Considering how it has shipped in the last few years, I don't know about that.

Re: Online Franchise Confirmed w/ Web App

Anyone know the question to this:

I am curious to know if it is possible to setup a league, have players join and then once the league is full, that the system automates the draft position, and then the players based on this pick their teams.

I am tired of the league commish getting the best team, and all his friends getting the next best teams and then everyone else getting the scraps.

Everyone should be able to join the league without having to pick a team up front, that should be randomly done through a lottery in game, everyone gets the chance to get a good team.

Oh, it's EA's fault. If it's related to Madden, it's EA's fault. I ultimately consider it David Ortiz's fault because this should have been a year ago at worst, but that's neither here nor there right now.

It's EAs fault... It's not the dev team's fault.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Discussion

No trade logic and no salary cap is garbage. I'm glad they at least put Online Franchise in the game, but then leaving out 2 of the most important features in any "SIM" football simulation is pathetic. I don't care about "harsh truth" answers people don't care to repeat or blaming it on people who don't work there anymore (which happens to be a common "pass the buck" response prevalent in all sectors of work) all this community interaction and now all of a sudden we can't handle the truth. Funny how you can always find someone when they are getting praised then when "harsh but fair " criticisms and questions come along, all of a sudden people are busy.

I want to make it clear I actually enjoy all the changes I've seen in Madden this year. I'm not about to say it's the best ever and Ian and Crew are the greatest or anything of that nature, but it does look like they progressed the game. This CPU logic and salary cap is real weak though. REAL WEAK

I don't expect a personal answer from a developer withing an hour after psoting either, but somebody knows the deal and ain't talking.

I just don't understand how free agency would work between two player controlled teams interested in the same player if there is no salary cap?

Has anyone even come up with a hypothesis on how this would work?

Also, logistically it seems necessary, as Looman said he hand-crafted all the drafts and checked them for accurate progression. That's a lot of players to control, and it's absolutely essential to having a working and believable franchise mode. Ten years probably represented the limit of controlled and accurate draft design the team could do. If that's the case, smart move.
I agree. I mean it would be nice to have the 30 year franchise, but like you said, I doubt most make it to 3 or 4 years, let alone 10.

I was wondering that too. Big concern. Plus no salary cap right now in online franchise... yikes!
