I am playing the ps3 version and I don't know if anybody else has complained about this but.........
Why do you have to press the buttons on the controller so hard (and sometimes multiple times) to select a play, or anything in the menus for that matter. It's not my controller either, NCAA 11 doesn't have this problem (nor any other ps3 game I have). To me this is a huge annoyance.
The graphics were dissappointing, but not terrible. They just need to be cleaned up to get rid of the blurryness and jaggies.
Gameplay was good though (I am so ticked about the button issue I don't even want to talk about gameplay anymore at this point).
I am left with a decision now. Do I take the chance and spend $60 on this game despite the button problem hoping it will be fixed? The problem is I have no idea if this will be fixed in the final, retail version. Or do I stick with NCAA 11.
i havent played the demo but has anybody noticed the robo qb effect? (qb's completing 80% of their pass an their only incompletions are swats and ints) it was terrible in ncaa 11 after the tuning update that increased procedural awareness.

Nope. QBs will have bad passes that just miss sometimes
It is an early build. No question in my mind. The pass rush is overpowering. I had 5 sacks in the game that was only 8 minutes long total. That is crazy. Either it will be tuned down by retail or it will be toned down via sliders. I would bet this game will be tuned pretty well out of the box (like NCAA 11 was).
As far as a demo...it is ok nothing great. I think the most important thing for me was to feel and see the new tackling system and elimination of warping and suction.
Love it. And, having played plenty of ps3 demos in my time, it's pretty clear that the final product will be even prettier... the signs of "compression" are more than obvious.
I already have both games preordered and I am ready to play both Madden and NCAA but I dont understand how people that buy these 2 games every single year get so overly excited for them...I havent played NCAA since 09 and it feels the same except with a few minor tweaks...if this was 2010 then it wouldnt be such an issue but that was 3 years ago. But they have us trapped tho, unless u dont wanna enjoy any football games at all ur stuck with what you got...so really you dont have a voice to begin with unless we all boycott..reminds me of how people bitch and moan about politics but go out and vote anyway lol
Try this. Any difficulty. Any deep bomb route. Pump fake away from the WR going deep then throw to the deep one. If you have time it's a completion almost every time. I love 95% of the demo but I was really sad when I figured out that you could go deep every play. I was doing it with Texas FYI. That will need tuning.

Mission accomplished.
The game is going to be great come 7/12
I really wish more people played on heisman. Based on the demo I really think it is the way to go this year.

Going Heisman is only the way to go if you're a good enough player. There are a lot of different skill levels out there. Heisman mode would destroy the experience for us marginal players. Same thing with sliders - no perfect set. That's a pet peeve for another time ...
I can deal with most of the game being the same, but I was VERY disappointed that CPU qb's still dont run......FSU's QB had a WIDE open field on a 3rd and 9, yet he stood there for a sec, then fired a 40yd hail mary into coverage.

I normally play on AA but with slider adjustments to make it even more challenging. Last years game I played with Silent Natures's sliders and they were awesome as a great base that I tweaked here and there to my liking.
I have played on Heisman and I just feel the cpu is just too tough and it is just does not feel right for me. I love a challenge though and Custom All American is my sweet spot.
Back to impressions. I must say again how pleased I am with the HDR lighting and the gorgeous back ground skylines I am seeing. Really jaw dropping and this is just a compressed demo.
Oh yeah!! I just blew out Texas on Heisman 42-7. What the F? PA worked for two long TD passes.
Either way, I'm reading a lot about people saying the 360 looks far more incredible then the PS3 version. Can you, who have an Xbox please describe. I don't have a 360. Thanks
- Running animations needs work!!
- Presentation needs work... commentary is out dated. Come on EA get your stuff together. No one cares about Road to glory. Better Dynasty and Team Builder. Work on that. The hell with the rest.
- Tackling engine is progress, but I'm tired of seeing my guys bounce off when trying to make a tackle.
ok so i played acouple of games on xbox and this is what i have to say, play is to ez, there def is dumb on passing and running plays...
Tackles have improved, dreadlocks looked good... um i think thats it...
Graphics look like last yrs graphics.. nothing really changed there
Wont be buying this but come on... its just an upgrade of last yrs game... its time for them to just put out upgrades on xbox for 1000 gamer pts... Not worth 59.99... will be buying madden 12, just hope its a better upgrade than this game!
Real small sample size playing with Oregon (on AA) , I had success running the triple option & speed option. Also, was able to get a big gain from their QB running a Jet Power out of their "Wild Cat" formation. I even gained three yards on a draw
I had some other stuff to say but, I forget what it is now. Anyway, I'm pretty much done with the demo now as I'm sold on the improvements. Back to NCAA 11 for the next two weeks
edit: I remember something I was going to say... The Texas QB sailed the ball over his intended receivers head on multiple occasions. He also tossed on out of bounds while he was getting pressured. I saw that a couple of time in NCAA but, would love to see it more in 12.

I agree.. I was pretty much doing what I wanted to against the CPU on heisman besides the occasional pancake blocks the CPU planted my whole Dline with.. I can just imagine how bad All-American is.. I'm definitely going to have to get in the lab with the sliders for NCAA this year..

I have more, but I got to go.
The XBOX version is brighter, clearer and softer. It is a huge difference. So much so that with NCAA and Madden being the only games I play I will 100% be switching to XBOX if the retail versions are anywhere near this far off. I had the PS3 and XBOX version running side by side on split screen both hooked up with $4 HDMI cables bought off EBAY and obviously on the exact same TV and the difference actually made me mad cuz I am in a sweet OD on PS3 and I see no way I will be able to settle for the much worse graphics of PS3. As Jared said earlier if you never see the 360 vs the PS3 you probably won't care but IMO if you do you will be mad too.
