Based on the demo this is better than last year's Madden .. which was pretty good.
You definitely notice the difference with Locomotion and Gameflow is a perfect addition.
The Jets were bringing the heat on a regular basis like they do in real life.
Madden 11 > Madden 10 > all the Madden's before it. Don't believe me? Play Madden 2005 again.
I disagree with Madden 11 being better than Madden 10. I don't see that yet. Pro-Tak is doing some odd things in that demo. Players are not pursuing like I remember in Madden 10. Locomotion does not bring the player momentum this game desperately needs. There are moments when certain player move in a more natural looking manner, but that can't be said for everyone on the field. The animations are still very twitchy with too many cases of players sliding into position and gliding in and out of maneuvers.
This is after only one game on pro difficulty, so take it with a grain of salt, but color me unimpressed. The whole thing just felt slow and tedious, and Gus Johnson's pro wrassling announcing style does absolutely nothing for me.
I'll try again later with tweeked settings, but right now it is my opinion that NCAA 11 blows Madden out of the water.

Try it on normal. Ian said they will be changing the default speed to normal this year. Demo is set to slow...
"Why panic over a preplay button change, esp calling it 'clunky'? Y+UP is now UP+UP Does that seem clunkier? Give it a try." -Ian Cummings via Twitter
"Why did we change to strategy pad? For usability. Too many inconsistent buttons before...people would get 'stuck' and they couldn't snap it." -Ian Cummings via Twitter
I've been stuck and unable to hike before, but it was a problem that first appeared on '10. Should have been fixable without an overhaul.
I'm big on presnap adjustments, and I also don't like going backwards to relearn the button combos. Memorizing is time consuming, and it took me a few years to get the old system down. I hate button changes without options to change it back. I'm too old for that.
I would love for Madden to add some of the audibles from PS2.
With the Colts playbook, I could audible any under center play to singleback while keeping the same pass routes or run. Being able to take a pass pattern that could only be found in one formation and audibling to another formation really opened up playbooks. Possibilities were endless. Another audible I want back is the PA audible. You used to be able to take any pass play and make it a PA. For example, a simple play like verticals could be audibled to a PA. In the Colts playbook, every ace formation could be turned into a stretch PA. The PA was formation specific, not to be confused with a quick audible though.
Are we talking NCAA demo blowing Madden demo out of the water or Retail NCAA blowing Demo Madden out the water
Retail NCAA vs Madden demo, so it probably isn't a very fair comparison. I enjoyed the NCAA demo a heck of a lot more than I did that one M'11 game I've played so far, but I'll reserve final judgement for now.
Haha, I don't know if anyone else noticed, but Collinsworth on some of his commentary says Tom as he is talking to Tom who was the voice of Madden last year. That will hopefully be noticed and changed.

I feel for the guys at Madden HQ sometimes.
If they don't change stuff, they are lazy bottom-feeders who still can't catch up with 2K5 and whose exclusivity contract means they never need to innovate.
If they do change stuff, everyone starts screaming and doesn't understand why they "broke" the game.
Have to agree with some of the comments on the Strategy Pad, while I'm not against the change in theory there is an awful lot of muscle memory built up and the computer snaps so quickly it is currently annoying to try to override my muscle memory and read through the options on the pad. Eventually it'll be fine but it'd be nice to have the option to just turn on the old system of modification.

Ian said that was caught before retail version shipped.
Maddens normal seems to be just a tad slower then NCAA's normal. IMO I like it a bit slower then NCAA but I agree that Maddens "slow" is a little boring.
