Madden NFL 10 Announces AFL Legacy Pack, Screenshots and Video Available

September 9, 2009 – This season marks the 50th season for the eight original American Football League (AFL) teams, and EA SPORTS is commemorating the celebration with the release of the AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10.

Available on September 24th, the comprehensive add-on brings the heritage of the AFL to Madden NFL 10 with all-new 1960’s-style presentation elements. Referees don the orange striped AFL uniforms, official AFL markings and logos decorate the field, and more – all while featuring a retro football card-like user interface and classic film grain broadcast camera.

The eight original AFL teams will be represented by name and wear their historic uniforms, including the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs (as the Dallas Texans), New England Patriots (as the Boston Patriots), New York Jets (as the Titans of New York), Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tennessee Titans (as the Houston Oilers).

The 15 AFL Legacy Game matchups during the 2009 NFL regular season will include the Legacy Pack presentation in the offline Franchise mode, as well as during the Play Now, and Superstar modes. Historic AFL uniforms can be selected in any mode – offline or online!

Relive some of the greatest moments in AFL history with all-new Madden Moments, which include additional Xbox 360 achievements and PS3 trophies.

The AFL Legacy Pack game add-on for Madden NFL 10 will be available on September 24th for 560 Microsoft Points and $6.99 on the PSN Store.

Unless I'm mistaken, this uni is in the game. You have to mix and match to get it, as it's not set up as a default combination. I'm pretty sure I used this uni for a game in Minnesota. Pick the 60s white helmet, white throwback jersey and 60s white pants, all separately.

Can someone answer this: On the Patriots throwback helmets, the one pictured here and the one already in the game, the minuteman is hiking the ball with his left hand on one side of the helmet and his right hand on the other side. In other words, it's reversed. It's not like that in real life, is it? I thought the only logo had the minuteman hiking with his right hand. Just looks odds on one side of the helmet. And for $7 I would have hoped they get little things like this right.

First, $7 is just too much for this download. Second, this isn't something I personally would purchase, but it's really close to what I have been wanting to see in a football game for a very, very long time. I would love to be able to start a Franchise in the first year of the NFL and oversee it throughout each consective season, allowing me to participate in the drafts. For that and a decent passing / running gameplay, fixed animations, I would forgo my Madden ban and buy the game, disable commentary, crank up the tunes and play a Franchise from year one to the current year offline.

How about EA fix the uniforms that are wrong with the current NFL teams before they come out with this AFL stuff. Now that would be something I would really get excited for.

Just watched the vid...and the uniforms are still messed up, jeeez.

The white Cowboys throwback that's in the game is the 1994 jersey.

I could be mistaken, but I thought the Cowboys were just going to wear their current "throwback alternate" uniform for their games against the Chiefs & Raiders anyway. The white helmet/blue jersey/white shoulders thing, which is already in the game.

Now I laugh that you realize the DLC that you backed up the entire thread is not 100% right and you are questioning how they could have one logo correct and the other one wrong...

I dont play football games or anything but this sounds like a great idea for DLC and I'd pay for something like this in a heartbeat. I play alot of basketball games and man having classic teams with authentic color presentation, etc... is a terrific idea.

I dont see how anyone could complain about this

Because you are being charged $7 and you aren't getting classic teams. The whole thing about this isn't that it isn't free, to me at least. The whole thing is all of these "additions" in this DLC are not hard work. They are about a half day of work for these people... the sepia color presentation is a simple color filter on the screen. All of the otehr bells and whistles are simple bitmap changes. The unis, which are not 100% correct by the way, are also not new models or new anything, it is simply a different texture on their current uniforms and half of them are simply different colors. It should not take more than a day for a professional graphics artist to do everything that is in the DLC, the way I see it.

That's why people are complaining about this. You aren't getting classic teams, you are getting classic uniforms to put on the current teams.

also, for nba 2k9 you can download classic rosters and you can use them with the large amount of jersey options they have in NBA 2k. And if you are really pining for the brown tinted presentation then adjust your coloring on your TV and voila you have what you think is their terrific idea.

Bro - we get it. You hate EA and we are all fools for paying $7 for something that shoulda been included in the game, takes half a day for their developers to create and because 2K would never do such a thing. Does that about cover your gripes?

Seriously - thread got locked the first time because we got derailed by continuous comments like this. For us people that look forward to this DLC - can you let it be and move on to another thread?
