Flick the stick very rapidly for the in and out move, but to do the double cross you want to make a more drawn out movement of left to right.
For the double cross don't flick the stick. Move it to the left and then move it to the right.

For you guys that play on broadcast cam do you have any tips with the isomotion? I have been practicing my butt off and I still can't get everything. One problem I have is trying to remember everything, I get frustrated.

I've played broadcast cam for as long as I can remember and now it's just second nature for me to execute moves at will. All I can say is practice, then practice some more. Point the stick where you want the ball to go is about the only way I can explain it. The more court time you have the easier it becomes and the less thought you have to put into each move.

If you have the ball in your right hand, you only have to do it from 3 o'clock to 6 o'clock, back to 3 o'clock. (Half Spin). In & Out, instead of 9 & 3, think 10 & 2. That made it easier for me.

Ok while playing a crew game, I saw someone post up at the top of the paint...do a fake towards the left, then pivot back around all the way to the right and shoot. It didn't look like an up and under, because they rotated all the way around on their pivot (like from 10 o'clock counter clockwise to 2 o'clock)

Anyone know how to do this, or what I'm talking about?

# 486 eDotd @ 03/12/11 02:28 AM
This?

Am I close? When you say fake I'm not sure if you mean the little shoulder shim or the fake that's in the gif above.

I mean the fake like in your pic. But Kobe keeps going clockwise on his pivot, the guy i saw went counterclockwise after the fake. It looked a lot like the dream shake move you can do when you run <- and you press shot stick -> but it was initiated from the post.

I can't find any video footage of it being done in 2k11, but this is what it looked like (except it was at the top of the paint).

I contacted the guy who did it, he said he saved it because he never saw it before either and didn't remember how he did it. But he will upload it and get back to me.

How do you lean into the defender for the foul when he jumps on a pumpfake?

# 491 tcnumba10 @ 03/15/11 12:55 PM
Is it just me or does the cpu defender over-reacts too much even without the user using iso-motion. For example when I'm just standing at one spot dribbling the ball and i move slightly to the left/right side without using turbo or isomotion dribbling, the cpu will over-react and jump to the left/right side while opening up and giving me an open drive to the basket!

1:36 and up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glmy5OBUkbw

There seem to be too much momentum even when I (the user) is dribbling with an average ball handler against a cpu good defender. Is there a way to fix this over-reaction (momentum)by the cpu defender? I hope they fix it for 2K12, somehow reduce this.

# 492 Pared @ 03/15/11 01:04 PM
Yes, this is something I'm sure that will be worked on for next year.

They are trying to jump the spot but do it a little too much. Plus, since the charge call isn't 100% correct, it's somewhat useless/pointless this year.

Both sticks toward the defender.

I can't get by anyone.....lolll.....also, the few times I do get by a defender, and I try to shoot the ball (stick or button), I just go up for a jumper. But the CPU can drive to the hoop as soon as they catch a pass and they're outside of the paint. What gives? Also, how do I avoid that pause after using the pro-hop?

My advice to you is to take your finger off the turbo button. Use size up moves and hesitations to get the D out of position. Then when they are out of position, go the other way. This should help you get around defenders. As for the jumper when you want to drive, just make sure you have a clear path to the basket before you push the shot stick, if you don’t have a clear path use one of the modified layup(L2+(toward, away, right, or left of the basket on the PS3). This will work most of the time, but even I sometimes get a jumper when I am pretty sure I should be executing a layup/dunk. The pro-hop/sig gather button always has a slight pause at the end of it. There are modified shots that look like a shot right after a pro-hop but they are really one continuous animation sequence.
Ex
L2+ right(I think, might be left) of basket is hop step lay up(continuous motion)
There is also a hop step you get when hitting Triangle on the PS3 that does not have a shot at the end of it. You just pick up your dribble and hop step
Another Ex.

L2 + away from basket will give you the spin layup.
There is a spin move you can get by hitting triangle that just spins and pick up the dribble.

Mixing these up can throw shot blocker's timing off!

ah yes, the "sprint/run-a-bit-harder" button.....I swear LeBron is coded to run a hair faster than any other player in the game

I gotta get my ball security up, cuz the only way I can score is with my mid range jumper. Anytime a defender--and I mean ALL defenders--gets near me, i stop dead in my tracks.

But I'll try to lay off the sprint...it's tough cuz I'm so used to ALL b-ball games being like that, when u have a crease, run right thru it with speed....One thing I've noticed, is the game literally keep u out of the paint even when a defender isn't engaged with you and I hate that. Cuz when the AI gets a lane, there's no animation to slow him down. Also, how come the little graph under My Player will be yellow but it won't have 5 bars even tho I'm in a range that I shoot well from. I understand that I have 1 bar at 3pt range but sometimes, my mid-range bar flucuates from 2 to 5 bars.

Not sure if your shoot off dribble and shoot in traffic stat are taken to account or not, but there is one way to tell. In Practice mode. Stand in a spot where you know you rating is high and see how many bars you have. Then run to the same spot and shoot off the dribble and see if the bar go down.

Another thing, are there multiple ways of triggering the "protect ball" dribble? I've heard that all you need to do is nudge the left stick towards left or right, but I seem to be only able to do it holding down both triggers and then moving the left stick. I'm talking about the move at 2:26 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glmy5OBUkbw

Or are they two different animations?

When you post up down low, hold LT (or L2 on the PS3 I guess...) and move the Left Stick toward your back. This will start a spin move to try to get by the defender. Once your guy spins around and starts dribbling, hold the LT and pull the Right Analog Stick toward the basket then quickly pull it back in the opposite direction. There should be no pause between the different directions.

This should do the "Dream Shake" style shot.

There was no ball protect ani. there, at least at the time you mentioned.
