"A rookie defensive back sealed the fate of the Ravens today, sending the Titans into the second round of the playoffs in Madden NFL 10.

The Tennessee Titans (9-7) took on the Baltimore Ravens (10-6) in the opening game of the AFC Wildcard game today in a crazy back and forth game filled with dazzling special teams and defensive play. QB Joe Flacco threw an interception as time wound down that rookie CB Ryan Mouton intercepted with less than 20 seconds to go in regulation to seal the Titans victory."

The game looks just

Ian can you comment on crowd noise? It sounds great but is this nearly final? I would LOVE to hear the crowd react more to bigger plays

Like when CJ broke that big TD run the crowd didn't really react as loudly as I believe they should have. Same thing about your second TD

Also on defense when you got a 3rd down stop, the crowd was like "meh".

The audio to this point sounds terrific however!

I posted this in another thread but I'll post it here again.

Why does Chris Johnson look like he's lumbering and slow ? Doesn't he have like 99 speed? His strides are way too stiff and robotic . It's like he's not even trying to run . Sorry but this is sticking out like a sore thumb. I'm trying to enjoy the new additions to the game but the running animations is ruining everything for me.

On the Chris Johnson breakaway TD run , I thought i was watching the video in slow moiton or something. He took forever to get to the endzone.

The arm swaying is too dramatic also. NFL RB's dont swing their arms like that when they're runnning through the first level of defenders , c'mon !
Please EA fix the running animations!

One thing I noticed so far in the first vid is the AI. On Ian's first drive he ran Johnson to the outside a few times and it was pretty much open everytime. On Ian's next drive when he tried the same running play the Ravens D was all over it with the quickness. I thought initially though that the ILB didn't react fast enough to the lineman pulling. An ILB in a 3-4 should love when OL pull. Its the easiest read to make.

Will continue to edit. lol
I wish they would get rid of the cut blocking on special teams. It's illegal and shouldn't be on the game.

Thanks a lot, Ian. I think there are quite a few things to work on for Madden 11, particularly with O-line-D-line interaction. And it's hard to judge how good pass coverage is from the video alone. I'll have to wait to play it. That said, there are a lot of things that look really good, and overall the game looks fun. With you in charge, I'm loving the focus on sim-style gameplay and I'm confident in the direction the game will head under your lead. I haven't bought Madden since 06 on the PS2, and I'm buying this year.

The tackling
The cutscenes/ Presentations
The player models. ( Lendale White looked rail thin though)

I just wish those strides get sped up more.
And the arm swaying to be less over the top.

Oh and I think I heard Hammond mispronounce "Ngata".

Back on topic.

Looks good. I kinda like the slow game speed. The crowd and the overall less is more clean look to everything is really outstanding.

My only thing is EA really needs to get rid of the speed burst button OR have it programmed to have the AI use it also. Lots of outside runs are successful due to speed bursting. The AI could have the same % of success but don't because the user can switch players and speed burst and stop the run and the CPU HB doesn't use it. Either get rid of it or have it used by the AI also...

Just my .02. Also loved seeing a hold call that after re-watching it did look like a hold.

AHHHHHHHH!

Talk about shooting themselves int the foot!
the ravens go from tying the game up to gettin it called back on holding and then a false start penalty!

whoa! they crumbled under pressure!

LOL
great videos IAN

stat banners look stellar....dig the updated stats after someone makes a tackle! are there banners for the 3rd conversion rates, etc...?

A nitpick: What is up with Collin's and Flacco's hair? XD

I love how the camera interacts. I'm liking the procedural feel of the game. I haven't seen many tackles that felt like a locked-in animation. I did notice quite a few large punt/kick off returns. But then again, I'm gonna give you stick-skill props and just figure you're a better Madden gamer than I am.

(Currently in the 3rd video)

Ian can we PLEASE get more AUTOMATIC replays after Touchdowns and big yardage plays. What NFL broadcast do you watch on Sundays fail to show Touchdowns instant replay.

Wow awesome so far...I guess there is no progressive lighting this year...Too bad but.. not a game killer.

Watched the first two vids. A few things I liked...

I liked the jump Gage got on the two deep balls you threw to him, one he caught and one was broken up. He's a big receiver at 6'4'' and that's the kind of advantage you should have from a guy like that.

I watched Foxworth all the way on that pick-6. I thought he played it beautifully. You really stared that receiver down.

I also liked the overthrow by Flacco on third down, I think late in the second video. He threw it to a guy at the sideline but it was off target. Well done. Watching the rest now.

EDIT: Just saw the screen pass to CJ in the third video. That was beautiful. you threw it as you got hit, he caught it high, in stride, and took off up the field. Very nice.

Man I'm not commenting yet, I got an entire page full of notes already. The reason why the outside is there is the same thing that was happening in the CD build. The OLB's and the SS's on every play they always slide inside for some reason rather than taking that read step down, checking to see. There initial move is always inside, leaving the outside wide open.

I thought about that, but I'm also willing to take into consideration that he's running the ball with a 99 speed overall RB. What we're seeing is the fastest in the game.
