NBA Elite 11 News Post

NBA ELITE 11 is back with the first of two gameplay videos featuring 5 on 5 action. This video is a user vs. user matchup with NBA ELITE Gameplay Producer Novell Thomas taking on NBA Community Manager Yaw Obiri-Yeboah (also known as blackflash83 on the forums) . The game is being played on a Pre-final build with some tuning left to do but it provides a good representation of how the game will play once you developed your skills with the new Hands-On control.

Be sure to check out some of the quick plays being called during half court offensive sequences (press X on the 360 to begin a quick play or the Square button on PS3) and the importance of playing the passing lanes as balls can get deflected. You have complete control this year in NBA ELITE 11.

I'm still reserving final judgement for the demo ,but it's looking like I will pass on Elite this year. Unless the demo blows me away.

to sit here and defend it all day wont change the hearts and minds of sports gamers like myself

save your breath and go convince EA that players shouldnt slide...and refs should move ont he court...and players should bend their knees when they jump....and people shouldnt hopstep 5 feet,...

and all other types of weirdness that seem to occur in an EA basketball game.....talk to EA not The Gamers
Everyone on here is putting there opinions on here. Some likes the way those little box cars look some dont. I mean there is nothing you can say when someone says they dont like the video, it dose not look good, or things about the physics or graphics. Its all a difference of opinions. When i reply to what someone has said it is not for argument sake. Its just my opinion aganist theres. Yall are the ones that dont like it so shouldnt it be up to you to convince the dev about those things cause the ones who like the video and demo are going to buy it weather those things are in it or not.

On the other hand i also did not notice the refs. I hope they can fix that at least in a patch cause that adds to the look of the game. Maybe thats why no fouls were called cause there is no ref under new yorks basket lol

A lot of little things that irk me about this video and the game in general (from what I've seen). Won't get into that though.

My biggest issue with this video is definitely rebounding. The sequence where the Knicks grabbed those two offensive boards just looks frustrating. Seems like you can still step out of bounds (pretty sure Bill Walker stepped out, this was in one of the Venice Beach videos as well).

Ball control is most definitely there (as it was in Live 10), even if it caused some ugly sequences to play out. Off-ball stuff looked nice as well, I liked the slight interactions as players went pass one another.

I don't see the problem with commentary, sounded ok to me. It is definitely not as fleshed out as other games but I can overlook that being that it's a brand new team with brand new lines. I do agree with Breen sounded off, though. Sounds like he's sick.

Unless you can dynamically generate lines for JVG I don't think any commentator like him will ever work in a video game.

My favorite thing about the video was the sounds in the paint, contact yelps and screams. I think they nailed that this year.

That's all I'll get into for now.

Again, saving my judgment for the demo.

Really didn't notice that either until you pointed it out, I was looking at the players on the court.

This might just be a alpha demo or something, no way this is even 60% complete version. Good eye on that by the way!!!

Definitely going to wait until a demo before I make 100% decisions, and also still not liking the player models. Even in the most recent screenshots, player models are worse.

Yea im not to fund of player models on elite/live. But i think thats an ea thing because they have to same player models on madden and ncaa. If a player on the field is not moving then they are standing still kind of hunched over with their knees bent

I think this is a game that needs to be experienced rather than seen. Not trying to make an excuse, but Elite's control will be its major draw. Only problem with that is some people (who aren't on these message boards) might not take the time to download the demo after watching these videos compared to 2k's. I know everyone here will, and then we'll get the final verdict (though, ultimately the retail release would be the final verdict but if the demo doesn't impress, few will buy.)

I am still trying to figure out the blind devoting thing for a video game franchise, I have read a few don't like what am seeing but I am going to buy it anyway because I always have comments which does not make alot of sense to me, you have other options or if you don't like the other option are you content with playing something you don't like over simply buying nothing.

Just because a game looks like crap doesnt mean it plays that way. If the demo is fun to play thats what matter most with videogames is it fun to play.

Don't know about you, but I always thought the demo was the final verdict. I don't expect 2k's demo to play like crap, but if it did would you buy it just because it looks good? I don't think anyone would. I'm saying that if Elite has one hope, it's that people download the demo and they're impressed by what they see because visually, it's not up to par with the competition.

Oh trust this game is on thin ice with me. But the whole direction of this game is feel and not sight. So playing it may surprise people.

Its all about the gameplay for me. The game looks good to me but has negitives like any other game. I have never seen a sports game get a 10/10 in any review.

Are you serious ? If I said quarterbacks don't bend their arm when they throw is that a nitpick ?
