Madden 2010 News Post

September 9, 2009 – This season marks the 50th season for the eight original American Football League (AFL) teams, and EA SPORTS is commemorating the celebration with the release of the AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10.

Available on September 24th, the comprehensive add-on brings the heritage of the AFL to Madden NFL 10 with all-new 1960’s-style presentation elements. Referees don the orange striped AFL uniforms, official AFL markings and logos decorate the field, and more – all while featuring a retro football card-like user interface and classic film grain broadcast camera.

The eight original AFL teams will be represented by name and wear their historic uniforms, including the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs (as the Dallas Texans), New England Patriots (as the Boston Patriots), New York Jets (as the Titans of New York), Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans (as the Houston Oilers).

The 15 AFL Legacy Game matchups during the 2009 NFL regular season will include the Legacy Pack presentation in the offline Franchise mode, as well as during the Play Now, and Superstar modes. Historic AFL uniforms can be selected in any mode – offline or online!

Relive some of the greatest moments in AFL history with all-new Madden Moments, which include additional Xbox 360 achievements and PS3 trophies.

The AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10 will be available on September 24th for 560 Microsoft Points and $6.99 on the PSN Store.

The award-winning Madden NFL 10, the highest rated version ever for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3, is in stores now.

Seriously - thread got locked the first time because we got derailed by continuous comments like this. For us people that look forward to this DLC - can you let it be and move on to another thread?
I do not hate EA. I just don't understand the love for a company that is treating their customers like they do.

The thread didn't get closed/locked because of comments about the DLC it got closed because people were personally attacking others about things totally unrelated to the DLC.

If I can't voice my opinion and replies to comments on my opinion in an online sports video game forum then I don't see what the point of even having the forum is if each post has to be worship of EA.

I was actually helping the guy out since he said he would like to play with classic rosters and jerseys in an NBA game. I simply pointed him in the right direction. The fact that I am getting yelled at by you for that is pretty ridiculous.

Yelled at by me? LOL - Please. I couldn't be less combative and more polite in my response. You go "above and beyond" just voicing your opinion...and it's getting repetitive. You have made your point. And quite frankly - you are foolish if you think that telling a member to adjust the tint on their TV to get the same effect of the DLC is helpful. Your not pointing anyone in the right direction - it comes off as being a smart @$$.

Your comments and objections have been duly noted (again). Is there anything else?

I don't know the definitive answer but I can't imagine it NOT being made available. Especially since this DLC first appeared on the European PSN store (by accident).

I really don't see the point in coming in here and bashing EA. You can call me a fanboy or whatever you want, but the fact is the DLC costs money, which some people are obviously opposed to paying. All I have to say to them, is simply don't buy it and move on with your life. No reason to stir up arguments that lead to no where but sore egos and tension between members. It's ridiculous, really.
And just in case you were wondering, yes, I'll be buying the DLC.

Today you're paying for extra unis. Next year you'll have to pay to get salary cap and free agency in online franchise. Then we'll be paying for roster updates. God Bless capitalism!!

what you guys don't realize is that by voicing our opinions of disgust with this price that EA can and WILL change the price to adjust to the market for the product. This has been done already with the FN4 boxers (lowered from 10 for 5 boxers to 5 dollars) and imo should be done with this package. If this was $2-3 I wouldn't be so opposed to it but $7 for uniforms and a filter is just too much, I don't know how anyone could agree that that is a just price for the content provided. You are paying more than 10% of the original value of the game for an add on that, truth be told, does not change the game enough to warrant that price. It may only by $7 but to say that is just succombing to the vulture that is EA.

So you can hate on the people voicing their displeasure and claim that it means nothing but these same voices got the FN4 DLC slashed 50%...

just something to think about

That's another thing people must not realize. By praising EA for this you are just allowing them to charge for more and provide us with less year after year.

If they made a product that didn't have the same glitches year after year and undelivered promises then a DLC like this might not receive such backlash. But to charge the price they are for the content involved is ludicrous.

Dude you just made a car metaphor! You hippo!

And its funny you say you hate the car argument cause I bet you didnt hate it when it was used to describe why Madden isnt worth $60.

Most of the people complaining don't even seem to want the DLC anyways, regardless of what it's priced at. They're only happy if something is free, which is a totally unrealistic expectation. If you don't plan on buying the item, and you don't really even want it, then don't complain. Just move on.

And you wonder why most consumers here are upset with EA (and their charges)...
I think you misunderstood my point.

I said it does "look" white, but suggested it isn't because of glare.

It doesn't make sense that the developers would use two different logo's (one for the pre-game match-up and one for the helmet) when you traditionally reuse the same graphic as much as possible (especially in this type of situation).

You mistake me appreciating a sound business move for being an EA apologist or defender.

I'll tell you what, you open a business, give things away for free that people would actually pay for, and see how long you stay in the black when it begins to stagnate.

Blame Microsoft for that one.

A favor...if you want to debate whether or not EA should be charging for the DLC or whether $7 is a fair enough price point...please do so in the thread linked below....

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ks-enough.html

Some of us would like to be able to discuss the contents of the DLC without having to defend or justify are reasons for doing so.

Thanks

I'm looking forward to the DLC. It'll be nice to see my Raiders get the crap beat out of them in a different uniform...lol.....

I almost forgot to ask...has anyone read/heard as to whether or not you can turn off the brown filter?

The AFL uniforms, on the other hand, should have been included in the game since EA makes the claim that if you see it on Sunday, it's in the game.

i guess you are right we shouldnt have expected it in the game.. since there is no other football game really to compete with madden if u want an authentic NFL game or whatever. if anybody was actually really competing with them they would be putting this in the game for us for for more than likely to try and convince us to buy their product!

but instead since they have which somehow isnt legally considered a monopoly i guess, they can take something they would normally be including in the game as a selling point and say F us and try to get as much $ as possible after charging us $60 blah blah blah

we've already heard this but still after saying all this i still personally wouldnt buy this even if it was like $4.99 or something but i think there would be a lot less noise about this if it wasnt $7 i mean for $3 more i bought 4 maps that i got a lot more use out of than i ever will with this AFL pack which maybe i guess it would be cool to have some extra jerseys but i would probably use the "camera settings" minimally and i dont really care about trophies and the madden moments are fun but i would never pay for extra ones LoL

I probably won't be getting this if they don't fix the simmed stats in franchise mode because I'll probably just return the game to Gamestop if I can't play franchise.
please take your game back. i beg you!

Some of these comments are laughable! EA sports releases DLC that is $7 damn dollars that gives us a new experience with full named Classic Teams with retro jerseys and hopefully stadiums.

And you guys act like they slapped your mom! It's business, stop all this stupid hating and stuff, every time they try to add something to their series. Enough is enough and it's getting old already, if not gotten rotten.

2k release Draft combine for $5 which is 1 player playing stupid mini games in the same damn gym. It sold like hot cakes and you same guys praised it. EA is given us the complete AFL teams fully named, animated, illustrated and represented! For $2 more than that, and you guys drill them.

OS is getting worse and worse for EA sports! And they've done nothing but deliver! And on a positive note, they've listened to us about every nitpicking thing and still can't win.

I wasn't aware that it was the classic teams themselves as well. I thought it was just the throwbacks.
