Great demo! First of all the presentation is a nice change. It seems more like I'm in the moment... very similiar to Madden 10. The game looks great. The ESPN presentation is the best thing in presentation yet. It looks excactly like Im watching a pre-game on ESPN. The score overlay is a mirror image I swear, it's awesome! Timeouts, clock, down and distance, and it's at the bottom were it belongs. Everything feels much smoother. It seems like tampering with the speed of the game the last 1 1/2 years (also Madden) has really helped it "feel" more real. Also the locomotion has REALLY made a difference. It would appear they were right about agi, and acc making just as much of a difference as speed. I've had some great runs with a bunch of backs but imparticularly Tre Newton (HB #23) for Texas, and his speed is only 83! He's elusive with great agi, acc, spin and juke. Thanks EA... I know Madden's franchise got overlooked in favor of gameplay and it would seem both titles are on the right track with game speed and locomotion... I can finally have a power back make a difference! Good work.
Aight, I'm starting to have a few doubts now.
On varsity, corners are glued to my receivers, same on AA or Heisman. Seriously. I'm also finding my screens always getting batted down. The pass rush still needs a lil work, too.
And on the read option, I can't even tell who's being unblocked because the button icons over the players completely block everything. And when I do actually keep the ball, my QB apparently gets stuck in a couple motions before finally taking off. It just feels... awkward. Am I running the correct way?

Has anyone had the issue when you are scrambling with your quarterback and he crosses the line of scrimmage and he puts his shoulder down and it seems like he slows down when theres no one around. Doesn't look fluid at all.

the reason why you see the cutting look more realistic is because they lowered the agility ratings down this year.
No more 20-30 guys on the team with 90 agility....the lower the players agility rating the slower and less responsive you'll see certain moves happen now.

After about 7 hours of downloading yesterday I finally got a chsnce to play the demo this morning before work. This is a decent improvement. It didn't wow me but it did put me into the college gameday spiirit. I'm in the minority here but I like the way they playcall screen functions.
I'm not digging this locomotion stuff. Definitely an improvement but it didn't feel like I was on skates. I think this is because I've been spoiled by the player movements from Backbreaker.
I also think it's way too easy to score on heisman and too easy to complete the deep ball but maybe that's because I was using Florida. This game is a buy for me. This looks like this will be the best installment yet

I hope we have the ability to LOWER the game speed this year. I read somewhere that you can "speed the game up to your liking" but that doesnt tell me I can slow it down. I know that sounds crazy, and it would stand to reason....but you never know.
My impressions are fairly similar to what everyone else is saying. I've been so frustrated by the next gen versions that I went and bought PS2 07 and have been playing that. I tell ya, the graphic upgrade from the PS2 to this demo is mind blowing.
I thought I'd add my take on the presentation. Yes, it looks cool and is a nice addition, but I end up skipping over the pre-game stuff after a while. The presentation improvements I'd like to see are in-game: Better touchdown celebrations, better big hit celebrations, and a scaled celebration system. When I'm playing San Jose State, I'd like to see my guys stay reserved, but when it's a bowl game or a rivalry game, I want them to be fired up after big plays.
I was set against buying this year for the first time, but the demo is promising. I like the slower play, the locomotion, the blocking. For the retail version, I'm waiting to hear about recruiting logic by the CPU, what do turnovers and sacks look like in-game, and the CPU logic in key situations (end of game scenarios).

Is the playcalling system similar to Madden's "Gameflow"? Seems the plays are automatically chosen for you, which I like, although on defense it seems they pick the same 2-3 plays.

Winning FG's the Kicker should be smothered by his team in celebration!
i didn`t like it...
specially how the players SLIDE... are they using the NHL 11 skating animations or what?

I downloaded the demo last night and got to play a game as my Missouri Tigers vs Clemson.
Let me say that I have not touched NCAA since the 2008 version (the one with the Boise State guy on the cover) and I must say WOW what a leap forward the series has taken over the last couple years. Obvioiusly I am way behind the curve that most on here are on, but I was pretty impressed. I won 9-7 on Varsity. I scored a late TD, went for 2 and missed, the managed to recover an onside kick and make a drive for the game clinching field goal.
It feels more like 2k with the player movement now for sure, which I think is a good thing. It takes some getting used to with the movement though, because I could have busted a couple big plays where I messed up on the stick and didn't take a good angle. All in all, I am considering jumping back into NCAA pending how the retail version comes out.
Gone are the days of mindlessly blowing $60 every year on a game that doesn't necessarily get better....I make a more educated decision these days.

I wish there was a "Shake Hands" or "End Game" play or something you could select for when the playclock is below 40 and the losing team is out of TOs. It's a little anti-climatic when you just let the last seconds roll of the clock.
