Madden 2010 News Post

September 9, 2009 – This season marks the 50th season for the eight original American Football League (AFL) teams, and EA SPORTS is commemorating the celebration with the release of the AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10.

Available on September 24th, the comprehensive add-on brings the heritage of the AFL to Madden NFL 10 with all-new 1960’s-style presentation elements. Referees don the orange striped AFL uniforms, official AFL markings and logos decorate the field, and more – all while featuring a retro football card-like user interface and classic film grain broadcast camera.

The eight original AFL teams will be represented by name and wear their historic uniforms, including the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs (as the Dallas Texans), New England Patriots (as the Boston Patriots), New York Jets (as the Titans of New York), Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans (as the Houston Oilers).

The 15 AFL Legacy Game matchups during the 2009 NFL regular season will include the Legacy Pack presentation in the offline Franchise mode, as well as during the Play Now, and Superstar modes. Historic AFL uniforms can be selected in any mode – offline or online!

Relive some of the greatest moments in AFL history with all-new Madden Moments, which include additional Xbox 360 achievements and PS3 trophies.

The AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10 will be available on September 24th for 560 Microsoft Points and $6.99 on the PSN Store.

The award-winning Madden NFL 10, the highest rated version ever for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3, is in stores now.

Found another one. Bills middle stripe is too thick. Looks twice as wide as it should be.

For pics of all AFL teams uniforms check this article on ESPN Page 2 Uni Watch.

Personally, I'll pass. Pats throwbacks are in the game. If you're playing a franchise, it'll only affect a few games in the first year anyway. Not really worth it in my opinion.

After the dust has settled from yesterday, I still think this is a good deal. I think it also helps now that the Q&A's came out today and we know a lot more details about the patches coming out. I think it makes a lot of the people that had initial problems with the DLC feel a little better about it.

It does look like it can be turned off, but I really do hope you can turn the Sepia off if you don't want it on there. I would like to play with the Bills Alternates as their main uniforms, and don't want to play in sepia all of the time

This cowboys uni needs to be added as they should be wearing it against KC in KC come week 5.

How will the AFL Madden Moments work? Are we going to see stuff like Super Bowl III with Joe Namath and period correct rosters or is it just going to be AFL moments recreated with current players? Beating the Vikings in Super Bowl IV just won't have the same effect if I'm using Matt Cassell and Derek Johnson rather than Len Dawson and Willie Lanier.

You're positive they're not in?

It'll probably work the way it is now with Madden moments & there are no Super Bowl games.

Frazier also spilled the details on all of the new Madden Moments the AFL pack will include: "We have added five new Madden Moments, all themed from the AFL era, and all allowing you to rewrite history," he reveals. "The first is from Jan. 1, 1961, a championship game between the Chargers and the Oilers. The second is from the longest championship game ever played. It occurred on Dec. 23, 1962. The third moment features the Chargers and the Patriots as the Patriots try to take away the one title the Chargers have ever earned back on Jan. 5, 1964. The fourth moment features the Broncos and the Bills, which was an incredible game that ended in a tie back on Nov. 27, 1960. Can you break that tie? Finally, the last moment features the Chiefs and the Raiders in the final AFL game on Jan. 1, 1970. Can you take that victory away from the Chiefs?"

The fact that they effed up my Raiders really irritates me.

They managed to get the right logo for the pre-game stuff, and then put the wrong one on the helmet. How the heck do you accomplish that?

somewhere on the threads someone mentioned that the neon green seahawks jersey was going to be released as dlc. anyone have info on when that is supposed to go down? or if it is even really supposed to happen...

I'd wait until more media is released or until you see them for yourself. I've yet to see a good helmet shot that doesn't look like it's affected by lighting which could make the gray/silver appear white.

Just a thought.

Yeah, it looks white. What I just don't get is the fact that they'd have to have two different logos then.

They got this one right and I thought they used the same the same image files for numerous things:

Not a big fan of the color. I know it's supposed to be that way but, I will NOT be playing with the sepia effect on.
