If you press Y when the L-stick is not being influenced in any direction, it will be a sig gather. If you are moving (holding the L-stick in any direction) it'll be a hop step.

im still suprised by the amount of ppl online that dont take advantage of the new shot stick

i played against miami and he just forced himself in with lebron and got nothing..i was expecting to see some euro steps or some spin layups..nothing.

It is a very scary thought that more people don't use more of the features in this game. There are just too many things to do. Then just doing the samething over and over again.

I would love for someone to explain to me what the benefits are to right stick passing? I've used it but half the time the pass dsnt go where I want it to.

There aren't any benefits, and your problem with the pass not going to the intended recepient is the same reason I stopped using it.

Its funny you say that... I use not tell them... But I tell them everything I learn about the game. But like Cavemen they don't listen. Great example, this year I told them how the play calling system was changed. And how you had to press L1 and then the players button to call plays quicker. This Cavemen still call plays by pressing right on the directional pad. The only excuse I heard from one of them that made sense . Was that he use the the D-pad only because they stilll have the quick plays menu there.

Yeah I found this out too, I could complete all of them except this one. I did it once but wasn't sure how I did it.

I thought that's what I was doing and it still didn't work, maybe it's a timing thing....?

And that answers that. Timing.

Put this question as number 1. I'd like to know this as well, it's crucial.

Ditto. Can't dunk just lay ups. Do I need to come in at different angles or something? I can't slam the ball at all.

What exactly is a "sig gather"?

Or better yet, what exactly is right stick passing?? Are there different passing modes? Which one is on by default?

I'm really enjoying it so far. Can't wait to learn more about all the moves to make my buddies **** themselves when I do a Gasol reverse on that ***.

I'm just kinda lost and the manual, while helpful a little bit, isn't very in depth.

Thanks Fellas in advance.

There are many video tutorials available here at OS and at youtube. Everything else is based on your creativity.

Follow the tutorial links in my signature below and you should find everything you need to know to get you going as it's discussed in detail.

Good luck

Someone needs to make an in-depth tutorial on flick-flicks. They're easy to do but I feel like 90% of the time I do the same step through. I know they're based on ratings and the context of the situation but it seems a little bland. Everyone now and then I do a badass reverse pivot or Rondo-like ball fake and it looks amazing. I pay attention to how I do it (the Rondo one I got by RS fake away from the hoop and then RS towards the hoop) and try to replicate that with no luck.

Little OT but couldnt figure where to put this question. When calling a pick and roll can i choose which side the pick will be? Always seems to go wrong side.

From what I gather, Absolute = Left is always left no matter which camera angle you use. Relative is relative to the camera angle at the time.
Example, lets say you're directly under the basket, and the camera is at half court facing your back. Left would be left in this case, meaning if you were to move in that direction it would take you to the far side of the court....now, if the camera was on the sidline looking at you then left would actually be behind you, meaning if you move left you would actually be heading backwards. That is relative.

If that makes any sense at all.

it doesnt affect when your shooting, only when your trying to pull off dribble moves, layups, and dunks.

for example, no matter where u are on the court when trying to do a layup, left will always be a left hand layup. right will be right hand.

On the flick flick moves do you do it like flick flick and on the second flick hold the stick in the direction of the second flick or do you just flick flick and not hold down the second flick?Did that make sense?lol Thanks for your help

Can someone comment or post vids on the "branching" of moves and animations? I can't get them down consistently (or what I think are the 'branching' moves at least).

what exactly do u mean? are u speaking of Isomotion?

# 399 ehh @ 12/01/10 05:24 PM
Supposedly it's with the shotstick where you can adjust and change your shot mid-air and after a contact animation. I do it every now and then to get a cool, usually hard, foul animation.

# 400 TheJoker @ 12/02/10 03:20 AM
Question, and since there are too many pages I'm going to just ask it so that I don't have to search through. Do you guys really see an advantage to using the shot stick? In previous years you were only doing it because it was kind of cool but there was no reason. You read the moves that can be done in that list above but how often do you really get chances to do these, and when you do square with the appropriate shoulder button will give the same results.
