Lol I'm in the minority still but I actually like playing this game. Its pretty fun especially on defense where I've got some cool user controlled blocks. They didn't look great but just for the fact that it was all under my control and I timed the whole thing was great.

I'm also loving that we can choose either hand we want to steal with. Its a cool feeling when you can guess how a player is going to move and strip him, then go to the other for a slam.

On offense I'm still trying to figure out the dribble system when tryin to beat my man. The times I've been able to get past my man are when I had separation and tried to use his momentum against him.

I gotta keep workin on it but I think I'll figure it out eventually. The post game is pretty fun to use if you take the time to learn some of the moves. Overall the shooting is working me I'm loving shots close to the basket like layups, but jumpers are killing me I'm missin everything still lol!

I can't seem to knock down a lot of shots. I'm missing all kinds of way airballed a few shots and bricked many. The hard thing about it is in game shots are a lot harder without the shot indicator. Even though I can see how I missed it I'm still not sure if I'm putting enough power on the shot or not.

I'm going to keep playing around with it b/c I think I'll figure it out. Overall my best bets right now is to play lock down D and post up on the other end with Pau.

Now for the negatives for all the nice things I'm feeling with the controls they are looking terrible on screen LOL! The blocked shots look funky as hell and some of my steals have been a lil WTF!! sometimes.

I'm looking past a lot of it because the control is a lot of fun to use, but I can see how this is going to turn off a lot of guys. Overall the game has been a lot of fun to play but it looks downright ugly a lot of times. Contextual animations are going to need a lot of work next year for sure.

So basically I would say the game is a lot of fun for me to play but it loses a lot of points due to animations. Right now I'm going to give the game 7.0 because it is fun for me to play but the genericness of it isn't good at all.

Back to playing the game for me....

When posting up do you just do different movements with the R stick or do you need to hold another button at the same time? I'm getting pretty good with the controls but posting up is tough for me...

Moving the shot stick left or right only results in bricks or airballs. If this isn't tweaked, you can put precision shooting on EA's massive "gimmicks" list. I'm sorry.....but it's time to delete Elite.
all my shots that went in have not been swish

this game is good...i dont see 1 thing wrong with it and before ppl start goin crazy on me.....its only the first year of this game give it time....if u dont like it go play 2k...thats why we have two games

I think this game is an excellent base for a basketball game. But at this point I dont think people want a base they want a polished product. And Elite is not polished. I guess I wasnt expecting much because when the direction of a game is scrapped the 1st year usually is a base game.

There are some positives ,but as of now the negatives strongly out weight the good.

Gentlemen, if you think this game is terrible that's fine. However, you can't just post "this game sucks" without backing it up with reasons you feel that way. Same goes with posting "this game is great".

After playing the 2K demo I don't understand how someone would want to play, and buy this game.

I hate the controls. Had to turn them off, and go back to the classic controls. They weren't as responsive as I wanted them to be in the demo. I would go up for a dunk, and instead my player would do a leaning jumpshot.

The player graphics are average at best, (looks like NBA 09 Inside) they have this bland and glossy look, which I don't like at all. It's time for EA to overhaul the graphics, and animation system in this game!!

I couldn't play more than 10 minutes of the demo. It was frustrating to see. Uninstalled the demo, and I asked myself why did I waste my time with this game?!? Thank God for the competition!
This is exactly how I felt when I played it the first go around, played it a 2nd go around and had to delete it. I love the NBA and this was not a good representation. To me the gameplay just isn't fluid and is just not ahead of the competition.

What a weird feeling. The game has a bit of a fun factor. but thats only obtained after throwing out any expectations about CPU AI or teammates, and just sitting down and freestyling it up. I could see this as being as fun user vs. user party game.. an NBA "Simulation" it is not.

On a nba sim scale, I would give it a 6 of 10. As a basketball game in general, a solid 7

In all seriousness, this game will not win over any 2k fans. It's totally inauthentic. What I mean is, all the players look and feel essentially the same. There's no uniqueness to players. Everyone is just a carbon copy of each other that is either taller or shorter and faster or slower. When you play 2k's extremely limited demo you can see Kobe be Kobe and even Garnett be Garnett. When I play this Elite 11 demo, I don't feel any of that. That being said, perhaps Live/Elite fans don't care about that.

As for Live/Elite fans, I think some more will be lost this year. The move to Elite will undoubtedly alienate fans of Live 10 - it's too much of a change. The inclusion of NBA Jam, however, will mask their loss as even fans of 2k probably want to play NBA Jam. So my final conclusion is: If Elite 11 didn't have NBA Jam included, this would be a devastating year for EA Sports basketball. By including it though, they can mask the fact that their product has diminished in quality again because there's no real way of distinguishing a sale of Elite 11 based on the pure want for Elite 11 vs. sympathy/nostalgia buys for NBA Jam.

IT is really almost mind blowing at what a big step backwards from last year this is.

I thought i had the dribble moves figured out and how to get past someone but i jumped the gun in saying that. it only lasted a few games and then after that it was back to fisher being stuck on me and rondo like glue. At times i can break his ankles but half the time its like i cant go nowhere

I think everyone that is enjoying the demo agree that things like crazy and weird at times but its fun to play

i have been messing around with kg in the post.
I will tap the r stick to the left or right and he does a little shimmy,

if you press r stick either way he spins that way if you,

if you do the layup motion from the post you get a hook shot either way,

if you push up he does a turnaround, and tapping up gives you a pump fake up and under

and if you tap L2 and push the left stick in a certain direction you get a hop step in that direction

I can't believe they would release a demo and not know what is happening in the demo. This stuff gets tired and old not knowing stuff like rocket dunks exist in your product until the consumer points it out

not knowing if ref's move on the floor until the consumer points it out...

what's next the ball not being apart of the game

I would actually prefer playing Live 03 to be honest.

Well... I'm not really sure what to say honestly that hasn't already been, but it's still hard to grasp a series, five or so years into its life, taking major steps backwards to start ANOTHER 3-year plan.

I realize the dev team worked hard on this title, obviously they did, and I know they take pride in their work, but this game is just... disappointing. Graphically, fundamentally, everything, it's just not up to snuff. ESPECIALLY when considering how good last year's game played and looked. It was heading in a VERY good direction, then BAM, all that work is gone and we start over.

I GET the philosophy, I really do, but it is too late into this generation to be trying something like this. And if you ARE going to start over, you need to take a year off so that your "first" product releases in much better shape than what we have with Elite.

Again, just very, very disappointing.

OK. been banging my head with this demo for a few hours and I just want everyone to know that this is not NBA Live.

the gather/euro step button is very key in driving to the basket/low post, I think I'm finally getting the hang of it, once I forget those Live moves I'll be good..

the Devs weren't lying you have to "feel" the controls, it's nothing like any other basketball game.

I think it will take Veteran Live players atleat a couple of weeks to get used to this game, it was frustrating at first cause the controls are VERY different from what we are used to...

I'm still copping day one, hopefully by the time the game drops, I'll be used to the controls.

I have this problem too when i try to icon pass to a specific player with RB + LB. The delay is annoying.

On some possessions the AI seems to go brain dead. Ron Artest posted me up and just dribbled in the same spot for the whole possesion.

EDIT: OK I must be on the penalty kill because its 4 on 5 basketball advantage Lakers. Pierce is Jesus in the middle of the floor.
