I dont think we'll ever see that happening. That sounds like a logistical nightmare.

I don't see how free agency is going to work. Is it going to be first come first serve since everyone can pay as much as they want?

Exactly my frined. 10 years should be more then enough. With people working during the day and kids going to school alday and also people playing offline franchise aswell like I will be doing. !0 years is more then enough years for online franchise.

I hope it doesn't come to that... it will kill the NFL as we know it.

Good question.

There would be no true bidding involved. What would stop a guy from paying someone $20 million a year to get their guy?

What a flop this could turn out to be.

Did you ask them why salary cap wasn't in ? Did you stress its importance? Did you press them on the issue, or did you just shut up ? If so what was their answer ?

It'll only last a year, chicken little.

Yes... I didn't need too, they know... yes, no... their answer was harsh truth, but not something I'm comfortable repeating publicly.

It's a bit arrogant of us to think we know what's important but they don't. I promise you, they're not happy shipping like this.

Not to take this too far off topic, but my fear is that if we have the uncapped year, we may never get it back.

I don't think you'll have to worry about free agency considering everyone can resign their own players for $50 million a year. Any player thats remotely decent will never be available.

Only 10 years of Madden franchise while NCAA can go on for 30? years?

And no salary cap defeats the purpose of any franchise. SMH.

Ah, I understand thanks for the response. Folks, I think everyone needs to read between the lines here. Doesn't look like its EA's fault.

Anyone know the question to this:
Quote:
I am curious to know if it is possible to setup a league, have players join and then once the league is full, that the system automates the draft position, and then the players based on this pick their teams.

I am tired of the league commish getting the best team, and all his friends getting the next best teams and then everyone else getting the scraps.

Everyone should be able to join the league without having to pick a team up front, that should be randomly done through a lottery in game, everyone gets the chance to get a good team.

Oh, it's EA's fault. If it's related to Madden, it's EA's fault. I ultimately consider it David Ortiz's fault because this should have been a year ago at worst, but that's neither here nor there right now.

It's EAs fault... It's not the dev team's fault.

Just a reminder to use this thread when discussing all things Online Franchise.

I just don't understand how free agency would work between two player controlled teams interested in the same player if there is no salary cap?

Has anyone even come up with a hypothesis on how this would work?

Also, logistically it seems necessary, as Looman said he hand-crafted all the drafts and checked them for accurate progression. That's a lot of players to control, and it's absolutely essential to having a working and believable franchise mode. Ten years probably represented the limit of controlled and accurate draft design the team could do. If that's the case, smart move.
I agree. I mean it would be nice to have the 30 year franchise, but like you said, I doubt most make it to 3 or 4 years, let alone 10.

I was wondering that too. Big concern. Plus no salary cap right now in online franchise... yikes!

No trade logic? Do you mean us not being able to trade draft picks, or is there something else I didn't hear about?
