I tried using a power swing and down on the LS to hit a sharp grounder: fly ball to center field. Again, influence not present or noticeable.

The only time I thought there MIGHT be: With Tex I attempted to go opposite field with a contact swing, and he sharply plugged the right center field gap. Could be a coincidence, though.

Up on the LS seems to produce fly balls, so sacrifice flies....

Honestly, I'm hoping that it's a misprint in the controller layout. I like the game's hitting interface based on timing.
Only time I've used LS is with power hitters, and I've tried to pull it, e.g. northwest (up and to the left for a right-handed hitter). Anything outside I've not done a thing with. But twice, I got inside fastballs and let 'er rip. Knocked the hell out of the ball.

I say that as a little more evidence that the LS' influence is not overly strong, or at least didn't feel like it in the demo. That's a positive, IMO.

I really can't hate on 2k. I hope the PC version of the game has all the glitches ironed out.

Quick question after playing a few more games and experiencing the same issue (swing stick lag).....

Is it possible that a larger tv screen could cause lag?

Could it be the game itself?

It's just weird. I want to swing, but there's a noticeable (and game-killing) pause before the swing. The result is that I'm late on 80 mph changeups and lucky to make very late contact on fastballs. I try jumping the pitch and the same result. any thoughts?

I just scored 10 runs off Joba in 1 1/3 innings before they pulled him and put Hughes in. I thought that was a bit weird.

Some HDTVs do have input lag, so it sounds like that's what you're experiencing. Check and see if your TV has a "game mode" for your input you're using for the 360 because that usually helps.

I haven't noticed any lag on the swings, so there's a good chance it's your TV lagging a little bit.

my only concern is I'm seeing way too many push or sprayed hits and not enough pulls ... Most hits and hitters pull the ball a lot more in real life (and almost always pull the majority of the time)

i have to say that, while im a big fan of the show, i did download the 2k10 demo because above all else, im a baseball fan and i was curious to see what 2K was doing with this game. after playing a few games, i must admit that i was starting to really enjoy the analog pitching. it feels like you're really in control of your pitches.

I've seen alot of positive comments about the game and it seems that 2K is getting things going in the right direction which to me is the most important thing. As a consumer, having some good competition between the two games can only benefit us, no matter which game you buy

Is this across the board or just on the user's end? I found that too at first, then realized because I wasn't used to the view (which I still don't like) I was late on a lot of pitches.

More recently (as I adjusted), I found it to be about right. As for the AI, they seemed to hit to all fields in a fairly realistic manner from the beginning.

yeah it's just on my end.

I could be late, but it's weird because it was only on contact swings. It seemed like any contact swing was going the other way and close to the foul line. I know I can force a pull, meh....seeing the my player video sold me on this though it looks like a lot of fun.

I'm even calling around looking for it early.

I switched to classic hitting last night and I actually prefer that. It feels more natural. It also seems like I get a more varied hit variety. However, I'm not sure if the left stick has any influence at all. For example, If I'm holding the stick in an up direction, will that give me a better chance at creating a sacrifice opportunity for my team? I'll likely stick with it regardless, but it's hard for me to tell.

One more question....

Is there a way to switch to a different outfielder when a ball is in play?

if it's the same as last year it's a strange button like the left trigger if I remember correctly...but it would be cool if someone with the game can confirm that.

The influence thing I noticed worked when I was trying to pull the ball and/or hit it in the air. For the most part though I tried to lay off of it.

If any developer reads this, please hold the camera for a beat after the ball lands on a home run. Let's see it bounce around or a fan grab it and just hold the frame a bit longer like they do in all tv broadcasts, it really adds to the satisfaction and gives the player a much bigger payoff. That leads me to another thing...nothing is worse than not seeing it land at all (on longer hr's).

Thanks, guys. Using the left stick to influence my hits is not something I'd want to mess with in most cases, but in those sac-fly opportunities it's nice to know that it has some sort of impact. I've been crushing homers just due to nice timing. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and pick this one up. I don't see it being worse than the demo.

The biggest "glitch" I've seen so far is player of the game. They don't seem to make any sense. I hit a walk off with Swisher, but somehow a hitless Posada was player of the game. I can live with stuff like that. Now players not putting a foot on first base is something completely different. That was ridiculous last year.

With the full game being released, I'm going to un-sticky this sticky.
