I finally beat LEGEND mode

Final score was 3-0 (4 innings) and I even out hit the CPU 5 to 2

Then I decided to play on ROOKIE expecting to mash and I actually LOST Back to back games and even got no hitted in the last game

I guess they were really pissed or something

Saw a fantastic play on a similar situation, I chopped it down the first base line... Kazmir comes across, bare hands it and spins 360 to nail the runner at first

The way it played out just screamed quality smooth, realistic animation and timing on everything - one of those plays that you wish you had the full version to nab a replay of!

Last time I checked there were 9 innings in game. So you mean you were leading after 4 innings! Just wait until you get to play the other 5 innings.

haah i had a 13 inng game yesterday!!
batting with both teams, look the box:

TB: 1 - 5 - 2 (2 doubles, 1HR)
PHI: 2 - 7 - 1 (3 doubles)
Thats absurd great if u ask me...in a 13 game i would never ever had less than 10 hits in the past...the game play in this game just amazes me every time i play it... i really have to focus to get my hits, it feel so rewarding, not cheap at all! if i start hacking at every thing ill just get thrown out time after time, its a beauty!

Im absolutly loving it, its gonna be THE baseball season!

This game is amazing. Lighting is fantastic, new stances are awesome and I love the new pitch meter and game play.

First play of the first game I played. I was Rays, Iwamura hits one to Pedro Feliz at third who was playing in and he booted it! Next play Iwamura is thrown out trying to steal. Then I preceeded to strike out 12 times in the next 6 innings against Hamels. It was tied 1-1 after 6 when I had to quit. I had 3 hits in all, 1 each by Kazmir, Longoria (HR) and Joyce. Plus I had two walks.

I was playing playing on HoF by the way. Which is what I played last year and never struck out that many times in a game. I can't wait for this to come out.

WAY TO GO SCEA!

I waited until about 4AM EST this morning to do it, I noticed right away the percentage download bar moved a lot faster than when I tried to do it about 7PM EST on Friday night.

I'm in the top of the 1st, and I'll add to my observations as I go, but so far, I'll say the following:
I'm on Veteran

NO pitching meters
MANUAL fielding
hitting from catcher view
will be pitching from the outfield
fielding camera angle is set to high--as how I play on '08.

1) Off the bat (no pun intended), the stark contrast in the presentation playing in what I call deep late afternoon shadows...that was something to see

2) even more 'wow' was trying to hit the friggin' ball in that mode...love it

3) it took my until Upton's AB to find where the options, sliders and audio/video setups were. And no, I did not touch the sliders LOL

4) I did set the other things in the options like I currently have them set in The Show '08.

5) Hamel's pitching arsenal is missing one---he DOES throw a straight change...which I watched him talk about on mlb.com
But no problem...as long as we can still add, delete or change a pitchers' arsenal, I'll be a happy guy.

6) oh, by the way, Upton's AB (I'm playing as the Rays) ended with a deep fly ball to Ibanez off of the circle change. Honestly I was out in front and really didn't see it that well...LOL

...to be continued

I LIKE how you hit 'SELECT' and then press the square button (shown on the in-game menu as 'speed'

MOST of you all know I'm BIG on this one...
so it seems that the APPROXIMATE, topped out pitch speed confirmation (I guess based on the clicks) is now visible--no more guessing...GOT DAYUMMMMM!!!
THAT'S what I'm talking about!

I also forgot I love the umpire names to go with personalities, the catcher calling the games, wear and tear on the field. I'm sure there is more but just can't think right now.

By the way did I mention I can not wait for this to come out!

Quick question..I have played 4 games on default all-star, no hitting aids. I have been the Phillies each time and have split the 4 games. Ryan Howard has hit a home run in each game, pulled down the line inside the foul pole. Have you guys seen the stars dominate like this? By the way, I'm just an average player.

# 692 countryboy @ 02/07/09 10:26 AM
I just drew back to back 4 pitch walks. Hamels just threw 8 straight out of the zone...

Show + Me =

have I seen them dominate, I don't know that I'll say that just yet, but you can definitely tell the difference between a star player and a role player.

to whomever asked the question about umps rotating in the retail(hustlin maybe?) it was confirmed that umps do indeed rotate. (nem i believe stated this)

They changed up from game to game when we played. That is how you get the diversity in the strike zone calling.

Any other runner and it was a no doubt double.

I would wait and see before doing anything.
I've seen the same thing. I thought I had an easy double and a slow runner was gunned at second. Then I've seen Utley get a stand up triple against me. CPU base runners seems to be more aggressive this year.

I haven't had any problems but everytime he gets up he reminds me of the Tigers trading him away. I'm not a big fan of that trade for Edwin Jackson. We need more young outfielders and left handed bats. Joyce was both.

The version we played was more finely tuned as far as details and AI performance. Some of the things guys are concerned about do not show up in the full version. Legend mode for example was waaaaaay more difficult in the version we played than in the demo.

# 699 countryboy @ 02/07/09 11:19 AM
arrrggghhh...I just lost on Legend by giving up back to back jacks to Utley and Howard. I was pacing the Phils with Kazmir but hung a changeup to Utley and then I had Howard down 0-2 and tried to throw Kazmir's filthy slider by having it start on the outer part of the plate and breakoff, but it spun and Howard belted it.

Pitching so well only to make two costly mistakes, damn I love baseball and this game is baseball.

Legend more difficult? Oh dear..

I don't care, bring it on. If the Lions can go 0-16 in the NFL, my Cardinals can go 0-162.
