3( multi-colored tv's,Packers game at beginning, Rams at end) The other part of it is from the end of July showcase event in NYC. I think the game looks pretty good if you ask me. What do you guys think of this?

This game feels so fresh to me. I am so pumped for this game. The tackling is great, and the kicking meter/camera view is fantastic. Game plan is pure genius. I really like how you can now choose to pick from a run or pass play as well. Lets just say this, I have been playing the best football game to date the last week and it has only been a demo. I am going to enjoy the heck out of this game.

I really like the demo this year. It feels like such an upgrade from Madden 11.

Pros:
Better zone defense
Improved physics-based tackling
Consecutive hit tackles
New kicking meter
Ball physics
Presentation

Cons:
Needs more DB/WR interaction
QB moves too fast
Must wait for receiver to run route before passing
No pass interference
Too easy to block kicks

About my last con, it seems blocking kicks happens at an unrealistic rate. I blocked two extra points in one game. I also have had a field goal blocked and blocked one myself. I only played about 8 games.

Also, the coin toss seems to always be tails. Maybe a glitch?

Anyone know when exactly these demos are available for silver members? Is it usually at midnight the week after, or later in the day?

So far I've played probably 10-12 games.

5/6 against the cpu on all-pro (few games switching sides to only play offense).

5/6 against a friend who's better than me, also on all-pro (i beat him 48-7 with the packers last night lol)

I've played every game on normal speed, except the last one I played just now on slow speed. I thought everyone on here was crazy to switch the speed in the demo and advocate the slow setting so strongly. Well I was wrong, the game was much better on the slow speed setting. I had slightly more time in the pocket, saw fewer sacks, and the game played smoother overall. It felt closer to how madden 10/11 played.

Now I haven't purchased madden since madden 2004; after that I went with 2k5 and stuck with it until I got a ps3 a year or so ago. My friend gave me madden 10 when he got 11, and I've played it somewhat regularly, but didn't love it.

Madden 12 looks like it's going to be the one to get me back into madden. I love the new camera angles/presentation elements. The gameplay in the demo is the best madden has been since this new generation started. The new tackling system works pretty well. Zone defense improvements are good. Lack of suction blocking/tackles is great, and overall it's just the best madden is probably going to be this generation.

True to the game indeed--the Bears offensive line is terrible! Poor Cutler

Not if Cam Weber and the new development team stay true to their vision. This was year one of their three plan. It's only going to get better from here. I'm really excited about the new commentary engine in Madden 13 and I'm hoping we'll get a studio halftime and weekly franchise show soon too. They are also talking about physics, kinda throwing the idea around, so yeah it's only going to get better, but I am stoked for Madden 12.

You're right, and it's also going to be Mike Young's first game as Creative Director and Roy Harvey's (former exec producer of NCAA) first year as exec prodcer of Madden, so yeah I bet Madden will be unreal next year. It's probably going to feel different than any other Madden we have seen. I know Cam's big thing is simulation football and making it look and feel like football and authentic to what you see on TV. Getting player movement to look realistic was one of the first things he mentioned when he came to the team.

Here's a sample of the interview with him in April

• First and foremost, we need to deliver an amazing simulation football gameplay experience on both of our franchises. In other words, our fans want to see fluid, realistic player movement and deep football AI and behaviors on the field. This includes what players are doing between the whistles in the middle of a play, and how they behave in our pre- and post-play moments as well.

• Another key component is authenticity. Whether it is delivering the unique sights and sounds, traditions and pageantry across the schools in college football, or the NFL experience that we’ve all come to know and love on Sundays. Our consumers count on us to pay attention to the details.

• On top of that, it is critical that we deliver compelling depth modes. Whether it is providing a rich and deep Franchise/Dynasty mode or Superstar/Road to Glory mode, we need to continue to continuously invest in making these modes as deep and as realistic as possible.

• In addition to those core components, we need to deliver compelling ways for our consumers to compete with one another in the online space. The foundation of our online sports game experience is social competition -- we need to continue to innovate in how we allow our consumers to compete against friends and other opponents, customize their game experience and to keep our product updated with content throughout the year.

I'm on Live silver until the game ships, so I downloaded the demo and got in a quick quarter before work. Very small sample size, but I'm liking the feel of the game.

-All-Pro is challenging. The Bears marched right down the field on the opening drive. I only got a couple of offensive plays in before having to leave for work.

-Still getting used to no suction (which is a great thing). On defense, I'm finding myself whiffing on tackles a lot, because I can't just run near the offensive player and trigger a tackle animation. I need to use that tackle button.

-The CPU quick snap is really annoying. Glad it will be fixed in retail.

-Game speed is definitely faster than the last Madden I owned (Madden 10). I'll be playing on Very Slow.

-Graphics and presentation look great.

I'll play a few games tonight and form a more well-rounded opinion, but I know that I can not wait to get the retail version.
