I'm so excited, I've been waiting 3 days with my p3 on for about 10 plus hours total to download this.

I totally disagree with the OF'ers being off this year.
I think they are pretty much dead on. I don't necessarily mean their depth...but more in how it translates into hits and catches. .....especially doubles/triples.
Considering I edited every player to try and combat this in '08......I feel I've got a pretty good handle on it.
I'm not saying you don't(if you feel opposite of this).....I'm just commenting.
Granted....I've only played several games and the demo.....but it's already apparent to me.

Can that happen Chris?

Jimmy - Too fast
Werth - Perfect
Chase - Bat needs to come down lower but great job with front leg and the way he holds the bat.
Ryan - Pefect(was in the game last year)
Raul - Fine
Vic - Perfectly fine(love the high leg kick)
Pedro - Same as last year...Fine with me.
Ruiz - Great bat motion, its perfect...but like Jimmy's its way to fast.

Just some observations but man does it make batting with these guys so much more fun!
Yup... It's not so much that it is goofy or completely ridiculous... just noticeable for the perfectionists.

Wanted to point it out to you guys and I'm glad some of you get the chance to see what I was talking about.

Played about 20 games and haven't seen that at all. ?????

If I charted the doubles I'm still hitting, you'd be in shock.

Most of us know that out of the box, the speed and fielding aggressiveness of the CPU was too fast. There was no doubt about it.
I would be in shock, because in the hundreds of 08 games I played ... I can't recall a single ground ball go down one of the lines to the wall, which is one of the most common doubles in the game.

It wasn't so much the OF aggressivenewss as it was the ball dying when it hit the grass ...

I had one of the fielding issues last night with Chase Utley. He was squatting, ready to scoop up a lazy groundball and somehow it rolled through his glove.

Just FYI...

They were tightening things up even as we were playing.

Finally got it downloaded and played a game. Fantastic upgrade in graphics and game play from the short time I have played and can't wait for March 3rd.

Only disappointment at this juncture: bunt defense. I laid down a bunch of bunts just to see if it was still way to easy to get an IF single and I had Cole Hamels legging them out. The C just takes WAY too long to get out of the crouch, pick up the ball, and unload a throw.

RobNY finally figured out substitutions.
Nice pics in there!

Same thing happened to me twice in one game. Two hard hit line drives to Utley. Was in position to make the catch and it seemed like the ball went right thru him. Maybe Im just seeing things though.

Could someone tell me how to record "movies" or replays. I see the tip come up at the beginning of each game but can't seem to figure out how to do it.

dude...i am one of those guys who posted the slider and edits...lol

I see you didnt know that...as I noted that you just joined OS yesterday...

Anywho, that is exactly what I was alluding to. When The Show '08 came out, a TON of folks initially thought the Flash Gordon outfielders and infielders would ruin what was a promising game---but it didn't happen. Of course, a TON of edits and slider adjustments were to be done.

I don't recall ever seeing a ground ball down the line rolling all the way to wall either. I'm kind of seeing the same thing in the 09 demo. Iwamura hit a grounder down the line, but it just died halfway through the grass and he only got a single. There are a lot more liners down the line in the demo which is nice. If I ever saw a grounder down the line spin into foul territory and roll in the dirt to the corner, I would be very happy.

Okay, I know I am going to get slammed for saying this. I am not impressed by the demo. I have played about 10 games. While at its core, it does a fine job representing the sport of baseball, I just find the game lacking in many areas. I feel the graphics are good, but benefit substantially from the lighting. I feel the lighting sugarcoats the lackluster player models. I find fielding to be tremendously boring. I don't like guiding my player to the general area, then watching while the animation takes over. Once again, the game feels scripted. I feel like I have been doing the same thing over and over for years. One button to do everything. Swing, throw, etc. I feel like the game is playing me sometimes. I would be nice to have better control over the type of throws my fielder uses.

This lack of innovation has me sour on this game. I feel like its all been done before. I know this is not going to be a popular opinion, but I felt like I had to say how I feel, and that is disappointed.

I just saw something I hope doesn't become the norm...

Victorino on 2nd with 1-out. Ruiz lines a solid single to LF and I come up expecting to be making a throw to the plate...except that Victorino is still at 2nd.

I went back and watched the replay and Victorino DOVE back into 2nd base on a solid single to LF...I've only seen it once in 3 games, but I hope it's an abberation.
