Crowd shouldn't be a big deal and shouldn't be noticed. But it stands out when it's noticably bad.

If you disable the 720P and 1080i settings in your PS3 system menu the demo will play at full 1080P just like on the 360. It looks much better (cleaner, less flickering), not sure why it defaults to 720P when it looks so much better in 1080P even if it's upscaled. The replays stutter badly on the PS3 though opposed to the 360. And the lag when play calling is something to get used too.
Otherwise I'm gaining faith in the PS3-Version.

Was it my imagination, or was ZERO gameclock or playclock run while the AI was choosing offensive plays?

You can't really expect current gen hardware to make crowds as good as on field players. Polycount and the likes ...
No said we wanted crowds over ESPN, but we just want the crowds to match the quality of everything else. Theres nothing wrong with wanting them to improve the game. EA has many different departments. So them working on the crowd would not stop all work on locomotion.

I wouldn't sweat it Canes- clearly a guy who is posting in the middle of a workday, on a video game forum, about a bloody demo should be telling others to get a life for not sharing the same opinion as him.

Just so I'm not a downer, that's about my only b!tch. This game is freakin' beautiful otherwise. Still a purchase for me, to be sure, I just really, really, really hope there's a fix to help us "defensive minded" guys out.
The game is awesome! The team at EA did a great job this year. The locomotion is just awesome. The cut scenes are great. Everything about this game I like so far. The ESPN overlays and presentation are great as well.
There is some lag at some point during the play calling and stuff but its okay, I'm sure it will be worked out before the game comes out.

Both times I've played OSU, Pryor has gone robo-QB all over me. I think I'm officially going to play with a heavy adjusted sliders Varsity or All American setting in the full retail version. I just can't take the robo QB.

Back to the game though.......EA appears to be taking a step in the right direction with presentation, but aside from the passing game, the game still feels like the same old engine we've been seeing for years on PS3 with just a few tweaks here and there. I'm still unable to run sweeps and tosses with any success and blockers still run by defenders they should be hitting. Hopefully on the retail version I'll be able to slow things down a bit and appreciate the game more, but as of right now I just don't feel like this game is going to meet my expectations once again. I'm still waiting for the "WOW" factor that I had the first time that I played an NCAA game for the PS2 after upgrading from a PS1. So far I've yet to experience that with any PS3 NCAA Football game.

Has anyone had a QB take off and run on them?
I havent seen it yet.
I hope this isnt indicative of the final game? Even Pryor has not done anything but pass

Not to get in the way of the "intriguing" crowd debate, but I played all the match-ups last night and wanted to pass on my observations:
As has been stated, the presentation is exponentially better than any previous version of NCAA on next/current gen. I still saw some issues here and there where there was an inappropriate celebration after an incomplete pass, but it is MUCH improved.
I actually like the new play calling system. It is great for the hurry up offense.
While the game is extremely fun to play, I hope there are some issues smoothed out before the retail version comes out:
There were too many turnovers, especially for 2 min. quarters, in the games I played.
As a result of the turnovers, there were too few punts.
I know that the teams in the game weren't ideal for the spread option because most the QBs are pocket passers (minus Pryor), but something still doesn't feel right about the option or running game in general.
The CPU play calling still needs work IMO.
I know it sounds critical, but if the retail version just tweaks some things, it will be a great game, especially if sliders are effective.
