I see Silva and Correia eventually dropping out of the rotation, if not off the 25-man roster, in the first week of May at the earliest. With this offense, I still don't know what to expect. I expect better production out of Kouz and Giles, I think the Padres will get some decent production from the offense.

It'll be interesting to see how the unknowns in the bullpen play out. I think Gregerson will stick. I'm not sure on Frankie, Moreno, and Perdomo. I think Mujica will be the first one cast off the bullpen and the first one to struggle.
Who are they going to replace Corriia and Silva with though? Gaudin? Geer, Leblanc? Baek? Talk about out of the frying pan in to the fire.

What's the latest with Carillo? I know he was hurt, is he back, is he close to being major league ready?

I'd like to see this Cabrera kid get more AB's and starts at SS. And I mean "see" figuratively since I really can't watch any of their games.

It's going to be a revolving door I think with Correia, Baek, Geer, LeBlanc, Gaudin, and Ramos, throw whoever in there and see who sticks like in 2002/2003.

Carrillo is currently in AA pitching and I think he'll soon be back in AAA. From what I read, his velocity is back, but he still needs to regain the command of his pitches he had before his injury. I really think he has a shot at pitching for the big-league club at some point this season.

I think if Cabrera continues to show that he's not overmatched at the plate and can continue to play solid defense when asked, that he'll eventually take over shortstop by mid-season with Luis going back as being the primary utility infielder.

Tough loss. I sort of expected the Phillies to break-out and win this game if it was close at the end. it sure would've been nice to come home from church with another victory, but I guess I'm getting too greedy with enjoying winning games that this team has no business winning.

Positives:
Josh Geer coming up from AAA and shutting down the Phillies at CBP. Not only did he limit a potent offense, but eating up seven innings is exactly what the doctor ordered for a bullpen that has been used as much as ours. Good work Geer.

Kevin Kouzmanoff following last night's game-winning home run with a 3-4 performance, raising his season batting average to .280.

Everth Cabrera, with a 2-3 game including a run, raising his season average to .308. That's some kind of nice.

Adrian Gonzalez with a 2-4 day including his fifth home run of the season.

Negatives:
Bullpen, not having Bell, Sanchez, or Meredith available came back to rear its ugly head today. It'll be interesting to see how Moreno does after giving up a game-winning walkoff home run to Raul Ibanez in the ninth, considering his control was already spotty in the inning.

Brian Giles and Chase Headley combining an 0-8 line at the plate. Only Headley left one runner on base.

Luis Rodriguez throwing error that would eventually be one of two runs off of Chase Utley's 4th home run of the season.

I think they need to play Cabrera at SS until he proves he can't hit major league pitching.

At this rate I wouldn't mind seeing that happening. I've heard nothing but good things about his defense and we sure could use some speed in the lineup. It's too bad I can't watch the games, but from what I read, he's not looking over-matched at the plate either.

Crap, speaking of Everth Cabrera, I didn't know why he was pulled in today's game, but it looks like he might miss a good chunk of the season.
