Agreed.

But, that is the thing ReEanimator, no one is complaining about the controls. Don't change that. The controls are natural and a fresh, fun approach to video game basketball.

However, excluding game play and sound, Elite is behind 2k in every other tangible aspect of recreating NBA basketball. You name it. Animations, AI, Association(Franchise), TV style integration, NBA integration.

Now I don't claim to know how hard it is to program anything but getting guys in there to have people perform NBA caliber animations on motion cap should be your #1 priority as of today for Elite 12.

You want me to repeat everything else you're reading? You want me to continue to pound on what is not realistic?

How about one of you supporters challenge my Live 10 video mix and make a better one since you think the controls are better for us.

I dont like much of anything about this game at all, graphics, gameplay, AI, footplanting or lack thereof..

What else do you need? Go read all of my posts, my convo with the devs.. I've said enough, look at my thread about physics and how Live 08 looks way better than this game in collisions. The stuff thrown around here about suction, well Live 08 didnt have suction in it and it, so whats so special about this game again?

I mean my goodness, 280lb PFs jumping from the ft line... taking off from almost the vert.. the changed controls when there was no real need for one.

Its not even worth me going on about. Someone needs to point out the issues but at this point it doesnt matter anyway. Decisions have been made about the game regardless of what long time fans thought or think now.

So you dont like the game? Thats funny because you sure post in here a lot , and you also say it is not even worth you going on about , so I guess we wont be seeing you back in here again then?

I'll see if I can prod our producers to answer some questions on that.

Aside from EASBA and Legendary mode which were the main focus for this year, I'm not educated enough on the modes and changes made this year to give you a very good answer.

2 Thumbs up on the Legendary mode....A pleasant surprise to start the demo, hopefully It will be a great game mode on the actual release

Now that would be "The Truth". Pun intended.....

I've read it, haven't replied yet, but it is definitely patchable. Quite easily.

What I wanted to find out before I replied was if it was already fixed for retail or not.

Still haven't got that answer though...
Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to the official answer because I'm exclusively an online gamer. This would be a game killer for me.

23 is as fair as anyone.

Its okay to like, and not like the game for whatever reason.

It gets frustrating though, because there have conveniently been a lot of rookie accounts showing up since the demo release, created just this month, spouting off carbon copy apexisfree youtube lines.

Ill post wherever I want to post. This is a discussion board, not a board dedicated to all things positive Elite.

Thats your problem if you cant deal with it. At least spend more time here to know whats going on before you decide to call someone out, and your next post in here should be an impression or you're violating the TOS

That said, I've said my peace and I was on topic with what I posted.. give it a rest

Reanimator, I was wondering if you can tell us if the substitution patterns are fixed this year?

Love how people use the fact that they have been on a forum longer than someone else in order to point out how valid their point is, I will leave it at that my friend.

I'm the opposite, I've got a real handle on shooting and I worry about it becoming too easy very soon. I hope they really tune the shooting difficulty harder for Superstar.

The reality is that this game is really risky. You're just not going to get past many people putting it in and not giving it the time needed to start getting into it. It's not easy to get used to a brand new movement system and it's going to be VERY awkward. Graphically is grows on you. I really think graphically it's better than 2K, though all the little touches aren't quite there.

What really needs work is the individuality of each player and I think EA knows that. That's one thing that separates other the NBA from other sports, there's a great deal of individuality that's easily noticeable in every single aspect. Not only from person to person but from position to position. Making a PF not be able to do things a PG can do is a big deal and helps lend quite a bit to the legitimacy of a basketball game.

Beyond that, the AI needs quite a bit of tweaking as it seems that's where the largest step backwards seems to be. Maybe I'm wrong, but it really doesn't play as solid a game of basketball as last year's game.

If EA really wants to win some of us, I wonder how much can be patched to improve gameplay and AI decision making. Still, as hard as I was on this game initially, the foundation is there. I don't know if I'm in the majority though, as far as people who are going to give Elite the time needed. I also don't think most people will be happy waiting yet again to have a game that's really well done. I've said "trust me, this game is almost there" several times now. Again I have to to say, "well, it's probably 2 years again... they redid quite a bit...." That's hard.

And rEAnimator, thanks for your accessibility, even with all the negativity. I think putting in the time and effort this year to patch problems, improve AI, etc, will be worth it to win over quite a few people. A lot of time and effort now by your team would go a long ways rather than "wait until next year."

5 days to get motivated to even try this demo

15 minutes to download

2 to install

5 in a tutorial

1 minute of regular play against the Lakers

10 seconds to scrap the new controls

1 minute of demo with old controls

press exit game

press triangle to delete

30 seconds to decide this title has lost my business for the duration of the current 3 year plan

This is the typical timeline around here and why the game is slammed so hard...10 seconds to scrap the new controls? Now that's giving it a chance

Sometimes when you know you just know, like if a 4 star restaurant serves you burnt chicken you dont eat it until it tastes good, you tell the waiter; what is this ish, im not paying for this. Ea sports burnt and put a booger in my chicken and im hungry, also why am i projected first round with 5 turnovers in to be legendary?

The controls really aren't that difficult to understand and aren't what most people don't like about the demo.

Exactly. Controls are hardly the main issue with this title.

Also, how would the underlined part apply to gaming ? You don't play it until it looks good ? You don't play it until it feels good ?

In my opinion, your analogy doesn't make complete sense.
In my opinion you lack common sense because its not that complicated. The analogy is you try the product even though it looks unattractive and realize its exactly what you thought it was at first glance. You dont have to play the demo for 2-3 hours to know it doesnt appeal to you, not that complicated.
