Cowboys are WAY overrated. Giants were awful last year and that same Giants team beat Dallas twice, such bull.

*sigh*

i don't like when donny said "get rolondo mclain, he's gonna progress really well"

makes it sound like progression is going to be fixed again rather than being based off performance...please don't do this to us again!

as cool as it would be to see espn integration...i believe that says strategy pad, just like in the other videos.

but the banners do look slightly different than they did before. in all the other videos they've been showing, the banners look identical to madden 10. but they do look different in the gameplay shown behind donny. But its also hard to tell how different because its so blurry

*sorry bout the double post *

EDIT: haha, just noticed that they have verizon ads in some of the banners...better than snickers i suppose. Also noticed that there is no "fade to black" when the cutscenes in between plays transition. good to know they listened to us on that part

Edit : Never mind.

Bull**** rating, the Bengals who swept the AFC north last year who got a even better team this year (more passing threats) are rated worse then the Ravens.

# 69 Vipers2k9 @ 06/05/10 08:40 AM
The Rams maybe on a death watch since they were rated lower then the Lions.

# 70 Hova57 @ 06/05/10 08:47 AM
my bigggest beef is with Denver , they lose brandon and sheffler and they go up? Eagles are where i thought they would be losing mcnabb and westbrook . someone on dallas is ranked too high i'm sure its roy williams .

# 71 Bellsprout @ 06/05/10 09:30 AM
Why is Houston only a 78? Seems really low to me. I'd have guessed something like an 83 before I saw these.

on another note ... Ravens are too high .. i like how people complain about the jets but not the ravens ...

Jets have a better Corners ... Better LBS ... as a whole ... ... Better Oline ... Better Receivers IMO ... not saying Ravens aren't a bad team but they shouldn't be that high ...cause they shouldn't be higher then the Bengals .. Cause the bengals got better ...

Carolina's too low ... the best 1-2 punch in the backfield ... the best under 6' ft player IN THE LEAGUE .. well now that i think about it there rating is just right they lost a safety .. an important safety at that .. they lost there best Def player in Peppers ...

Lions r too low they offseason was probably the best out of anyteam from the draft to the Fa there Def is looking ok ... they have found a #2 so the other teams cant focus on Calvin as much ... they brought in another good tight end a running back that i think would of been #1 in the draft (outta rbi's of course) if not the the concussions ...

Giants r too low ... injuries plagued there secondary ... there Wr's r good ... there Running backs r Good ... there Line is top 5 ... there Def line will show up this yea under the new coach ... an they fixed there 2ndary not to mention there new coach is the reason the bills had the most Ints of ne team last year ...

i could go on about other teams but i don't feel like it
Completely agreed about the Lions. I think the devs just might be a bit skeptical about the improvements, however, because alot of these players have not been seen in action on the Lions, and they did go 2-14. Like I said before, I think a 72 or 73 would be a better rating for them right now, but I guess we will have to see how it shakes out during the season. I see the Lions as a 5 or 6 win team probably. Possibly 7 if they have some good luck.

Aging defense? Quit listening to the media. We got younger. Only Lewis, Reed, Pryce, Gregg are old. And Pryce does not even start anymore and Gregg will be sharing snaps with a Cody, a rookie. Kindle will definitely be a part of the nickel and dime packages, Kruger will see a lot of playing time. Ellerbe is young. Suggs is only 26. Outside of Lewis, Reed as full time starters, nobody is over 26 years old.

Plus the defense got BETTER and it finished #3 overall last year top 5 vs run and #8 vs the pass.

The Bengals got better but the Ravens got better too. The Jets have better corners than the Ravens and probably anyone else in the league. But their LB's are not better and their DL is not better than the Ravens, definitely not as deep as the Ravens.

The Ravens OL is a top 8 OL, their HB is a top 4 HB. Their FB is the #1 FB in the league. Name me one that can block and play HB like he can. McGahee still has it. Heap still has some in the tank plus the two rook TE's are great players.

Biggest reason, their coaching staff overachieved with the team the last two seasons. They should not have made the AFC Championship game two seasons ago and they should not have made it to the divisional round last season but they did. That's great coaching.

It's not just about tackling statistics. Tackling statistics does not make a player better than another one. Hell if that's the case then Barrett Rudd is better than Ray Lewis, both Jets ILB's and both Steelers' ILB's. Barrett is a really good player but if you want to take tackle numbers then you would have to say he is better than everyone in this discussion. I'm not going to make that claim. Or you would have to say that Kirk Morrison, who is not a bad player, is better than David Harris and David Harris is better than DeMeco Ryans. These are not claims I would want to make just based on tackle numbers. But that is exactly what you seem to be doing here.

The reason why there is no one with consistent tackle numbers at the second ILB spot for the Ravens is because 3 people started that position all season long. Ellerbe is the front runner right now but is still in comp with Gooden and McClain. But again, tackle numbers are only one aspect of a player.

At ILB the Jets 2nd man is better (will give Harris his props; he's a more complete player at this point than Ellerbe, Gooden, or McClain) but their first is not and the Jets OLB's are not where the Ravens OLB's Suggs and Jarrett Johnson are plus we added Kindle. Take the entire unit not just the one spot where the Jets have the advantage at ILB. As a unit the Jets linebackers are not better than the Ravens.

Umm, Houston a 78, really? Last year, sure the running game wasnt exactly good, but they still had one of the best offenses in the game, and once Bernard Pollard became a Texan, that whole defense changed and became alot better. But the cornerback position is still a question for the Texans. While I am not saying the Texans should be rated in the high 80's low 90's because they shouldnt, they should be rated at least an 80, IMO.

I don't know why the massive amount of homerism in this thread surprised me, but it did. Should've seen things like this coming.

I asked Donny, but got no reply. Has anyone ever read an article/blog on 'how' they calculate the team ratings?
