The CPU AI is flat out AWESOME!!!!!!! A basketball video game has NEVER felt like this.
-They double Matt Barnes as I got past CPU defender on the left wing, and I hit cutting Gasol for uncontested dunk.
-I jump prematurely on defense, Perkins jumps into me as I'm in the air, draws the foul and gets an "and 1"...not sure about him hitting the j, but it was only from 8 ft out so I'll give him that one. I thought he might smile after converting the shot, but he still had his grumpy smirk. LOL
-Nate Robinson jets past Fisher down the lane, I switch to Artest to offer help and Robinson does an absolutely breathtaking wraparound no look pass to Pierce for a smooth jumper who was left unguarded! Were there replays in this demo I would have watched that at least 10 times! Beautiful.
-I notice a mismatch which had developed defensively with Gasol on Rondo, and I'm quickly able to icon switch to Fisher and run up to defensively guard Rondo before their play really starts, and without hesitation Gasol (now controlled by computer) goes right to Garnett who was previously matched up with Fisher. Order restored on defense.
-On the flipside, CPU offense notices mismatch with Blake (I fouled out Fisher) on Pierce and goes right to him mid-post and he backs me down and punishes me with a turnaround!
-I think I saw a re-post...can't totally confirm that though. I was posting Gasol and threw it back to Kobe on the wing, and Gasol then got deeper position in the paint. However, it looked like a new play may have been called, as there was some off the ball movement that occurred, so maybe that is why he moved deeper? Just can't say with certainty.
Love it! To me, this variety of stuff has never happened to "the computer" before in sports games!!!! Simply awesome. It's so refreshing to play the computer and get not only intellegent plays out of them, but also defensive mistakes. It's nice to see them struggle to run offense on occasion, or to have them offer a disruptive double team when you are trying to execute on offense. For the most part nothing feels cheap/scripted either way. Obviously we'll have to wait for October 5th to see if if "catch up logic" or other typical "cheap AI" demons from the past are present, and yes I realize this is on Pro skill setting, but it is looking really good so far! Props to the 2K development team for the AI enhancements...I just can't get over it. This along with all the presentation upgrades might actually make an offline Franchise something I can stomach for more than 50 games...normally I get bored halfway in thinking I've seen it/done it all before. But THIS AI? Man, it seems leap years ahead! The fact is, when plays are provided with screens, spacing and motion at our disposal; it is going to be even better! Perhaps I'm overstating it all, I don't know...time will tell.
I bet the camera relative moves are doing you in. In the final I think they have an absolute options. Just pick one move and try it as your bringing the ball up the floor. Start with a crossover left trigger left stick to opposite hand. If he is not doing it your probably not moving from camera relative left to right. look at your hand to verify. Then only after you have that down pick one other move and then when you have that down link them together.
Camera relative - that's certainly part of my problem. It's hard enough for me to pull off the moves, much less remember which way to twist the stick depending on what side of the floor I'm on.

i figured it out man...just keep practicing its pretty easy now

This is definitely the best it's ever felt to block shots as a user in any bball game. When you time it perfectly and you know you've timed it right and anticipate the huge swat that's coming is an awesome feeling. You can see it developing just like IRL, you're like "oooh, if he tries to take this shot he is ****ed!" lol.
Can't wait to patrol the lane with Ewing get some payback on Pippen and Jordan for all those posterizations.
The AI is damn near perfect in this game. I'm giddy over here. This will be the first NBA2K game in ages that I'm going to LOVE playing against the CPU.
I've played somewhere near 40 games of the demo and can't think of a single CPU thing that stood out in a bad way. No questionable shots (like Rondo or Perkins jacking jumpers), wild dunks or cheese. I mean it's literally like watching/playing against the real-life Celtics. Brilliant work, 2K.

I agree, blocking feels very good.
I am really loving what they've done with the arena sounds this year. Having played the demo more and analyzed the videos it seems they captured the authentic sounds(organ music, defensive chants, misc sounds) of each stadium. I have been waiting for this for years. The Staples Center and Madison Square Garden sound very true to life. I can see myself playing many a game with no announcing.
Anybody gotten anyone injured yet? Sorry if someone has i was to lazy to read the rest of the 100 something pages . Right at the start of the game allen takes a open 3, misses and kobe goes for the rebound and on the way down he falls and is injured (holding his knee I think), I thought Matt Barnes or Shannon Brown would come in. Steve Blake came in instead -.-
