After putting more time in with the Demo, I have a much better feeling about Madden 12 than I did Madden 11 after its demo.

At this point, you either like EA's take on football games or you don't. I can accept both NCAA and Madden for what they are, and I think there are a lot of things EA does really well on the field. Are there flaws? Sure, just like with any game. Are these games on the level of NBA 2K or MLB The Show? No, but at least I am seeing improvement.

Not sure if it's been pointed out, but I'm pretty positive that the higher a player's consistency is, the longer it takes for DPP to kick in for them.

Example: Jay Cutler's been sacked 3 times. He is now nervous regarding sensing pressure and aggressive regarding forcing passes. Meanwhile, Rodgers has been sacked 5 times, and he's thrown an interception, but his tendencies haven't changed. I also noticed that after Cutler completed 2 or 3 passes in a row and then threw a beautiful TD pass to Johnny Knox, he went up to Average in sensing pressure and Ideal in forcing passes.

Yeah I got it once. The ball went right under AJ Hawk's legs and Robbie Gould dove on top of it.

But I have to say this feels like a brand new game. Nothing like Madden 10 and 11 IMO. It feels much tighter, looks amazing and I can already see myself putting in hundreds of hours in franchise mode for a few years. If the enhanced franchise mode features and DPP come through this game will be a classic.

I have always loved Madden and been a Madden guy. This game will not convert you if you have been down on Madden.

I feel the game will blow away 10 and 11.
How do you KNOW its an early build? I have tried on Twitter several times and not one person will confirm this is a PRE E3 build.

so far i like how the game plays

HOWEVER 2 THINGS
1. idk if its just me but i seems ea has turned down the speed, players dont seem as fast as they have in past years
2. switching between formations seems a lil laggy

I'm personally liking everything about it, sucks it has no commentary... But on Xbox 360, the controls are spot on and not delayed. It's a smooth feeling when running and when you get some good blocks, getting in the opening is great. I intercepted the ball and ran it back 20 yards before getting laid out. Last minute the CPU was doing hurry up offense plays to try to score again.

And trust me they did, then tried an onside kick, I laid the hit on him and he fumbled it, and I won the game.

Love the cutscenes to the sidelines with players not wearing helmets and their faces are on point.

Got a really large hit on my QB during a sack, and the guy gets up and celebrates with this big grin on his face. The facial details are remarkable.

I am playing this on a 46" Samsung D7000 LED and it looks fantastic. even tried to simulate a 2D-3D...and it was cool too.....

Love this game it's great so far, just from the demo.

Playing on Very Slow seems like Normal to me. Why did they speed it up? Isn't that the point of being able to adjust the speed? Could they patch this or is it a foregone conclusion?

Yea All-Madden is going to be beast mode this year. I might not have to crank my sliders up full blast just to get some competition from the CPU this year. I been having a rough time so far with the Demo. Haha! But I don't have my playbook and team so I'll see how it is at that time. Damn I can't wait until the game drops.. I hate the sliders are broken on the demo. I couldn't tweak nothing because it automatically drops the level down to rookie.

How are sliders vs. CPU cheating? The paying customer has the right to tailor any aspect of the game to his liking. If someone gets off on beating the CPU 100-0 every game, who cares? The more customization options the better. If you don't want to use them, don't. I do get it, and to each his own is right on.

I just played on very slow and it was much more enjoyable and realistic than normal. On normal, it felt like NFL Blitz and I got bored fast. Decided to try very slow and it was right on. I hope they change this online (UT) or I don't think I will purchase.

I've played two demo games so far; Both as GB. I have yet to score or allow an offensive TD. I lost the first game 13-6 (threw a pick 6) and I won the second 9-8 with a last second FG.

I have to say that Gameplay has exceeded my expectations. I usually don't play with GB but, it's going to be tough not to this year. I may have to use two teams in Franchise for the first time this Gen. I'm thinking of going with GB and Cleveland. That way I have a top 5 team and a team that's in the lower half of the league. It will be interesting to see the differences between the two throughout a season. What a great year for football fans.

i wouldn't pay attention to this guy....he's already made it known that he's set in his ways and sliders are only used to cheat the game.

Some of these fellas are making no sense at all

Is there anyway to turn off that annoying cutscene every time after you pick a play ? I just want to get my defense set up. I know you can press A to hurry it up but it is still pretty annoying.

Exactly. I guess it cheating if I play on default AA across the board with the exception of bumping the CPU Running Ability and Run Blocking +15 too, right? Especially, since in most football games I've played the CPU running isn't that great out of the box.

Sliders are as important to sports games as picking the minute per quarter that you play. They've done nothing but, make the user experience better. Personally, I wouldn't play a football, baseball or basketball game that didn't have them. The only game that I play that doesn't is UFC and I'd love to see THQ add them *crosses fingers

I loved 2k Football.. My biggest gripe with Madden is the deep
passing (Precision) does not lead it to where I pass it..

The demo, not only could I lead guys, but I could moved them
off their route..You will still get a pass here and there that is
not in the direction you aim. I would say 70% of my throws
were where I wanted them to be.. I was also purposely
aiming in random directions to see if it would do it..

I am impressed with this..I am sure the demo is pretty
raw, so hopefully small details will be addressed.. I for
one had a great time with the demo..

I am leaning a purchase this year.. maybe even on release day..

I'm so glad I don't see all of the problems that some on here do or else nothing would be good enough for me. It seems like some people (the minority, but still) watch replay after replay to find little issues with the gameplay that isn't obvious otherwise and then say screw it this game still sucks where is 2k and so on and so forth. If some of you do have high standards and stick by them then I respect that it's your decision but it just seems like we could all just loosen our ties for a little bit and just enjoy some football. Just trying to keep things positive haha

The only thing that bothers me is the cut scenes after picking a play. Gives you no time to adjust anything at the line...

Another Demo game I wanted to see how well the CPU players played and two Bears receives had over 50 yards PER RECEPTION.

For grins I did that spectator mode on both All Pro and All Madden and watched for a while. Bad things happened. Now I can only control one of those players at a time to try and make that one player play better.

But really, a CPU vs CPU (or in the demo it's called spectator) should result in good/smart football that produces realistic results. And it did not. Now I haven't messed with sliders in the demo much at all. But may things I see are things I've seen in previous Maddens that I've had a hard time trying to get realistic results.

The game is more arcade than sim. Much of the OS staff that reviewed the Demo thinks the same thing (if you have read the OS Staff impressions thread).
I'm in agreement with you. When you make the game play CPU vs. CPU, you get to see the true colors of the AI, or the game in its "natural" state.

Just skimming through this thread, which has gotten considerably bigger in the last few days.. so excuse me if this hasn't been discussed.

You guys do know that if you adjust one little thing in sliders, it defaults to rookie right? Those of you who think you've adjusted and tweaked the game to your liking on All pro or All Madden are actually playing on ROOKIE setting.

To prove it.. all you need to do is change any little thing by one increment in sliders. The game will get considerably easier across the board.

I was almost fooled into thinking All Pro was giving me a decent football experience after adjusting my sliders. But they are simply broken. Why even include them in the demo?

After a day of playing on All Pro, no slider adjustments.. the game is a rental at best for me. The programming in this game is beyond reproach. I really dislike being cheated to death by the same stuff every year.. i.e. psychic dbs, super lbs. The works. This garbage is still in the game.
