NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

The NBA Elite 11 demo is available for PS3 users. If you don't see it, just use the search function in the PSN Store, it weighs in at 923 MB.

The 360 demo should be arriving at around 5:00 - 9:00AM EST. When it is available, we will update this post.

I want all of you to get back on impressions or be banned. Who cares what other people's opinions are...none of you can tell someone what to post and what not to post.

The sounds, love the ball bouncing on the floor, rim and net sounds... commentary no were near as bad as I thought it would be after watching the vid's, I like it. The crowd emotion is great and really adds a lot too the game. Ok now that I'm hooked on playing the game I go back to the 2k demo to do some comparison and wow ELITE you ruined it for me, my player feels out of control, moves are hard to pull off,it feels sluggish and well just blah to me. So then I find myself turning on my xbox 360 and playing the Elite demo more than 2k's, I keep going back trying to make myself like playing 2k's more than Elites But I can't... but why, 2k's got it all the player sig moves that look perfect tons and tons of cool animations, AI plays better. Why,because Elite is just more fun and I have so much more control. Is Elite the prettiest game to watch, no. There are a lot of bad animations and wtf moments in this game, but guess what there in 2k also, they just have tons of great animations so people can live with it. And I know people complain about rocket dunks in Elite and they should, but I'm about tired of seeing K.G. hit turn around jumper's from all over the court with Gasol all up in his face in the 2k demo. And it too has it share of well he shouldn't have been able to do that dunk moments. Elites AI needs a lot of help, to many wrong things going on here, 2k seems much better here but not perfect. In both games I pulled players off their man and ran them off the court to see how the AI would respond, and well they didn't...2ks was a little better but still had problems knowing how to react to this. Bottom line neither game is really a sim game in my mind, they are both videogame basketball not even close to a real broadcast nba game, yea 2k has all the window dressing this year, Jordan and tons of other things packed into their game, but if the core of the game is no fun to me then none of those other things matter, the gameplay will become stale to were I can't enjoy all of those things. Elite doesn't have all that window dressing but once you learn how to play it and learn the controls it's just fun, and I hope they stay the course and fix the AI problems add sig's and all the cool looking animation's for the players without hurting the control we have now. I think you guys have a good foundation here... now stay with it!! I know 99.9% of the people on here will disagree with me but I think I would rather play Elite with all it's warts than watch a lot pretty animations on 2k.

Ok o i just played the demo again, and i'm good with the controls now, and I gotta say once you learn how to handle the ball and player, this game is so much fun.

I can imagain how fun it would be playing online, I probly wont get this game on release, but i think i'll buy it eventually, maybe black fri.

I just had that ballerina glitch happen to me while playing 1 on 1. I tried passing the ball to the other player, the ball went off of the screen, other player lost control of his player and my player would move but if I just stood there it was a continuous circle.

This video represents what in my opinion are the problems with rebounding in Elite.

There is no consistent boxing out, sometime they look great, but sometimes it is just a mess, when the ball is up in the air nobody should be with their back to the basket, and there should be a logic, about some big-men just boxing out, and others going for the rebound based on what each player does in real life

Just to give an example, I remember the cavs, when they had LBJ, you would see big guys just boxing out their man, and you would see LBJ coming from the perimeter and just go for the rebound like there is nobody else on the floor, that is team rebound strategy, if the opposing big men are boxed out, there is no way that someone can consistently out rebound james because of the physical tools

And of course, there should not be no one jumping to the ball, if they didn�t even make eye contact with it, there is no way Paul Pierce knows were that ball was going

Great vid HD but that was one of the first times I had heard Van Gundy and Mark Jackson not speak for that long. It was all Breen for the longest, maybe it happens all the time and I just don't know it...

The crowd sounds great just like a game at the staples center, real authentic. And for the most part when all three of them are interacting they sound great too.

Definitely a major upside for that area of the game. Real interested to hear your opinion on the controls so I'll be on the lookout for that next vid...

i just downloaded this demo just to try it and it is bad. I mean i can see that the controls are new. But just bad, i could delete it from my 360 quick had to play the 2k11 demo to get the dirty feeling i had. Cant remember i worse demo of NBA game. So happy EA held back from releasing this on Tuesday.
