"A rookie defensive back sealed the fate of the Ravens today, sending the Titans into the second round of the playoffs in Madden NFL 10.

The Tennessee Titans (9-7) took on the Baltimore Ravens (10-6) in the opening game of the AFC Wildcard game today in a crazy back and forth game filled with dazzling special teams and defensive play. QB Joe Flacco threw an interception as time wound down that rookie CB Ryan Mouton intercepted with less than 20 seconds to go in regulation to seal the Titans victory."

Its probably because nobody is EVER satisfied here on OS! They have made GIGANTIC strides with Madden '10 and still all I see are negative posts. Ah well, Ian must be a better man than I am because I couldn't take i for as long as he has. I can understand community interaction and constructive criticism, but this is really getting crazy.

You all do understand that this is a video game right? Everyone seems to think they are NFL head coaches.

I am loving the presentation... The sideline cutscene that showed a Raven player with his helmet half-off was pretty sweet to see.... Also really liking the tackles...

My nitpick however: Seems a bit high-scoring for a Titans/Ravens game.. and the reason for this is because of the "Big" plays... I wish they were toned down and were a lot more rare... Even in a perfect play call... I feel like the defense didn't react very quickly to the play... like on a pass to the outside, once the ball goes in the air, i wish more defenders saw the pass, and starting running over to help quicker...

On the HB screen pass at 0:25 or so on Video 3, the pass is kind of lobbed out to Johnson.. but the Defense takes a second to respond, then they run straight towards the runner it seems.. nobody decides they should probably head up-field a bit to cut him off... they don't take a very good angle on the play until after he has already passed them....

I just feel like there should be less "big" plays... especially between 2 elite defences.. they are usually much smarter than that... if you score on them, it's either a fluke big play... or you earned it by working your way down the field....

Other than that the game looks superb though! I am also digging the lighting this year.... MUCH MUCH MUCH better than last year (from what i've seen so far)...

my .02

2:32 in the first video, right side of the screen. Ravens player.

Who is he covering? There's no one there and he's dropping back but he looks like he's looking at WR.

There initial move is always inside, leaving the outside wide open.
Once you get it all down feel free to email to me as well (and mark highest priority ones if you can). Thanks boss...

Go Titans.

I AM a coach! Man, I could totally make the Broncos squad right now and play QB if I wasn't stuck at this job. 75 yards in the air, and I'll hit a dime in the grass.

Seriously, yo.

Unfortunately, I think many people here on OS actually do believe this.

The crowd really needs to make noise when the home team has the ball, ESPECIALLY in the red zone.

to add to my last post: on that HB screen pass for the TD in Video 3,

The angles are really bad by the Ravens defenders... I just noticed that the safety up top runs STRAIGHT towards Johnson when he gets the ball... even though he sees all the blockers and the rest of his team heading towards the backfield... he does the same.... NOBODY tried to cut him off up-field a bit... I dont think the safety was playing very "safe".. ha..

Can you post a video with the zoom camera?

Still not seeing a DL do much of anything with a pass rush. Yeah there were a couple rushed throws etc but that was after 4 seconds or more of time with the QB just standing in the pocket......

last 2 videos to go though... we'll see...

Favorite play: 4th video, 12 seconds in: Quick studder juke... and kneels down the ball!

Go Titans.
What setting is this on? Where is QB inaccuracy/sim style gameplay? Where is the defense in general??

I mean 8 touchdowns in a cold weather Ravens-Titans game??

C'mon, call a spade a spade. There are more important things than whether an animation looks one way or another, or how the commentary is. Online franchise or not, this game still needs a lot of work.

This. Dominant defenses need to be dominant, and it's two factors- the Defensive line is not winning the way it should, and the linebackers aren't playing the run well.

Ian, you know I pounded those two issues over and over, and I'm sure it got annoying, but man, that's huge.

Just realized my boy Gerald McRath was in for the Titans.

Southern Miss to the top.

Only caught the first quarter, will check the rest out tonight.

Don't think I saw a stat banner the 1st quarter. Yes Ian I will probably bitch about this every video until/if I get assaulted by them.

Agreed game looks a little wide open to me. D line seems under powered.

Not seeing a real pass rush. Hope sliders help.

Game looks great though overall. Hope it can be tightened up a bit.

You sound like one of those guys that go "ALL OUT" in slow-pitch softball.

I can see Chris Johnson being the new "Michael Vick" of Madden.

I should also add I'm sick of just tuning sliders to make the QBs inaccurate. That makes deep passes virtually impossible. Why can't we just have a game where an average QB (like Cassel or Flacco or Collins) throw errant passes 20-30% of the time?

This adds much more identity to each of the teams. When you have the Titans scoring 35 vs the Ravens, it goes to show again it doesnt matter whether you use an average offensive team like the Titans or a good one.

madden feels improved from the previous versions but it still overall looks like Madden to me. And when I say that I mean not a realistic game of football.

Players still move too jittery and they need to fix their running animations. Someone already mentioned the arm strides in traffic. Runners don't run that way. Everyone runs like they're in an open field even when there's defenders around. It just feels videogamey. When I play NHL 09 & MLB The Show, I don't get that feeling that I'm playing a videogame. I feel more suspension of disbelief because those games are more authentic.

Hope that makes sense.
