I could get right on the guy and mashing the tackle button doesn't do anymore than get you knocked away by the runner. I know it's Bama and all, but sheesh.
Wow you kind of bad at tackling. Keep playing more and you will get the hang of it. Even on heisman I held Alabama under 100 yards rushing.

But what makes no sense is my guys are right on top of them, and then it just won't finish the tackle. As far as I know, it should be as simple as using the tackle button when you are on top of the guy, but it's either never finished or a broken tackle.

Wasn't happy with the 2 minute quarters which doesn't even add up to 1 real quarter, also wanted to see more of Oregon's offense. SO i decided to punt every time I got the ball on 1st down just to see them have more plays ( i didn't take any offensive snaps).

Saw the Oregon QB scramble once in each game. Crushed all but one of their option plays with ease.
QB seemed to think he had 10 seconds in the pocket and payed with getting sacked a lot. Same problem as in past with screens , CPU/AI will call the HB screen then not pass to him and get sacked or try to throw to a WR downfield when there is no pocket to step up in.

Only success they really had was in normal running plays.

First game was 10-0 to Oregon the second was 16-0 to Texas (me) blocked a punt out the endzone for 2 pts when i had them pegged at the 1yd line , and returned two fumbles.

Now some of the above things can hopefully be fixed with sliders and patch. BUT here's the kicker.

I only played defense like i said but never took control of any player just called the formation and play, like a D coordinator.
But I only ever called the same play in every formation 2 under man.

If i can destroy the CPU/AI just calling the same play wrecking their option run game how does this bode for the final game. I scored 16 pts in one game without even taking 1 offensive snap, how can that be ?

So if i can crush a team calling just one play it will be easy being a defensive coordinator.

Not impressed..

Did the same thing again in a third game as Texas vs Oregon and it finished 0-0 didn't play OT as i thought it pointless. So in 3 games or 24 minutes Oregon only scored 10 pts against me calling the same play for all 3 games.

Explain this to me EA ?

Shotgun no-huddle offense. Crossing routes and curls are still very hard to stop for the CPU apparently. Zone coverage is supposedly fixed but I could still zip passes in with ease on Heisman.

You could say I was cheesing and not playing simulation style, which is true, but I was looking for holes in the AI logic and they're just as evident now as they were last year.

Sounds like too much 1-on-1. Try having more players flying to the ball. Perhaps you're blitzing too much and not leaving enough players back to stop a run or quick pass (Engage 8 is a stupid play for this reason).

Haven't been gashed too horribly with running, but the CPU has called a couple of beautiful screens, including an 80+ yarder with Florida State that the blocks were set up perfect and it was off to the races. Didn't help I still suck at using the tackle button in pursuit.

So my roommate and I logged 3 more user games just now. The spread is definitely hard to stop. The problems we noticed, on both heisman and AA setting, is Man gets destroyed by any route that breaks inside, man doesnt align properly after any audible or tight formation, some of the quad formations just absolutely destroy any zone you try because guys are uncovered off the line and you can just quick hit em every time

And you're going to resort to name calling now because I have had a different experience than you? From what I have seen RB's play better in the demo than they did last year. I am seeing RB's cut outside, break back inside, etc. LMJ broke off a 75 yard run on me because he cut outside and just outran everyone down the sidelines. FSU did the same thing pretty much. They ran what looked like a dive, but then after 4-5 yards the RB started towards the sidelines and one of my players ended up pushing him out of bounds after 50 or so yards.

Am I saying RB logic is perfect? No, but it is definitely improved and other people have also said that as well. I understand you have pretty much bashed this demo to hell so far, but when someone else has a positive experience with the game, don't call them names because you haven't had one.

Hey, you got any tips for getting off blocks? That's where my problem is. Last year, playing as the MLB, I could literally just move the left stick and my guy would shed. Now if I take on a dive straight up, the center just bowls my guy over. If I contact with a blocker then try to use my right stick, same thing.

I'm pretty good if I can stay clean, but it's getting caught up in traffic and not being able to get off the block that's killing me.

Yeah but you can't edit ratings in dynasty mode.

Maybe I'm missing something, and forgive me for not searching through this gigantic thread (I've searched, but found nothing), but can you not use the d-pad to move anymore on PS3?

# 1055 DEL1SLE @ 06/29/11 06:19 PM
Not sure if anyone else has found it, but playing as Oregon when calling tight punt Texas always aligns like you are going for it on 4th instead of sending out the punt return unit. Haven't tried it with any other team yet.

2 things that bugged me the play arc is visible and the fact that sometimes the yellow route line was waggling back and forth

Look in the options, can be turned off.

the fact that sometimes the yellow route line was waggling back and forth

That's what happens when you play as the away team in a big stadium.
Answers in bold...

How many times are you going to copy and paste this? I've counted three so far.

As far as the demo, I'm loving the fact that you really have to pay attention to defense this year. The days of hiking the ball and thoughtlessly chucking it to a planned receiver are over. If the defense is sending an extra blocker and you don't adjust it's sack city. Also, if you're a "throw it up and pray" type of guy you can expect to throw plenty of picks. Good stuff.

Wow this game is so easy on defense...
