Last night, Werth was going after a shoe-string catch tailing hard on him, and it hit off the glove and bounced in front of him. It was acknowledged that way via the announcers ... I was impressed!!!

99.9999999% of the time they always caught those last year.

My only gripe, the seams on the ball did not roll or spin, like they do when the ball was in the air. I hope this was fixed, but by far not a game breaker for me since at least there are seams now LOL.

They will miss quite often this year. In the full version I played, I hit a screaming line drive to the outfield and the outfielder came in but the ball was still too high and he reached for it and it skipped off his glove into the corner.

i would advise you not to. This is the common start of slideritis if you ask me.

Find your set of challenging sliders, and stick with it. For example, if you max your hit sliders and do see the double/triple u wanna see, and when you go back to your normla sliders, and you don't see that hit for a while...you're gonna keep wondering if this slider set is flawed.

I've hit ALL kinds of X-B hits ....and here are my sliders on Legend

contact, timing at 0/10
power at 2/10
solid hits 1/10
pitch speed 8/10

ive seen gappers, down the line pull X-B hits, opposite field flares for a triple ....over the head...

don't mess with sliders TOO much....just play the game for a while and you will see different things

WOW!!!

Also there was a hard shot hit to third, and it skipped up the glove into left field. So stoked for the final version.

Also want the record feature so we can capture these via video, the screenshots cant capture those moments good enough!

A call for innovation? Been done before??

Hehe...just kidding. We value everyone's opinion, of course!

Good call.

Anyhow, I dont know how you can innovate the game of baseball, but whatever.

It's not innovating the game of baseball, but I think he meant how you can feel like you are playing the actual game of baseball more with a controller in your hand.

I love how it is now and see no need for change.

When they are out of ideas, re-invent the old.

We noticed it right off the bat at the event....at first I was like...ehh...something is off...then it just felt so much better than last year.
Such a small thing makes such a big difference.

Hey, that is the second funny thing you have said since joining in 2003!

EDIT: I forgot the signature . Okay, its official now!

Intesresting sequence...

my son tried his hand at pitching to the Phils in the bottom of the first. When Howard came up, he accidently hit him in the back on the first pitch. Howard gestured towards Kazmir as he walked slowly to first...lol

I took the controls in the top of the second. After retiring me 1-2-3 in the top half, I had Ruiz, Hammel and Rollins to face.

Ruiz grounded out 3U

Hammel K'd looking

I INTENTIONALLY hit Rollins with my first pitch. Hit him on the leg. He stopped after a couple of steps up the line, gestured and pointed the bat and then flicked it behind him before going to first....LOL

I then threw one pick off throw to first, he dove back

I threw the second and I nailed his ***...LOL

This may be a stupid question, but can you make subsitutions in the DEMO? If so, how? Thanks!

# 818 Sportsforever @ 02/08/09 01:09 AM
Wow...the more I play this game the more I'm sucked in.

I already beat the Rays with the Phils so I switched it up, but I am having the worst time beating the Phils. Finally, I find myself up 1-0 going to the bottom of the 4th. Utley leads off and I hit him with an inside slider. I get Howard to pop out and Ibanez flies out to RF. Feliz comes up and on a VERY close 3-2 pitch he walks. Victorino comes up and hits the first pitch out of the yard and I still haven't beaten the Phils...I hate that flyin' Hawaiin.

On another note, I love how "imperfect" the OF play is. I have seen Werth completely misplay a ball of the wall (he got too close and the ball hit the wall and bounced off of it and over his head and rolled half way to the IF) and I saw Crawford perfectly play one off the wall in LF barehanding it as it came off. I have seen Crawford dive after a ball and miss it and I have seen Upton run down an Utley drive into the gap and make a snow cone catch.

The thought of these graphics, this gameplay, AND the off the field stuff (40 man rosters, waivers, minors, the draft, etc) is almost too much to handle...March 3rd needs to be here now.

No you cannot. You would have to keep plunking batters until you get tossed to make a sub.

I had Crawford get picked off...I had just given the steal command when Hamels did a snap throw and Crawford was leaning the other way...it was beautiful.
