Tell us then, how would you make the grass look realistic from 30 feet in the air and give us the "visual perception" that the players are on real grass? I'd really like to know. Honestly. I think it looks perfectly fine in the demo and much better than years past.

All I can say is why don't I have any time to pick a defensive play? This was the case last year as well. Can this not be remedied? Particularly with more plays I want to look at least through a couple of sets before settling. This is ********.

No there isn't. The angle from which you play the game would make it impossible to differentiate thousands of around 1 inch blades of grass from each other.

They might as well be walking on concrete, the perception from that angle makes it look almost completely flat, and blended in.

I wish this game had a slider similar to the shows regarding game speed. Not like actual game speed like the one we have but like how in the show you can have the pitcher take his time in between pitches or have him work really fast. In NCAA this could be having the cpu qb take his time and run the play-clock down if it is on slow.

Some thing I noticed:

-Defensive tackles look amazing
(I called a CB BLitz from both sides, Left CB runs in, QB runs to the right, where he is met by the right side CB. Guys can get tackled mid spin move. Tackle animations vary a lot)

-Special Teams is better
(Almost blocked a kick. Better returning. I saw a muffed punt, which didn;t exist in 12)

-Traditions = Awesome

-Commentary Sounds Better
(A couple new lines, I think. I like the "So how does ____ run their offense?" line.)

I really don't get all the hate. This feels far better than 11

I think he is basically saying there is an easier way to get grass to look like "real grass" other than the spotted grass we have now, which is completely true if that is what he is saying. The grass in that picture looks nothing like the spotted grass in the game.

Thank you. The 3D grass crying should now be over. I said the same thing earlier.

Carry on...

I really like the demo and the new tackling is much smoother than years past.
I played both games, once as FSU lost 17-0 on Heisman and lost 14-0 as Texas.

The Cpu can run on me so I hope that the tuner sets don't kill this and maybe make it tougher. I also like the lighting but the crowd noise is not very loud!!

But overall I am very happy and can't wait till July 12!! Go Noles!!

The read is still off of the DE. If he comes charging give it. If he sits run it. Although the play really seems to work either way. Going to experiment with it more.

Alright folks.

I have played 18 CPU games and 3 user games. 2 of the user games were set to heisman, the other AA. 17 of the CPU games were heisman, the other on AA.

Here are my concrete, bottom line views of the demo, PS3 version.

A.) Blocking is better. No way you can't say it is somewhat improved. Shotgun runs are better for both CPU and user and PA passes are better as well. The last 11 times I ran PA I was only sacked once and 5 of those times I found a guy downfield for a big gain.

B.) Tackling looks much better. It grew on me, I didn't really notice it at first, but tackling is definitely improved. Also, pass rush is better. Please dont complain about this to the devs. Please dont ask them to make CPU rushing and pass rush less aggressive, we NEED THIS. The CPU needs to have BITE. It is GOOD right now.

C.) CPU rarely scrambles on Heisman. They need to fix this. Coverage on AA is too easy to pass on, but on heisman the CPU will rarely scramble and on AA I have seen the CPU qb take off 6 times in one game.

D.) The PS3 demo looks significantly inferior to the 360. In fact, after I had played it all day, my roommate came home and played an NCAA 11 dynasty game and I could argue that it looks worse than NCAA 11 which is just really disappointing. Really hope this got tweaked for the release because it clearly is lacking detail and sharpness that the 360 demo has, also, the replays on long plays were cutoff again jsut like last year.

E.) AA is way too easy. Heisman feels a lot better except for massive pancake blocks by CPU o line and lack of CPU scrambling on heisman.

F.) On heisman, it is fun to play as oregon and against them, good stuff.

G.) Please fix the PS3 graphics. Again, I stress it only because its a big difference this year.

H.) User game felt weird on heiman. Our defenders were just sitting back letting guys catch the ball...

Edit:

Last thing, the crowd in my PS3 demo is dead. Sorry. Its just dead. I get that this year was a presentation year but crowd noise is one of the best parts of NCAA sports presentation...

Yea, to all those saying the PS3 version looks poor, it's probably because it's a demo. I'm sure I will have my amazing 1080p quality back in no time.

# 733 dochalladay32 @ 06/29/11 12:11 AM
Severe lack of penalties. I haven't seen a single one called.

EDIT: Speak of the devil, they called one!

For everyone saying AA is too easy, maybe it has to do with your play style? NCAA 11 was super easy regardless of sliders and level for me, but I've been struggling all over the place on AA in the demo. I can't pass the ball to save my life, and have been throwing some really ugly passes, and have been screwing up on defense.

In response to D and G.

D) I thought my eyes were going bad or something, but after seeing the Pastapadre videos, Wow thats a big graphic drop to the PS3.

G) What are the chances this gets fixed???

Just trying to imply that i think EA overdid the 3d grass on replays that is all.

TLDR to the rest of this thread so heres my observation

two things i worried about most seem to be better

1-Teams running much better... not sure about option though i stuffed it against oregon a few times, hopefully it gets better

2-psychic defense seems gone. I really mixed it up with oregon and i never saw the defense in a 4-3 against 3wr. THANK GOD!!

Anyone got a good read on the offense running the option, i really dont want GA tech to be so easy to beat again this year.

It is too long, but I actually like it that way, even though it is a little unrealistic. It adds a really great graphical flare to the game.

Some quick vids from Iphone:

I let CPU drop back and I passed:

Same here: Loved how the RB stepped over to pick up a block

Didn't record this "live" but grabbed the end of replay

CPU Run

CPU PASS:
