Hopefully they get rid of Kouz move Headley where he belongs and get a speedy OF with power to take over left.

But I want it to be over...

Why must the Padres ruin my prediction?

Foot meet mouth, or crow meet taste buds.

Two straight nights the offense picked up our starter having a bad outing. They scraped away at the 6 run lead and ended up taking the game. Nice job by Heath to close out the game with the tough part of their lineup.

Positives: Headley and Hairston both going 3-5, everyone in the lineup joining in the hit parade, the bullpen.

Negatives: CY giving up seven runs and not getting a quality start, Leaving the bases-loaded in the top of the ninth, Headley doing his best Ryan Klesko-impersonation in LF.

Both bullpens got taxed, although they got to ours early. Only Moreno and Mujica didn't factor in the game so we may see them tomorrow.

I think everyone wishes that. Headley's bat has been good and you can see him getting better and better every week, but he looks like a 3rd basemna playing left field on defense.

Agreed. It's one of the things that irked me back in the 2007 offseason when they traded for Kouzmanoff. I had begun keeping tabs on Headley after we drafted him in 2005 and thought that he'll eventually become our third basemen replacing Burroughs and whoever stop-gap we had.

I think eventually Kouzmanoff will be moved. Kouzmanoff apparently suffers from the same problem Khalil Greene had offensively. He doesn't walk a lot, strikeouts a ton, puts up a mediocre batting average and decent-at-best power from third. I think Headley is capable of doing just that, plus he's a switch-hitter. I really don't care if Headley is going to strikeout more the Kouzmanoff, but unlike Kouz, Headley has shown that he will draw a good amount of walks and hit.

On a second unrelated point, I just thought what are the Padres exactly going to do with Kyle Blanks. He's decent defensively at first, but I can't just help but think how much we would lose defensively at first if he took over for Adrian in the future. And as we all know, a player obviously can't be put in the outfield just like that, or you'll have plays like what Headley had earlier or David Murphy in the first game of the series at Citi Field. I hope he can transition his offense in the big leagues when he gets called up, because there are very few players in our farm system who have the offensive potential this guy has.

Oh well, the future will worry about itself, for now, it'll be Shawn Hill vs. Brett Myers.
