Useless note on the side, the Red Sox claimed Travis Denker I think.

Oh well, at least that gives Eric Sogard more playing time in San Antonio.

Yeah, I heard about this. Kinda funny. Seems like the Padres and Red Sox like each others players lately. The past couple years, they have shared a good handful (Bard, McAnulty, Mirabelli, Bay, Denker, Meredith, etc).

Wow... Say what you will about this team, but this is NOT the same team as last year. They're actually fighting this time around.

Re: The Official San Diego Padres Thread

It'll take a couple of losses, then everyone's view on this team will return to normal.

Anyways, it's nice to finally see Kouzmanoff and Giles actually do something other than kill rallies. Hill did a tremendous job keeping the Padres in the game, although the starters really need to start getting past the fifth. The Padres are rather fortunate to be carrying 13 relievers right now.

Tomorrow it'll be Josh Geer or Eulogio de la Cruz vs. former Padre Chan Ho Park.

Positives: Adrian's home runs, Kouz's three-run shot, Giles with two-RBI's, one in the ninth to tie the game, Headley and Adrian drawing 6 walks combined, just about everyone on the team.

Negatives: Hundley with the hat-trick, Duaner Sanchez making a case to be dropped from set-up.

Geer is official according to the broadcast.

Duanar's defense, that ballpark is a joke when it comes to home runs. And the Padres have no one better.

The question is how long till the rest of the league catches up to this bullpen and the back end of the rotation , and will this lineup continue to put up runs at their current pace?

I said it at the beginning fo the year, I like Shawn Hill, I think he's the #3 starter by the end of the year.. Maybe higher after Peavy gets traded.

True, I think Duaner will get it together. It sure will be awesome when we have him and Mike Adams setting up Heath.

I see Silva and Correia eventually dropping out of the rotation, if not off the 25-man roster, in the first week of May at the earliest. With this offense, I still don't know what to expect. I expect better production out of Kouz and Giles, I think the Padres will get some decent production from the offense.

It'll be interesting to see how the unknowns in the bullpen play out. I think Gregerson will stick. I'm not sure on Frankie, Moreno, and Perdomo. I think Mujica will be the first one cast off the bullpen and the first one to struggle.

Edit: Have they always had the travelers hotline on Baseball Tonight? This is the first time I've watched BBTN in a long time and I don't recall that. They just had Kouzmanoff on speaking about the ninth-inning and what not.

2nd Edit:What the heck? They're talking about the Padres in-depth on BBTN. What did you do Heath?
