Madden 2010 News Post

September 9, 2009 – This season marks the 50th season for the eight original American Football League (AFL) teams, and EA SPORTS is commemorating the celebration with the release of the AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10.

Available on September 24th, the comprehensive add-on brings the heritage of the AFL to Madden NFL 10 with all-new 1960’s-style presentation elements. Referees don the orange striped AFL uniforms, official AFL markings and logos decorate the field, and more – all while featuring a retro football card-like user interface and classic film grain broadcast camera.

The eight original AFL teams will be represented by name and wear their historic uniforms, including the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs (as the Dallas Texans), New England Patriots (as the Boston Patriots), New York Jets (as the Titans of New York), Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans (as the Houston Oilers).

The 15 AFL Legacy Game matchups during the 2009 NFL regular season will include the Legacy Pack presentation in the offline Franchise mode, as well as during the Play Now, and Superstar modes. Historic AFL uniforms can be selected in any mode – offline or online!

Relive some of the greatest moments in AFL history with all-new Madden Moments, which include additional Xbox 360 achievements and PS3 trophies.

The AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10 will be available on September 24th for 560 Microsoft Points and $6.99 on the PSN Store.

The award-winning Madden NFL 10, the highest rated version ever for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3, is in stores now.

First off - in Madden right now there are classic uniforms. Right now. The Jets Titans uniforms, old Broncos uni's, Powder Blue Chargers, etc. So the argument how you are paying for classic uniforms that should have been in the game is just false.

Secondly - this package is no doubt in conjunction with the NFL celebrating the AFL's 50th anniversary. This package goes above an beyond extra uniforms. It's changed presentation, extra madden moments and extra achievements. That's alot more than extra uni's. So please just stop with bringing up the other game.

Good eyes man! Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less considering your profession.

Also... 2k5 actually didn't have most of these particular AFL uniforms in it.

While that game did have a lot of uniforms, they did miss a few.

The Jets' Titans uniforms weren't in. The Broncos yellow & brown wasn't in. It had a blue Oilers helmet, but it was the 1961 version, not 1960 with the rounded numbers. The Raiders uniform in the game has the wrong helmet logo. They used different years for the Pats & Bills as well.

These uniforms are actually new to the video game universe.

See, this is what I am talking about.

People are praising EA for adding something (and CHARGING US) that was supposed to be on the disc or could have been on the disc.

There is no way you are spending YOUR money because I don't see how anyone of working age could agree that this is a reasonable request from a company who puts out yearly glitchfests and problem games. The only thing EA seems to do right is hype their games and make you believe that they changed everything for the better, year in year out. But again, they didn't...

Also, doesn't the fact that they were more worried about this DLC than a patch that fixes the multitude of problems that we, the BUYERS, brought to light, bother ANY of you? Jeez, this company USES us and you guys bowdown to them because they are offering you jerseys and a brown filter for $7...

It seriously boggles my mind... EA deserves props for that at least, they are the kings of manipulation it seems.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tiburon snuck in a few minor changes or fixes that have nothing to do with the AFL theme, to make the people who were not going to buy it think twice. It would be a smart move on their part.

This has already been covered and led to the thread being locked. Lets not start it up again.

It would be a smart move. But it'd also be a smart move to publicize those fixes.

"Hey fans of the 75% of teams that don't get anything in the DLC..."

I agree it is more than unis. I just want to say that I think it would of been a good idea for EA to include these as a free add on. I just think it would be nice way to pay back the fans who have bought the last four years of Madden on next gen. I am not going to change that way of thinking. I like the fact that DL content can happen. I just think more of the add ons should be free. People already payed you a good amount of money for your game. I am done saying that and if you don't agree that is fine. I helped get this thread closed but didn't mean to.So sorry for going off topic and I am done talking about this.

APF also did not make money...Bad anology

AFL is not what is listed on the back of the game.

that is an extra feature that ea provides for a small fee.

I wont buy it because i can care less about those uniforms.

but i see nothing wrong with a small charge for something extra.
I agree. Maybe I just feel that EA owes me. I know they don't but if they would like to help their perception things like that would help. who knows and to tell you the truth it not that big of a deal. I kind of went on a tangent.

Does this mean u will get the actual AFL teams, and be able to play with them ,or are we just talkin' uniforms.

that line is frowned upon unless you are a VIP customer.

EA and my company are in the business of making money.

We always get customers who call and say.

" I am done with you guys and will shop somewhere else

but about 2% of those actually stop.

They always come back. becasue they need their fix. just like men need their football.

EA is not the only company that charges for dlc.

many do..

Call Of Duty does and it is safe to assume that they could have included all those new maps in the game

but they dont...they might already have them but they dont because they know they can make more money using them later.

Is all about the bottom dollar.

but you have a choice to buy or not...that is the best part
This is why I have no problem with most DLC. Usually it doesn't hurt the users gameing experience. Honestly the DLC that should be criticized more is map packs for FPS. Usually after awhile they do require the user to purchase it or else they cannot enjoy the full online experience without being kicked out of a ton of lobbies becasue they don't have the maps. All the maps never show up offline either so you can't even explore some of them on your own time. If you don't buy this DLC you just miss out on some AFL stuff which doesn't hinder how much you can play the game unlike some other DLC.

I can already see the inaccuracies on the helmets, the patriots helmet stripes are messed up, the team logos are on the back of the helmets when they shouldn't be. UGH why is it so hard to get these things right.

It's funny because even with inaccuracies they manage to catch the #9 decal on the back of the titans helmet in memory of Mcnair.

That's another funny thing about this. They will charge the $7 for the unis and a brown screen filter and different colors for refs outfits but they won't get any of it accurate.

It's just typical of this company. And for me to get warned because I am expressing my opinion about this "business" they are running when we are constantly getting half-assed HARDLY tested products year after year is a joke. The price set for the boxers in fight night was widely complained about on the EA Sports forums and EA lowered those prices to something they should have been in the first place. I was hoping that could happen here with enough disappointment.... but apparently you can not post disappointment in this product or you risk having your right to an opinion taken away? Doesn't make sense to me.

I wonder if they did the Cowboys in this since they are involved in the legacy games. The Pats stripe is too thin. Raiders logo is the wrong color it's white in the video when it should be silver.

Patriots

Raiders

Edit: To go with the McNair decal the 95 decal is missing from the Raiders helmet.

Bro - you are getting warned because you are saying something that was said MULTIPLE times already in this thread and got it closed in the first place. Just let it go and move on. There are several threads you can go and post your gripes.
