BTW, I LOVE the hitting this year. I struck out with Bartlett because the pitch was up in the zone and I only pressed X, swung right underneath it. My timing was perfect(according to swing analysis) but missed the ball.

Also, am I the only one that feels as though moving the L stick controls the batters hands? For instance, take Longoria. I had a pitch on the inner part of the plate and I moved the L stick in quite a way(left) and hit the ball off the end of the bat and it spun awkwardly down the first base line and rolled foul. Next time I got a pitch in the area, I pressed the L stick towards the right a bit and I roped a screamer down the left field line that one hopped the wall.

The hitting is absolutely beautiful this year.

Guru,

I see you deleted your post about a concern with the outfielders reaction time. I know when we played in SD, I kept on replaying player routes and jumps and It was nothing that would raise a red flag where it looked like it was intentionally done. If you are finding it a major concern in the demo, try adjusting reaction time, not speed.

Anyone else feel the same and community guys, do you notice this in the demo or did you notice it in the later build you played?

Maybe its just me..
I like the bang bang plays at first. Much better this year.

very impressed with the graphics of the game this year. So sharp it is the best I have ever seen for a baseball game. Good to get back to another version of the show.

Nem would you say that the OF's reaction time and depth is different in the demo vs the build you played? In my opinion, the demo is an improvement in this area over last year, but seeing your post above, just led me to the question.

Up 4-2 on Legend...me playing as the Rays.
I got the bottom of the Philly order up and I'm thinking that I got this "game"(shortened as it may be).
Feliz singles.
I quickly get Ruiz and Hamels...
2 outs and up steps Rollins.
I'm being careful and he strokes a single to RF....Feliz goes for third and I ALMOST threw there...but I decide to play it safe and not let Rollins get to 2nd, right?
1st and third....Rollins is going to go...I keep throwing over there. Nada...can't get him....so I decide to be cute and snap throw to 1st(he's dancin' off every pitch!)........AND.......I FRIGGIN' THROW THE BALL INTO RF!!!!!! ...
Not only does Feliz trot home...but the ball gets into the corner and I misplay it...ROLLINS SCORES FROM 1ST!
I might need a new monitor.
Does anyone know where I can repair this?..
..

Oh yeah...I eventually lost in 6

I agree arvbas........checkswing is much better this year.

Another older guy here, my user name should give you a clue of my age. I have the Show 08 and think its the best looking and playing game in my collection. The Show 09 went a step further with details. This game looks and plays simply amazing. I lot of work and pride went into it that's for sure. Great job!

How do you change difficulty in the demo? Can you do that?

I can't seem to modify anything at all in the demo

has anyone else seen this? first pitch of the game i hit a homer with iwamura off hamels. iwamura stood and watched as it soared over the right-center wall.

first pitch to the next batter, upton, was high and inside, brushing upton back. next pitch, upton grounded out to short. in the cutscene following, upton and hamels were jawing at each other as upton passed the pitchers mound on his way back to the dugout and the announcer mentioned how upton wasnt too happy about the inside pitch earlier. Man! these are the things i love about this game! freakin awesome!

If this has been mentioned earlier, i apologize. i was just amazed to see this and thought i would share. hope everybody is enjoying the demo as much as me

well i just played the most realistic 4 innings of video game baseball in my life. I am on Legend and honestly with sliders default I was still having a problem with hitting being a little bit too easy. Note that I said a little bit too easy.

Well I moved contact all the way to the left and everything felt much more realistic to me. I didn't even touch other hitting sliders yet so that is awesome. Here's the box score.

Rays 0 2 0
Phillies 1 3 0

I pitched great with Hamels too. I wasn't able to get the CPU to K that much before but that wasn't the case in this game. I was really concentrating on hitting the meter release point perfectly. Here is Cole Hamels (the player of the game) line.

4.0 IP 2 HITS 0 R 0 ER 1 BB 5 K

I hit a HR with Werth that I timed perfectly. It was a mistake by Kazmir that caught too much of the plate. It went 407ft to dead center into the bushes/trees whatever they are lol.

The only thing I would like to add as I feel it right now and it's not really a big deal but I think it would be nice is to have the option to when turning HR celebrations off to completely go off because on the HR I hit with Werth in the corner of my eye I saw him in the basepath window slowly jogging. It's certainly not that big of a deal but it does take away from the excitement of the HR. I would like to hit it and really not be sure if it's out or not and see the centerfielder go back and keep going back and when I see he gets to the wall then I know it might go out and then watch the CF look up over the wall as it clears the fence. Something about the long ball to me is very special and I love the suspence of the last 2 or 3 seconds before it clears the wall. Just thought I'd add that while its fresh in my head.

I would also like to add that one thing that's very realistic about the hitting is how the HR's are hit on mistakes by the CPU. Fat pitches that catch too much of the plate. I'm not hitting HR's on 2 seamers that are low and away on the corner. That is a very tough pitch to do much with and I think this game captures that very well. I think I hit 3 HR's overall and all of them were on mistake pitches that caught too much of the plate. Very realistic.

I definitely agree with this. In '08 with my Dodgers, I was consistently holding teams to 3 runs or less on all star. In this years demo using Hamels, I keep getting shelled in only 4 innings on all star.

After playing a couple of games I'm gonna go on record as saying a really don't like many of the replay camera angles. In fact, I absolutely HATE how the camera keeps zooming in on the ball on flyouts. Many times the camera is still pointing at the sky as the player makes the catch.

Amazingly enough, MLB 2K8 did this also. It would be nice to get an explanation from the developers why these replay angles aren't as good as they should be.

All of that said, though, I really enjoy playing this game.

Really? I love the replay angles ... especially the high press box ...

They mentioned the sliders were streamlined and added/removed to make sure they work.

Could've been breaking something in the game this year.

Trust me, the CPU baserunners are awesome this year! They actually make mistakes allowing you chances to earn the put-out. I had a play where someone went first to third and Ryan Church threw a one-hop beauty to David Wright to get the guy out by a step.
