If I charted the doubles I'm still hitting, you'd be in shock.

Most of us know that out of the box, the speed and fielding aggressiveness of the CPU was too fast. There was no doubt about it.
I would be in shock, because in the hundreds of 08 games I played ... I can't recall a single ground ball go down one of the lines to the wall, which is one of the most common doubles in the game.

It wasn't so much the OF aggressivenewss as it was the ball dying when it hit the grass ...

I had one of the fielding issues last night with Chase Utley. He was squatting, ready to scoop up a lazy groundball and somehow it rolled through his glove.

Just FYI...

They were tightening things up even as we were playing.

Re: @ Shakedowncapo

I have to say, this game is amazing. Last year, hitting was a HUGE problem for me because I just couldn't judge where the ball was in relation to homeplate. I.E. the distance from the ball to the plate. So as a result, I rarely had it timed right and was always late. This year, from the demo at least, I'm able to judge pretty early if the ball is a strike or not, and because the swings are faster I can decide to swing and still make contact.

I've played four games so far (been busy with life) and am 2-2. 1-0 on Veteran, 1-0 on All-Star, 0-2 on Legend. Legend appears to be THE level to play at. The players just seemed a lot smarter, and mistakes are what lead to runs, not animations. Just how baseball should be. I lost my first game 2-1 when in the bottom of the 4th, I missed with a changeup from Hammels and clipped Utley. Then, I hung a slider to Howard and game was over. A ball CRUSHED to right center.

The only thing I'm having an issue with is that the whites are just a tad too bright. Once the lights are on, the players just seem far to bright in relation to everything else. It's not the TV because I popped in '08 and the "glow" wasn't there.

The presentation as well is phenomenal. I can't recall if this happened last year, but I skipped past the umpire introductions and pitched to Crawford. A changeup that missed low. The play-by-play guys finished with their umpire introduction and then said "In steps Crawford who takes a changeup low for ball 1". It was so seamless and fluid that I was stunned.

I never thought I'd say this, but THANK GOD I have to go to work every day. It will help distract me from the anticipation of this game coming out. I've already pre-ordered it and will anxiously await the arrival of the UPS guy that first week in March.

Finally got it downloaded and played a game. Fantastic upgrade in graphics and game play from the short time I have played and can't wait for March 3rd.

Only disappointment at this juncture: bunt defense. I laid down a bunch of bunts just to see if it was still way to easy to get an IF single and I had Cole Hamels legging them out. The C just takes WAY too long to get out of the crouch, pick up the ball, and unload a throw.

you could get doubles in last years game if you hit the ball on the screws and it was placed perfectly in the gap. i think everyone knows that. doubles did occur. but in 09, there is an ABUNDANCE of ways to get doubles as it is in real baseball. the outfielders arent flash gordon anymore and this is a good thing.

Same thing happened to me twice in one game. Two hard hit line drives to Utley. Was in position to make the catch and it seemed like the ball went right thru him. Maybe Im just seeing things though.
