Just played the demo. At first it felt the same as Madden 10 but by the end of the game it felt significantly improved. Oh and you guys that say normal speed is better.... are insane. I turned it to normal speed for a few drives.... and it felt AWFUL. If I didn't have the chance to change it back to slow in the retail version, I wouldn't even touch it.
1) Why change the kick meter? One of the little pop-ups claims it will better represent your kickers skill but could they not have incorporated this into the old kick meter by making it go at random speeds for not-so-great kickers and a consistent one for good kickers?
2) Just like the rest of you I am not a fan of the strategy pad. Why remove what was already in place?
(I wasn't redesigning plays from scratch at the line which, I suspect is the hart of the complaint here.)
I think I was clear that I find it difficult to rememorize buttons.
I mentioned some old feautures about redesigning plays, but that really has nothing to do with why I dislike of the presnap pad. My PS2 reference about being able to take one formation and switch to another while keeping the same routes has been gone for awhile now. I liked it because certain routes can only be found in one formation of a playbook.
Does anyone know if PS3 demo is out yet. Can not find it anywhere.
I don't think it is. I tried searching this thread for answers, but how can you find anything when the thread is 40 pages and you are searching for "PS3" and "Demo".
Can the thread title be changed to let us know when it is available for the PS3?
EA hides the fact they are not creative or they are lazy by using the shield of game play! "Oh we are just concentrating on game play!" Really? Well whoever was concentrating on strategy pad needs to go work in the cafeteria!
lmao even though the gm is not as bad as every makes it out to be thats funny *** hell

Agreed. Some people making good points but for the most part a lot of the same stuff over and over. Not easy at all to find a simple answer.
Who said they did ask for a presnap change?
...
It's simply a "You messed in my sand box" change ..hense the "uproar"
For EA to be in a 'can't win situation' like you claim, the only logical conclusion is that the community is split over the change. Your posts assumes people wanted it. By community I mean Madden buyers.
If noone wanted the changes, then apparantly EA already had it right.
I am sure if the stadium sounds were on, and the stadium music kicking the sound would be better. The players faces look allot better (Manning looks like Manning and not some weird freak) The lighting is good, but not having progressive lighting is a huuuugeee blow this year.
Also why does the ball look so FREAKING BIG? Can you guys at ea make the ball the correct proportion to the players? Patch it maybe? Does the NFL require you to pump that thing up so we can see the lettering? Annoying.
Anything that is mapped to the horrible xbox360 d pad should never be done.
I will buy the game, because its the only NFL game in town, but I know you guys did a poor job this year compared to last based upon the demo.
Ok....i played the demo for 5 hours this morning. i then came back and played again. but this time i played a quick quarter of madden 10 ( jets vs colts 1 pm clear weather). madden 11 is night and day above madden 10 visually. I also played on very slow and on pro with the cpu slider for pass coverage and pass rush at 25. i usually play on all madden , but because of the inability to adjust human sliders, i find that all madden and all pro do not give a "fair" experience when it comes to cpu coverage and pass rush. I played on slow a and normal, but for some reason i'm digging the animations that i'm seeing from the very slow setting.( especially the sideline cathes).
if i had to compare the demo for madden to ncaa, i would say madden is a lot more fun and polished( demo wise only). ncaa turned out to be a great game, and i expect madden to follow as well.
Gameflow is one of those things were you will have to devote an hour to game planning for every situation. Once you have the plays you want and have weighed them accordingly, you will be happy at how the game flows.
one thing people have not mentioned is how much better it is to audible this year.....it actually lets you scroll through the plays and it shows the play art for each play on the screen to give you a better idea of match ups and how the play relates to the current defense
If anything they just dumbed Madden down to appeal to the mases. Gameflow, game plan just made it easier for somebody who don't have a clue about football can pick up the game and have a decent chance of beating a 20 year madden vet.
Now I wouldn't mind this if this was like in the practice mode of the game. But in the actual game, having somebody tell you what plays do is like giving somebody the answers to a test and say here go take the test, good luck.
Yep, just played a couple games of the demo. Turned it off and put in Madden 10. Aside from the lighting and the locomotion, it's the same game. The strategy pad and the gameflow features are kinda cool, but they aren't really mindblowing.
I popped in NCAA 11, and in terms of presentation, it was night and day. Gus Johnson is a great addition, but hearing rehashed lines from Collinsworth kills everything. The ESPN presentation from NCAA 11 makes it so much better. Madden should add in NBC or CBS presentation or something to spice things up.
I feel like this version of Madden is for the casuals and the people who don't play or know what football is. I can call my own plays and devise my own gameplans in Madden 10 just fine.
I'm skipping Madden 11 this year, maybe Madden 12 will get a look from me, but I'm just going to stick by NCAA 11 this year, and possibly Backbreaker if the patch works.
*The defensive GameFlow calls are horrible. The coach was wrong on every play. Look for the PA and it was a run. O they wanna run on 1st down and it was a pass. Blitz all the time. I think might be better when you do your game plan for defense.
*I am a person that buys Madden becuz im a football player and there no other football game to buy. I dont make big deal out of certain things about a game. For people to get on here and wine about a game is crazy. You make the choice Buy it or Dont Buy it bottom line.
I say that there is not much change, but enough change for me to enjoy the game and be happy.
So fellas enjoy the demo. Im going to enjoy Madden 11 since i already have a retail copy already
PSA: This will be deleted by the mods bc of that last statement.
