Never play any of the previous NCAA titles but after reading some of the impressions in this thread I decided to give it a try.

First, this game has to be the most beautiful football game to date. Players models, field, lighting, etc everything excels here.

After two games I have to give EA props for the new tackling engine, feels very solid and responsive. The animations are crazy fluid, Madden 11 look like a 8 bit game in comparison (ok, maybe not but you get the point).

Run offense seems a bit to powerful right now, maybe because the teams included in this demo have a very good rushing offense. I think slider work would help on this subject.

Really. The clocks starts back up after the play go out of bounds? I never knew that or I never really paid attention

That was a rule change a few years back I think.

Anyone else having a hard time running the option? Seems like every time I get ready to pitch the ball my QB gets swallowed up. I remember in past games his knee would be about 2 inches from the ground and he'd still flick it out to the RB haha more realistic or was it like this last year? (i took a year off)

I definitely have found TRADITIONAL option, like power, speed, triple, to be kinda awkward.

To be honest, I Dont mind the pitching being toned down, I think late pitches, especially online, are cheesy as heck and just look lame, but the problem isnt the pitch timing its that it seems like I just get swallowed by LBs

They definitely need to improve the cpu ball carrier vision logic. They are drawn to the middle of the field like a moth to a flame. As though they seek to intiiate contact instead of avoiding it.

I lost count how many times they would be on the outside with NOBODY in front of them and they will cut back to the middle of the field where everybody is.

Went from a sure TD to a 6 yard gain. SMH The cpu does this way too much when they are running.

And so far I haven't seen any defender push the pass blockers back into the backfield. they either get pancaked or they get by the pass blocker.

Option plays- no matter read option, traditional options, wr options, etc.- need to work correctly. Not better, just correctly.

What am I supposed to do when I run GT?

On the read options I have noticed that the DE seems to move like a fleet footed CB. Careful not to fix/tune too much though because then you render them ineffective in pass rushing.

Totally with you on this. And some lugnut on here tried to tell me RB AI had been improved. Not from what you and I have seen.

I'm seeing the exact opposite of this. CPU RB AI has been outstanding in every game I've played.

Well it may not be perfect, but its a lot better. You guys remember NCAA 11? Even with CPU RBA at 100 they would just cover the ball up and run straight into defenders. At least in the demo I see spins, jukes, cutbacks

Its not perfect but IT IS BETTER

ALso, whoever said they cant run the read option in the demo, are you positive? In my last 3 games with Oregon I have had a 50+ yard run with either THomas or LMJ on a read option play. This is on heisman
I only played one game as Oregon so far and felt the read option worked well enough (when I read the cues right, ha!). Nothing like it was last year. That was on All-American.

D-Line Jumping too high still. I get picked off a ton because of this

Are you guys playing on Heisman? b/c I see a big difference in CPU running between AA and Heisman.

Man I 'm really enjoying heisman is a nice and welcomed challenge .The prob I see with CPU running on heisman is that the cpu pancakes the dline way to often but I do like the pancake animations. Another thing on heisman CPU breaks on the ball a lil better than hum defenders. And CPU CB are a lilk too aggressive on the run. Overall i've seen a few minor issues but not any that just stand out as WTF this game is crap. I think minor sliding tweaking will make this game alot of fun. B/C i'm having fun with the demo. Def more fun than I had with 11. Just a much more polished game IMO.

I'm not expecting to be able to run every down with the QB, but occasionally I should be able to get a defender to bite on the HB run and keep it for some yardage.
Well, because I still struggle with both the read on the read option, and then sometimes actually getting the hand off to work when I want it to, I had my QB keep it a few times and I think he was about +6 yards once, line of scrimmage once and loss of yards once.

Bah! Give me a straight up pro-style offense any day. :-)

Still so mad that the Burnt Orange is not the correct shade and how crappy the field looks. Pixalated BIG 12 logo looks like dog crap. I play on a great TV so I know its not that. Im hearing pleanty of others upset with this as well. MLB The Show looks amazing on my TV then i turn my xbox on to play this demo and I feel like in playing an OG xbox game. SUper dissapointed in how awful the field looks. Maybe ill download the ps3 demo and see if its any better

right on. the orange is off. maybe UT won't allow them to use burnt orange? Of course, in all fairness to EA, the orange on the field @ the real DKR is not really burnt orange either....

i noticed the big 12 logo too, lame..

I've only played one game of the Demo, but my initial impressions are mostly positive. I like the graphics, the tackling animations, the run blocking and inaccurate throws by myself and the CPU.

Same here. Richardson gashed me for a couple of huge runs today and it was a thing of beauty.

Maybe it is just me, but in every game I've played, the tackling is just weak. Is there a trick to the new tackling system I missed out on? I just played as FSU vs. Bama and I had about 8 missed tackles and they put a good 200 yards rushing on me... IN 2 MINUTE QUARTERS!?!? I could get right on the guy and mashing the tackle button doesn't do anymore than get you knocked away by the runner. I know it's Bama and all, but sheesh.

Seriously it looked so awkward how the HB who had the clear path to the endzone straight ahead, decides to cut on a dime and sprint left towards the sideline.

Was it an attempt to chew the clock?
his ball carrier vision and pursuit rating is probably bad

the good thing is RB logic is really easy to fix in NCAA via ratings if EA doesn't do it on their own
