NBA Live 10 News Post

SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 - Electronic Arts announced today that a playable demo of NBA LIVE 10 is now available for download on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace for all Xbox LIVE Gold Subscribers. Play as the Orlando Magic or the Los Angeles Lakers and re-write, or relive, last year’s NBA Finals match-up. The demo will be available to Xbox LIVE Silver members and on the PLAYSTATION® Network™ on September 17th, 2009.

With a renewed focus on creating an authentic 5 on 5 basketball videogame experience, NBA LIVE 10 introduces a myriad of gameplay improvements to the long running franchise. Computer controlled players will now move and react like their real life counterparts with enhanced player A.I. (artificial intelligence), and authentic, team-specific playbooks. In addition, all new dribbling, passing and shooting systems now give users more control over individual players than ever before seen in the franchise. Gamers can now control every movement as they break down a defender on the perimeter, drive to the basket, and finish at the basket using their left or right hand. From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA LIVE 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA LIVE 10 also features significant improvements in the franchises overall presentation. Arena specific lighting and crowd behaviors, signature pre-game rituals and celebrations, evolving storylines, and an all new broadcast package are just some of the many enhancements that will ensure that NBA LIVE 10 looks and sounds like a real life NBA game.

Powered by Dynamic DNA, NBA LIVE 10 will use the latest stats, rosters and tendencies for all the players and teams in the NBA*. With data supplied by Synergy Sports Technology – the premier analytics provider for over 25 NBA teams, Dynamic DNA allows NBA LIVE 10 to provide the most authentic basketball simulation experience in a videogame to date.

haha even though the defence is hard as hell, i love it!

its just like real life. stop being lazy and defend your man! stay in front of him and cut off his angles to the basket.

its perfect

I dont see how someone can say that they have played a more SIM NBA game then this demo. Is it perfect, no, but it is miles ahead of any other crap that we have gotten. Every other NBA game I have played, and that's a lot, has not been close to Sim, though this game is.

young they made the levels below all star so that people who weren't good at the game could cheese. that is the point of those levels. Play on allstar and above if you want a more sim experience. By the way I would LOVE to see a video of you playing and scoring like that with Kobe on all star.. That would be something to see.

in fact it would be great to actually see the playing styles of some of the people who says the game is trash and garbage just to see what style of hoops you guys play in reference to your comments.

This thread is really getting out of hand.

I dont know. I'm feeling this defense. IMO no reason to body up a NBA player 30 feet away from the basket, that's instant ownage. Most defenders cant keep a guy in front 3 point line extended. But, from a video game standpoint, it keeps u involved. And if u played previous versions i can understand how u "miss" it.

Also, on d, Feels good to beat him to a spot and get that body contact. Or "give" him the baseline while baseline help is there. I have no problems w/ boards either. Haven't seen one hit the ground. But i manually get all the boards. So i dont know.

Blocks are okay. Contesting is where its at. I've seen some nice Battier's (hands over eyes) out there lol. And my paint contesting has gotten better so i'm seeing more missed shots after offensive rebounds.

We know offense is raw. No reason to go there. BUT, Kobe went baseline and tomahawked that ball!!!!!!! I thought i was watching the NBA FINALS. CPU Kobe I might add!

With Bball being my first love. Gaming heaven this year. If 2k doesnt shaft me w/ 30fps online play for PS3.

Buying both. Enjoying both.

yup this demo has been on heavy rotation and trying to notice the differences between kobe and vince and you can notice a difference...

now im getting a hang of how to play d with using RB... i actually like the challenge unlike last year where you can easily body up and get a easy steal....

cant wait to see what online optons are in store for this year!

The game plays different on superstar than all-star. On all-star the CPU shoots a a high percentage, but on superstar it feels about right according to the defense applied. I think this happened last year too, but was corrected when full game retailed.

One thing that bothers me is that when a player drives and is met with defensive players, they do that weird layup/crab animation in the air. That is the only one I've seen so far.

This is obviously an improvement over Live 09, but there's still issues. Da Czar said it best when he stated that this game isn't perfect. The control with dribbling is nice, most shooting animations look good, blocking needs some work, passing is good, graphics are good, but players look too shiny. My friends asked why LeBron and Wade looked white.

Overall, I'd be happy if this was the only basketball game on the market. It's very playable and enjoyable. But since it's not, I at least have to give the other game a try as well.

And if I have to see Howard do his dumb dance every game in the Finals, I'd like an option to just skip that. And it'd be nice to see some different pre game rituals; I really don't like how it's just one player by themselves in a cut scene. I could see myself getting tired of the same ones after playing a few hundred games.

The control is the only good thing about the demo.

defense is bad
rebounding is bad
player models are bad
animations are really bad

i gave live a fair review this morning and you think i'm bashing, you haven't seen bashing.
have u honestly played the demo yet? I dont see how anybody can say these ARENT the best b ball player models..their proportions are almost perfect...when u play it in person they look waaay better than the pics and online vids.

graphically this is the best looking b ball game i've ever played...

True dat DC haven't had this much fun in a while the AI is great love to see Kobe light me up.

Or watch the Magic rain them three's can't wait to play against other teams.

As I said this game is a whole lot of fun but I can't wait till I get the full game so I don't have to play on this damn broadcast cam. It looks nice when your just watching but I can't stand playing on it.

My whole game is just off I don't even like using the freestyle stick because I never know where I'm going to pass it. I know the white circle is there but I hate trying to pay attention to that.

Once I can play on my reg baseline cam this game is going to be crazy man I can't wait. Everything from dribbling to finishing at the basket will be a lot easier to pull off with the baseline cam.

Anybody else's game feel a little off due to the cam or is it just me?

Yea they shiny than a mofo...i dont care tho. Its hottness. IMO i just think they dont like EA art style. Its their style, as long as characters fit in the world they play in, im fine with that.

tried the demo for a lil bit. This is the first time ive tried live since 2k has been dominating. I wasnt wowed and did not feel it was close at all to being better than 2k. I just felt that I didnt have the freedom I have with 2k.

Now this may be because I am so used to 2k but I will pass on live. I will play some more games on the demo but it just doesn't fit right for me.
